Katelyn Tuohy has been winning national titles and making headlines since she was a 7th-grader, running top all-time times and breaking records year in and out, running has been her life and people literally watched her grow up as she has been in the spotlight since she was 12.
What amazes me the most other than her accomplishments is how she is able to keep going despite all adversities through the years like injuries, mental burnouts, physical changes, pressure, and expectations. So many young female running phenoms at the college level never run faster than HS self nor be better after maturing, but Katelyn has broken that curse.
It takes not only talent to achieve the things she has achieved but immense drive and determination. Katelyn is one special athlete.

I have nothing but respect.... ran (men's) HS and college cross-country/track, and this distance is BRUTALLY hard, especially at this pace. They make it look easy enough with their efficient strides, but look closely at how much ground they cover with each stride. Most of us would have to turn on the burners to maintain this pace for even a single lap. Just amazing.

I used to run in the 80's and 90's and the times some kids are running these days are close to world records back then. I put it down to the new type of shoes Nike have brought out. Who is that girl in 2nd place? Her form is good. I see tenacity and grit. I'm not a coach but maybe she needs a better strategy. Tuohy can't wait to see you in the Olympics.
    Go North Carolina !!

Are the ponytails meant to stop the girl behind getting too close?

She's been struggling as of late, coming off an injury earlier this year. Tough showing in the 5K of the 2023 US Championships at Hayward Field. She's young and needs more elite and international competition.

I like observing these athletes emotional behaviors when they win an lose an everything in between they display great emotion an positive balance while one can tell they've had a really good workout when I was younger I used to sneak over to South high school at about midnight an take a lap or two it was a good feeling an to me it was very personal

I predict that Parker Valby's compete level, which is off the charts, will propel her past Katelyn.

PV must be asking herself what she can possibly do about her nemesis KT. As of this comment, PV was blown out again by KT in the NCAA championship after she had established a 12 second lead at the 4k mark when KT began to reel her in.

Those girls are faster than I. After the last one came in, I would still be needing like 2 more laps to finish.

      Im hearing you there
I would be 5 mins behind them
They are so graceful when they run looks like they are just crusing
I remember running a 15 k road race 5 years ago and it was 3 laps of the same course
The leader went passed us on his second lap looked like he was just jogging
Really puts it in perspective when you are racing with elite runners they are just so effortless
