This video, and all of the reaction videos on this channel, transform the original material from entertainment into education. The original content that is "reacted" to is analyzed by a musician who is now disabled and uses the performance to highlight technique and further discuss all aspects of the music-making process. In addition, musical theory and style choices are also often analyzed and discussed.
While the video does use the entire song (as things such as vocal endurance and song structure must also be considered), there are many pauses. In addition, often the original content is examined to further explain the musical process. During pauses, the reactor goes into detail on how sounds are produced, why or why not they are good, or if they are particularly difficult to make or play. The pauses often last a long time, so much so that this video cannot be considered a replacement for the original material. A link to the original video is always placed in the About section, and viewers are encouraged to watch it without pauses and commentary.
Please do note the total time of this video compared to how long the original song is. That should give you an impression of the lengthy commentary provided. If you wish for further proof of the educational purpose of this channel, please look at my other videos on vocal techniques, and singer health.

Guys, I'm 60. Started my hard rock journey with Van Halen and AC/DC. BAND-MAID is hands down the best rock and roll that I have heard in decades. On my Spotify, there are 125 songs by BAND-MAID that have the "like" check next to them. NO other band has ever put out that many songs that I really like and not only like but listen to daily and because of the range of styles that they play with, never get tired of.

That's a great story. Yeah, I started at 14 years old. I went to the Cherokee bike rally and seen Fog Hat, Steppenwolf and Blackfoot. I've seen NIN, Metallica, HANK JR., Marshall Tucker and many more, but the best band I've ever seen live is Tool, Maynard just turned 60 as well touring with 3 Active bands. All having songs charting ATM. And a fun fact is the last concert Eddie Van Halen ever went to with one of his children was TOOL
OK, lol enough about that, yeah, BAND MAID & THE WARNING are the best bands I've heard by far in a long time. And they both seemed to be bringing rock and roll back to what it was. So. with my band TOOL being the last and only band since IRON MAIDEN to chart # 1 in the world for Rock and roll. I will gladly love to see the passing of the torch down to these two bands.

Warning is doing a show with Band Maid in Japan, I don't think they're doing a full tour unfortunately. They should, their fan bases have a ton of cross over. (and the bands are big fans of one another)
When you were talking about throwing away your guitar, I recall another reactor (Mr. RockandRoll) saying something like "No matter how good you are at a thing, there is an adorable 5 foot tall asian lady that will absolutely destroy you at it"

I agree with your philosophy toward genre. I label everything from the rock family tree as "rock" in my digital files. You could do the same thing with jazz or Western Classical. I don''t differentiate between chamber and symphonic music, it' all "classical".

The sound isn't as good, but you'll get the picture, or watch the MV of manners and pay attention to the lyrics too. It's an anthem. Bassgasm! I love it! How many freakin' bass/guitar "conversation/duels" have you ever seen in rock?! And they do it so well!!!!! The more Band-Maid gets views and reactions from guys like you the bigger they are going to be. I'm glad you mentioned The Warning and your happiness that there are so many young women finding old-time rock and roll, then falling in love with it and performing it. All of us old geezers like who usually at the rail for Band-Maid concerts hope to see a younger audience at the shows (females and males). The J-Rock bands (and The Warning) are keeping rock and roll alive.

Beautifully said, I am gonna pin this comment. There have been so many good comments, but I really like this one.
To answer your question, with the theatrics on stage and speed and precise way they're playing, I have never seen a bass/guitar duel like that.
I am, however, spoiled to the base in the guitar, sharing the front lines as far as playing the lead and playing off of the drums. Tool my band incorporates this many, many people have trouble knowing if Adam Jones, the guitarist or Justin Chancellor, the bassist, who is playing the lead riff.

Ohhhh Danny Lee ... you're gonna love goin down this "Pidgeon" hole. That hit you like they hit me 4 years ago - an I still listen to them daily.
The guitarist (Kanami Tono) is a riff meister. She is in my opinion the Japanese female version of Angus Young (an I've been following AC/DC for 47 years since they played at my school when they were just starting out) but sooo much better.
I'd suggest "Puzzle" official live (you'll here Angus in this one) then jump straight to the other end of the spectrum with a rock ballad - "Daydreaming" official MV that when the guitar solo hits, you'll think "Where the f^$% did that come from".

During the same concert, MISA , the bassist, and Kanami, the lead guitarist, had another "call and respond" duo. It was during "Don't You Tell ME". There is a video of that song on their RUclips channel. I hope the both of you get to react to it. During "Don't You Tell ME", Akane's drumming is superb. During the bass and guitar solos, she played her kit with perfection to highlight each guitarists riffs. The look she gave the two after the solos really show the respect, affection, and support these five young women have for each other.

Band-Maid is distributing, on Zaiko streaming service, a concert they did on Feb. 22nd. 22 songs in 1 hour 45 minutes. Available as 1 week or 1 month archives. Release is at midnight Eastern US time this Saturday. They announced this concert right after the one that this song was done at saying that they had too many songs they wanted to perform at Yokohama and so did this other concert of ones that they couldn't fit into the Yokohama set list. They are not leftovers but more great songs.

Well, it's no offense. We mispronounced English names all the time. Not sure why you assume it's because it was Japanese. So we apologize for trying to show love to these ladies. I don't speak Japanese. You don't speak English. We don't speak each other's language, and we're communicating. So to me, that's pretty petty to point out some kind of mispronunciation. But to each their own. We apologize for not speaking Japanese.
