Few people in the world can say "I was there when Katelyn Tuohy broke the national record." Even fewer can say "I was in her way, slowing her down."
All the other girls on the track! Just think what her time would have been if she hadn't had to veer around all them, over and over?

They need to give her a little bell she can ring as she comes up to lap people so they can move out of the inside lane for her.
I was there at liberty university, it was insane to watch and everyone was standing up and cheering her on the last couple laps
Why would lappers move out of the way?
That's stupid, I've seen a lot of people talk that #%^ on youtbe track.
I race dirt bikes in Cross Country. Other racers do move over, but as a rule? All most of them DO is move over too late and tangle me up at the last moment.
It's better if the lappers run there own race and ignore the faster racers.
She makes it look easy, it doesn’t look like she’s going that fast. But that pace is literally faster than my sprint LMAO

That’s insane. I’d barely get hit a mile in that time, and I’m pretty sure I’d die.
But also credit to the other girls as well - I hope they didn’t get too upset, especially since they’re all really talented athletes, just overshadowed by Tuohy.
No, it seems the other girls are not willing to win, as they know, Katelyn Tuohy is the fastest anyway.
KT could have won this race if she had run the entire thing in lane six.

This race is incredible. I have watched it many times. Katelyn is unbelievable.
Cant help but smile every time i watch her run.
Katelyn Tuohy, is a phenomenal athlete, just look at that smooth running style look at the execution that she has to the coaching that she turns into the most efficient delivery of her energy, an amazing young athlete that you certainly will hear about for several years to come, she is a force to be reckoned with, one other point is her strength of mental attitude and delivery she gives her all every single time, Kat we all love you?
You keep uploading videos of Katelyn Tuohy running and I will keep watching her. An awesome athlete.

Her running form conforms to the greatest distance runners in history. When a runner transfers all potential vertical motion into horizontal forward motion so that there is little or no wasted energy they are maximising their potential. To be able to run in that form means you have to have a slight lean/squat position to maximize the length of stride and forward motion. It is also a position that forces you to run fast in order to maintain that position. It is a very uncomfortable position if you are runing slow. It is a natural position for runing fast and hard. Although there are many different length of strides and different arm movement as there are different people the basic principle of forward motion with minimum vertical motion is a principle that all elite runners practice.
Katelyn is lucky to be blessed with a near - perfect running form if not perfect
Her natural running form and mechanics is what elite professional distance runners strive and train to have

Mainly because due to the corona virus they have had very few races and those they did have weren't public. So they have to post "reruns" in order to have anything to post.
They get revenue so they need stuff to post .. there were few races this year because of COVID so their uploading old Runs

I’ve been watching her since she was a freshman and love to watch her run, bet there’s been nothing like this. If she continues through college and beyond it’s hard to believe where she will be.

Guarantee ,there have many past girl athletes whom have in deed run remarkable times long before this girl came around.Just they were not known -- for they did not come from big areaa .
So ,yes ,there have been other outstanding athletes long before her -- those whom had already been running low times in either elementary s choolor even in middle school and perhaps in both levels of school all the way through their high school years .
So ,just because one's name,is not plastered everywhere -- most certainly does not mean ,that there had not been any prior to this young girl whom has only been running a fee years .
Wanda, when it comes to sports it doesn’t matter if you’re from a small town, a middle-sized town, or a big city. All that matters is how good you are, how fast you run. This junior in high school just set a world record that only she can possibly best, she’s the fourth best woman 5000 meter runner in the world, as a high school junior! Don’t minimize this achievement.

You could say she would’ve ran faster if she ran in lane 1 the whole way. But when u see ppl in front of u, beating u or abt to lap them regardless, you gain speed and pass them quick so idk if it would’ve been a big difference in time. That girl the last 100 gave her a little boost cuz I bet she just wanted to pass her

Wasn't this race on the Flotrack RUclips channel with 5+ MILLION views? Now it's gone (probably unlisted) and re-posted here instead. Tuohy was an amazing HS runner and it's wonderful seeing her run but using her for views seems kind of unethical. If you want to use her for click bait (because let's be honest, any running video about Tuohy will guarantee views), I'm sure a lot of your viewers would have loved to see her race from Ocean State or Holmdel for example, or even any other past XC races of Tuohy rather than the 5000m national record literally EVERYONE in the running community has already seen.

No introduction you have to be among the insiders of the Insiders to know what's going on. Spend a minute or so of commentary before the start of the race introducing the runners introducing the race the contest.. Commentators do give a little information during the race.
