Parker Valby is well coached and the strategy for this race is impressive. Valby wins Back to Back 5000m SEC Conference Championships. Parker is the greatest distance runner of all time.
I have faith if Parker decides to move into the Marathon distance she will win a major Marathon like Shalane Flanagan won the NYC Marathon years back and Desi Linden won Boston. Parker will inspire many young people to start running weather for fun or competition as well.
Parker is terrific, and with great future potential, but a little perspective is helpful. The current world leading time so far this year is just under 14:27. The Olympic qualifying standard for 2024 is 14:52. Parker ran 15:07 here. I have no doubt she will qualify, but let’s give her another 4- 6 years before she is really competitive internationally.
Greatest Distance runner of all time? How about Emile Zatopek who won the 5,000 meters....10,000 meters and the Marathon in the same Olympics? Or perhaps Paavo Nurmi....9 gold and 3 silver medals at the Olympics and 22 time World record breaker?
Smart coach, don’t let her go too fast quite yet, no need to set a huge record and risk injury, just qualify, and get the win. Long term goals are more important than record chasing at this time, that will come later. Although, another meet record bites the dust yet again . She could have run so so so much faster.
Arkansas has a good tandem with her and Sydney for sure. I grew up in Wyoming and got to watch Sydney break the records set by Alicia Craigs who grew up in the same county as me. Alicia was married to Ryan Shay, who sadly died during the Olympic marathon trials in New York in 2007.
💯 And Noe's 5k time was within a couple seconds of Valby's time 2 years ago (15:32.41). Also the announcers misspoke, Arkansas scored 14 in the event with not 3 but 4 of the top 8!
@@BigDapperDanMan Paityn a definite 15:20 to 15:22 if she had someone to bridge the gap between her and Valby. A simple year of maturity is going to put Noe competing for BIG CC and Track wins.
It was background music playing, the interviewer thought it was the Swedish group ABBA but Parker corrected him and said it was Rhianna. A bit awkward there when Parker thought ABBA was a Spanish group, her last name Valby is Swedish/Scandinavian so she is likely of that heritage.
YES Шay to go Parker.!!! She was my top pick for a winner when I first saw her run many months ago.I knew she had talent and strength. Parkers energy is so energetic and cheerful at the same time. Its funny she didn't know the legendary band Abba from the 80s with so many nhit singles but I guess that was a different generation I grew up in also. I hope Parker's fast running and talent will inspire a whole new generation of future runners ..I believe Parker can win a Gold metal in the Olympics and if she ever decides to move into the marathon distance I hope she will win NYC Marathon or Boston like Shalane Flanagan won the NYC Marathon years back.
Parker seems to have a slight overstride. Might be more efficient to shorten it a few inches; get the ball of foot aligned to hip and ear. Great athlete blessed with talent, but that stride could be more efficient.
if my memory still serves me right, i want to say that good-ol' "PoMan Productions" down there is southern california is pioneering & trail-blazing the womens cross-country genre' just like our beautiful frozen princess mermaid parker.... (god-bless her).... such a running angel i meant to say.... if god created anything better than womens track & field it remains a mystery son...
The replay was junk. The two key moments cutout so didn’t get to see the finish. Lame. Congrats Parker!
They did same thing with other events. Must be some kind of legal content bs..

(...collegiate distance runner of all time)

58 entries?! thats a full on cross country race! im surprised its allowed so many so many per school
Watched for 20 minutes only NOT to see the finish.🖕
They didn’t show us the race finish!
17:22 , what's going on here??
Taunting
oh dear god, the interview
It was weird and akward😂
That’s what a runners high looks like lol
Parker graciously downplayed his stupidity, not her 1st rodeo. Classy and beautiful
She gave him a woody.
Yeah, he is trying to flirt with her. That’s off limits bud, she is mine.
I'm also impressed by freshman Paityn Noe. After she took 2nd in the 10k, 3rd in the 5k here.

Absolutely. Another "great" on the way hopefully.

looks like that 3rd Gator slowed the field down on purpose making the girls in the back not knowing whats going on meanwhile the leaders is gone.
Weird interview 😂
such a cutie god-bless her.... makes all the baby hearts pop out all around.
Congratulations young lady shout out to all
Was surprised her rabbit didn't finish too i think she could have done well
What was wrong with the interview? I thought Parker was a little short with him, but they seemed to have a lot of fun.
Impressive
Fernando is a great interviewer. Really enjoyed that repartee with Parker. Congratulations, Parker!
Is that the same dude that interviewed Caitlin Clark?
Cool
ABBA? 🤣

Cased the post race interview… do better. Go Parker!!!
Go Parker and go Florida ! This interviewer is hopeless.

she running like a tremendous machine said in 1973 shes the secratrariat of today
Old man flirting
It's 2024 and the vid resolution should be 4K. The vid sucks the big time.
Is that a new comedy team? And not knowing who ABBA is!

Look at Eilish McColgan, substantial overstride but she seems to make it work, though this seems to set her up for more frequent injuries.

Armchair biomechanics experts 🤦
As she gets older and faster, any overstride will blend right in.
Go search videos for Joaquim Cruz. Ran 1:41.77 for 800m and has a gold and silver. Seemed to do just fine.

I thought she was going Pro after the indoor season .
I don't understand why they don't punish the people being lapped for not moving over. They are selfish dolts.
Wouldnt be waving to the crowd if Katelyn was in the race
Katelyn has never run anywhere near that fast.
Don't think we hear from her again on the elite pro stage!!
@@christopherhaak9824 Katelyn actually ran Faster. 15:03.
This is unnecessary
In 5th place.
She would be helping the su🙄ck girl finish...that's why.🤫🤔🥰
Incessant commentary😢
