This video, and all of the reaction videos on this channel, transform the original material from entertainment into education. The original content that is “reacted” to is analyzed by a musician who is now disabled and uses the performance to highlight technique and further discuss all aspects of the music-making process. In addition, musical theory and style choices are also often analyzed and discussed.
While the video does use the entire song (as things such as vocal endurance and song structure must also be considered), there are many pauses. In addition, often the original content is examined to further explain the musical process. During pauses, the reactor goes into detail on how sounds are produced, why or why not they are good, or if they are particularly difficult to make or play. The pauses often last a long time, so much so that this video cannot be considered a replacement for the original material. A link to the original video is always placed in the About section, and viewers are encouraged to watch it without pauses and commentary.
Please do note the total time of this video compared to how long the original song is. That should give you an impression of the lengthy commentary provided. If you wish for further proof of the educational purpose of this channel, please look at my other videos on vocal techniques, and singer health.

As we do appreciate all of the comments of everyone saying how BAND-MAID Are known for not copyright. Frustratingly, I have to say again that this has been every reaction so far, that there yet again after my dispute of asking them to simply share revenue that have refused. So while we appreciate all of your views and all of your comments, it actually isn't helping any at all. We're not making $1 not even cents. I think this is unfair. but after a dispute process, unless you have a lawyer or legal means to keep pursuing, they can take your channel from you. If any of you know any suggestions, I would be happy to hear them from. because unfortunately we cannot continue to do this band if they are refusing to share any revenue whatsoever. I'm sure any one can agree that working for free is OK sometimes but to say that you do it every time all the time. It's just inconceivable. We want to keep moving forward I also lovebites is doing the same thing. Now, the warning is not like that. They share every single time. I'm not trying to compare the bands. and these other reactors that everyone is speaking of, they probably get donations to do reactions. We never ask for that. And quite frankly, we don't want to. I'm not sure how to proceed from here. If anyone has any suggestions or any advice, i'll be happy to hear it. This is not my first rodeo with copyrights. This is. a band that supposedly doesn't enforce them, which in my experience so far they are the worst of the worst.

They are very versatile. People keep calling them a metal band, and they do occasionally borrow elements from heavy metal, but they are NOT a metal band. They are a top-tier virtuoso rock band (which you don't come across very often) that incorporates elements of blues, punk, metal, jazz, funk and prog.

I mean, if you Google Band Maid it does say rock band, so I guess you're right. HATE was metal AF so I guess I still had that in my head. I'm still new to this band, so I don't have a fully formed impression of "their sound" yet. Looking forward to absorbing more Band-Maid though! Rock, metal, I think we can agree that they are awesome! 🤘🎸

Time to get to know the ladies better! Here you go:
Miku Kobato "Little Pigeon" - band founder - rhythm guitar and second vocals. Main lyricist. Claims to be an 810 year old pigeon and makes pigeon noises when she speaks. Po! Very good at poker, really into horses and horse racing. Very clumsy, may fall into ditches. Has the energy of an average nuclear power station mixed with weapons grade cuteness. A comedian onstage - literally! She is the heart and soul of the band.
Saiki Atsumi "The Ice Queen" - Lead vocalist and frontwoman. The youngest member at 30. Into train spotting and collecting trainers (sports shoes). Very girly, into doing her nails and is a fashion icon. Really into Baseball and the Hanshin Tigers. Don't mess with her you will lose. But she has a heart of gold and a killer dry sense of humour. Recently started writing lyrics. Has final say on songs.
Kanami Tono - "Kanamincho" but usually just "Mincho" for short. Lead guitar and an absolute genius songwriter. Total riff machine. Has two personas. Normally a tiny cute shy very polite lady who seems very innocent (the band have to explain dirty jokes to her). Until she puts on her guitar. As the band say: "then she gets quite violent" - she turns into the shredding rock star she is. Takes guitar off, back to the little girl. Likes cakes, coffee and is totally infatuated by Saiki. She adores Saiki very much, to everyone's amusement.
Akane Hirose - "The Gorilla" on Drums. Seems to be the sane member of the band, but is actually the band clown. Has an enormous appetite, seen eating in a lot of MV's. Eats a lot of bananas including on stage, hence the nickname. But she is terrible at actual cooking. Usually has a big grin on her face while drumming manically, Akane was also a DJ (under the name DJ Achi) and likes dancing and goofing with MISA. She also plays trombone!
MISA (all caps, no last name) "The Barefoot Assassin" on bass. An absolute bass prodigy, MISA is very shy onstage (and a total clown offstage with Akane). Nickname comes from the fact she plays barefoot and looks like an assassin. Because of shyness often drinks onstage, you can often spot a bottle of Jim Beam on her amp. She drinks it neat. Lately drinking more beer than whiskey though, good girl. Doesn't say much, but when she does it's usually totally hilarious! At a lot of concerts you will hear the fans chanting MISA! MISA! MISA! which has become a slogan.

“Versatility” is an understatement when it comes to Band Maid. It’s not as if a heavy metal band slows the tempo and plays the same formula. The Maids play metal, hard rock, punk, pop, and funky rock as if each was their specialty. It’s almost weird.
One of my favorite shapeshifting songs is “Moratorium.” Anthemic. Alternative rock. Heavy thunder. And fun pop altogether?
Alice in Chains in Wonderland? Yeah. That sounds good

Yes, Akane is Band-Maid’s smiling drummer on stage professionally since 2013. Hearing one of Band-Maid’s 130+ songs always makes my day better. Band-Maid’s songs are unique, so much so they created their own genre “Band-Maid”. Yes both Band-Maid and the Warning may have pop elements, but they are hard rock and rock respectively.

