This is one of the most heartbreaking losses Cleveland has dealt with. Jimmy was a ray of sunshine through all the dark times this team has had for many years. You couldn’t wait to hear his postgame speeches because he always had a smile on his face and he was so passionate about the Browns. He truly deserved better than what he got. He will be sorely missed. RIP Jimmy ❤
this is so sad. When I was in the military I’d call my parents house on my flip phone and my dad would put the home phone next to the radio and I’d listen to him call them games every Sunday when I was working. The 2007 season was magical because Jim, and he got me through some tough military posts! Thanks for the memories Jim!!!!!!!!! ❤
Thank you for your unwavering support of the Browns and of course your service! You made it possible for Jimmy D. to do what he loved, which in turn led to so much love from the fans.
Man, this sucks. Just cried with my brother next to me thinking about all of our memories with Jimmy. 36 years old and this one really, really hurt. Matching TV broadcast on mute to match up Jimmy's voice held us through the 2000's. He brought me into LeBrons world when I graduated high school, and I will never forget his voice with the Indians. Thanks Jimmy, you made all of our lives a little better with you in our lives. Browns games will never be the same.
Thank you so much for being the voice of the Browns each Sunday for the last twenty-five years. You will be missed, and my sincerest condolences to your family.
Easily one of the best commentators of all time. His energy that he brought to Cleveland, even in our worst years… unbelievable. A shame we couldn’t win the Super Bowl before he passed. I only ask for one more win this year, either against the Ravens or the Steelers. Go Browns, and fly high, Jim.
Beyond sad to hear that Jim Donovan passed...I'd turn the tv announcers down so I could listen to him on Sundays...my thoughts and prayers are with his family...
@@Scottocaster6668 I'm a broncos fan have always loved Jim Donovan his energy was awesome but whenever they played Cleveland I'd turn down the television and turn on the browns radio network to hear Jim Donovan football Will never be the same again 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 R.I.P to one of the absolute best
I religiously watched his best of radio Brown replays on RUclips after every game. This video brings back the best memories of the last 5 years. Praying for him, his family and friends. A good person with a wonderful personality who brought a lot of joy for many.
RIP Jim. As a Browns fan in the UK some Sundays the only time I could get a "stream" on a game was to listen to his commentary on radio on a Sunday. He always described it as if I was there. Thoughts are with his friends and family
For so many years I had to watch browns games from audio because we never came on television in NC… Jim made me feel like we was going to win every game. Nothing but love Mr Jim. Thank you for all the memories 🙏🏾 Legend
the voice of the Cleveland Browns Jim will be for ever be remember as a great man and the voice of the Browns and his enthusiasm will be missed even here in the UK by this avid Browns fans RIP Jim
I decided to look at this on my phone while my laptop is playing one of the games Jim called as a part-timer for NBC (specifically, Derrick Thomas' 7-sack game from 1990).
I lived in Cleveland for 30 years and Jimmy was always a favorite. I ran into him at Marcs' in Westlake, shook his hand, and told him I was a big fan. He couldn't have been any more gracious.
Thank you for everything, Jim. With every win it felt like you were beside us celebrating, and with every loss we never felt alone. Rest in peace our friend.
A class man who was a great announcer for a consistently lousy team. Rest in peace Jim and thank you for all those years of making the Browns interesting.
Always loved those Nick Chubb calls. Listened to him when I couldnt get my browns on the TV. I can see him waving his arms and looking at Deiken and yelling at him
I’m overcome with emotion hearing these calls and learning of Jim Donovan the day after his passing. I’m a lifelong Raider fan but i felt the pure joy and love he had for that team & city. You guys lost a great one, may he rest in peace.. all dawgs go to heaven!! ❤