OGL, Thanks for reacting to this. I think the more you hear Band-Maid the more you will realize that MISA, on bass< and Akane, on drums, are the most intuitively brilliant "rhythm section" in rock and roll.

You are very welcome! I am impressed by all of the band members, but this rhythm section is pretty awesome. I love how Akane is so fun and smiley as she pounds her kit, while MISA has that more reserved stoic vibe. Almost like little sister/big sister. Band-Maid is a fascinating group. 🤘😎

The Maids performing one of their (two) most performed songs: Freedom and Real Existence. But the Maids in this MV are pure perfection, aren't they? I mean, what can you fault? This is one of their older tracks, from before they started writing all of their own music, and you can feel that it’s more accessible, kind of poppy. It’s one that they’ve played so much that they can kind of take it easy and goof around on stage. The lead guitarist gets in the 2nd vocalist’s face during her lead part. Everyone’s making faces at each other, like the lead vocalist and drummer.
I think they’re less submissive, and more focused on service, which is maybe a subtle distinction. They call their concerts servings, and work very hard to make sure the audience has a good time. The iterations on their outfits can fluctuate in terms of how maid-like they are, but the spirit of service is a constant.

    Keep up the reactions…
This song was an earlier one written by outside sources but the lyrics were co-written by Miku,s who is now Band-Maid’s main lyricist and rhythm guitarist. The drum solo was added for this performance and Akane’s smile is infectious. You should checkout Alone it’s from the same album but first all Band-Maid, after that song Management gave them freedom to what they wanted.
World Domination and “We will do our Best” is their motto.

OK so here's a helping hand. We'll keep this simple leaving out nicknames and alter egos saving that for your advanced lessons. Here Goes
Saiki Atsumi (Psy - Key) Lead Singer
Miku Kobato (Me - Koo) Rhythm Guitarist, Co-Lead/Backing Vocalist, Band Founder
Kanami Tono - (Ka - Na - Me) Lead Guitarist, Piano and Back up instrumentation, Band Composer
    Misa (Me - Sah) Bassist
Akane Hirose (Ah - Khan - Nay) Drums and percussion.
Funny you should mention an upbeat tempo song disguising darker lyrics. They have just such a song with an MV, its called "Alone"
"Alone" also happens to be the very First song that they were given full complete musical creative control over to release by their management company. And I guess you can make the argument that it was a swing song that you can see the beginnings and the trajectory of what their sound would eventually become.

Kanami sat down by Miku, when she took to the mic, trolling her because she messed up her vocals in a previous show so she wanted to make sure Miku did it right....Lol!
Hope this helps you learn their names, your unofficial cheat sheet:
    Band-Maid Is:
*Akane Hirose (Ah-kah-nee or Ah-kah-nay) -Drums, Nickname: “Ah-chan” and "Gorilla" because she eats lots of bananas for her stamina and is a BEAST on drums. Lost her little hat back in 2018....a sad day indeed.
*MISA (Mee-sah) - Bass Guitar, Nickname: "The Barefoot Assassin" MISA always performs barefoot as she states she likes to feel the music through her feet, and "kills" everything she plays.
*Kanami Tono (Kah-nah-mee) - Lead Guitar/Genius Songwriter Nickname: "Mincho" “Kanamincho” ……Miku’s guitar Sensei.
*Miku Kobato (Mee-koo) - Band-Maid Spokesperson/Rhythm Guitar/Lyricist/Founder/Backing Vocals/Lead Vocals…hardest working girl in music. Nickname: "Little Pigeon" (Miku’s surname means “Little Pigeon”) ....po! Getting caught up in Band-Maid means going down the “Pigeon Hole”…….. no rabbits here.
*Saiki Atsumi (Sy-kee) -Lead Vocals Nickname: "The Princess" “Si-chan”. Saiki may be called The Princess but Miku is The Queen…..also Saiki is Kanami’s “crush”.

Many of their songs are Power Pop or Pop Punk, but you can find almost anything you want, if you're looking for a a favorite. You mentioned anime music. Not only do they have songs like 'Blooming' that sound like Anime Theme Songs, they have done actual anime theme songs. They did 'Glory' for Yu-Gi-Oh VRAINS and 'Shambles' for the season two close of the Netflix anime Kengan Ashura. They also have 'Unleash' which has the video in anime format. You also mentioned Tradition. They have a couple of songs that feature Traditional Japanese instruments in their April Fool's Day persona, BAND-MAIKO.

They are a Rock band not Metal. Reactors keep calling them a metal band for some reason. Now reactors don’t call Lovebites ( who are Metal ) a Rock band! I just find it strange when reactors say things like it’s not so heavy or it feels a bit poppy. Well that’s because You’re thinking they are Metal when there not. Good reaction though.

    • @DannyLeeOGT
      @DannyLeeOGT  27 дней назад

Hey, this is Danny. I'm not the one that reacted today, but I think a big reason for this is there are so many different subdivisions within rock and roll now. Now, I always heard of heavy middle and speed metal. And both of these bands play very fast. So it's all point of view or perspective. As your thinking, metal just means heavy metal. can mean fast as well. Normal rock and roll is not as fast as Band Maid. And I'm not sure that's just what I get from reading this comment. And, you know, like us tool fans, we get. aggravated when reactors don't really look up the lyrics when we tell them. Look, man, these songs don't rhyme the lyrics. are very complicated Very big words. So look up the lyrics. And yet most reactors still don't. And they get three or four songs in and realize, oh man, I need to look up the lyrics. That always bothered me. But the one thing I had to think about is, you know, these react Listen to a lot of bands and don't really need the lyrics. as their first time experiencing Tool. So when anyone outside of the Japanese culture experienced these very fast paced bands it seems like speed metal, more than traditional rock and roll.