Thank you Jimmy D! I appreciate him even more watching him carry Doug Deiken. What a grumpy old curmudgeon. Not one ounce of the joy and excitement compared to that of JD. Not once does he even look over at Jimmy, & when he does wake up & comment it’s boring, short and obvious! I loved #73 as a tackle when he played but after Nev Chandler passed away he was an indifferent, disinterested lump. Thank goodness we got Andrew and Nathan to call the games. Nathan was brought to tears on a few of those “Fantastic Finishes”
Spent many of years listening to the browns on the radio. Was an absolute honor to meet this man about a decade ago. He was a true professional, top tier. Can only imagine his reaction to a browns Super Bowl win. He will be missed. Jim will be an excellent addition to Canton one day. RIP Brother!!!
I'm a relative young browns fan. Only really been paying attention since 2016. But even growing up he was the voice of football to me. His voice is all I've ever known of browns football. His contribution to this team can't be understated and he will be dearly missed.
As fans we are united is saying we love and appreciate everything you’ve done Jim. Your legacy is without question and I hope your family knows that you were beloved by us all.
Jim Donovan will always be my Voice of the Browns!!@ Would always turn off the National Annoucers to listen to him. Sending love and prayers to his wife, daughter, and family/friends. 🙏 ❤🏈
In my time in the Cleveland sports media there wasn't a more classy, nice & helpful person than Jim Donovan. I remember how excited Jim was when he started doing the Browns play-by-play & Jim was one of the best anchors of sports in town. I'm saddened to hear of his death. Jim was too young to leave us & I hope his loved one's, co-workers & fans are dealing with our loss the best that they can. This kind of news is tough to take when it's someone that you respected & liked who was also a class act.
This is truly heartbreaking. I now live in Central FL, but as a native Ohioan, I grew up listening to Jim. His passion was unmatched! Condolences to his family and the Browns Organization. RIP Mr. Jim. 🙏🏽❤️🏈
I'm going to miss hearing his voice on my radio/phone on Sundays. The passion he put in to painting the picture for every play was incredible!! Thank you and rest easy Jim Donovan!!! 🧡🤎
I didn’t know him personally but just through the Browns… ngl I’m tearing up knowing we won’t hear him call a game again. If this organization doesn’t honor him I’m out. Prayers to his family going through their loss too
Jim’s voice meant the world to me. Some of these calls are honestly etched into my mind forever. “He’s running to the river” being my personal favorite. No one loves this team more. You were the best, sir. We’re all gonna miss you.
Heartbreaking!! jimmy was the "class act" of the browns and loved watching game with TV muted and Jimmy calling the game. Sundays will NEVER be the same. God bless and keep Jimmy D.
This was sheer joy to watch. We have been so lucky to have him and Tom Hamilton. Watching Jim jump up and down and act like a little kid while describing a play showed how much he loved being a fan. That was so fun to watch, the absolute joy. Very few people are lucky enough to enjoy a job like he enjoyed his. Leaning out of the press box, high fiving fans, it was all so genuine, and we felt it listening to him. God Bless you, Jim, and thank you. ❤
Me and my family would mute the mainstream commentating on the tv and tune into the radio, and put it below the tv, just to have Jim Donovan commentating when watching. It made the game that much more exciting as a browns fan.

For Country and Browns 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you for sharing this
He deserved to have hosted a Browns Super Bowl parade. Thank you Jim. I feel so proud to have been able to hear you and Fred McLeod call games.

He was a ray of sunshine for Browns fans. Truly will be missed. Godspeed Jim.......
Im watching ALL of this❤
What a legend, he gave so much passion and joy back the city.
Absolutely. I'm going to miss the energy he brought to every game.
Seeing his excitement in the booth is fantastic! He was one of us up there! RIP Jim, and condolences to his family.
R.I.P. Jim 😢 Thank you for always being the best friend to all us Browns fans. Never will be another
As a hard core Steelers fan, i’m so saddened to hear this news. Praying for him and his family.

Anyone else watching everything they can of Jimmy??
I decided to look at this on my phone while my laptop is playing one of the games Jim called as a part-timer for NBC (specifically, Derrick Thomas' 7-sack game from 1990).
