I like to think that a way to differentiate between INFJs and ISFJs on how they’d react to a friend’s pen drying out. An ISFJ would be more likely to give them a brand new pen, with multiple colors if they hate a certain one. An INFJ is more likely to say “oh yeah that happened to mine last week. I dipped the tip in water and scribbled out some fresh ink, and it’s practically brand new.”
I can definitely say that, as an INFJ, we are horrible in the sensory world. I am always bumping into things that I should know are there. Also, yes, how better to help people learn how to help themselves. We are sort of natural therapists and psychologists.
In my experience this is how I distinct the two: Isfj's are future focussed as in wanting to do things right (job, house, partner) but they aren't as good in forseeing things or even thinking through how to get there.. They experienced life as it is just unfolding cause they use what they know and with consistency you make progress. NI users are more mental planners as in trying to forsee how things will go, obstacles and so on than decide what is the best way to proceed. For me a big one to notice the difference is isfj's talk very chronologically.. Where Ni users go by concept or theme or maybe even start with the point you are going to make and then explain. An isfj will just start telling about their day from the first moment with a lot of unnecessary details (to me as an intuitive). For instance: "My alarm went, I went to take a shower but couldn't find the right temperature cause my roommate did the dishes downstairs and it messed up the temperature stability, after that... "Isfj's in general talk about more practical things. Things that must be done where infj's like to think more about inplications of why things happend. For me the two are pretty good to distinct. Often you see online the I am an INFJ message and then they tell you how to make small talk and how to be more polite or questioning why people have difficulty with that. There is a lot of sweetness and kindness but it's just not that deep so that would be an isfj. Infj's are rather prone to see messages and depth where its not present or necessary with that primary Ni. They can sometimes be a bit too much into thinking things through being all wise but never have the guts to actually experience it and realising that doing so is actually also something that's takes dedication. So you can hear them say something like: with the global warming in mind I think I have to move to a different place, I looked into that and such lake is going to dry out so than I think I have to go to.. There I think of political preferences as well.. And good education systems for my future children... And they have difficulty thinking of practicalities as in well how would you be able to make such a big life changing move, what about family you are now still dependent on? Do you have enough money? How do you get that? And all that type of stuff. Sensors often just do without having to think it through for a long time, they are concerned for the things that are inconsistent and they cannot forsee. They look for the answer in their previous experiences.
From time to time, ive been bouncing back and forth between being an ISFJ and INFJ... While watching this video I kinda get why... I like consistency or doing things by experience but I am also innovative in a way that Im trying to improve what has been practiced for long. I try to discover new things so as to make work easier for everyone. I often say in my work place, "if it works well why change it? However, if another method or technique gives a better outcome, change becomes inevitable. We need to catch up." I choose to change not for the sake of changing but for the sake of betterment. I scrap traditions that I deem harmful or I deem as a hindrance for organizational/personal growth. I like helping people. However, I dont usually extend my hand all at once. I usually let my colleagues do things on their own and help out only if they asked for it. The only time I voluntarily get up to help out is when I get frustrated with someone who is already having a hard yet fails to promptly seek assistance. I dont see the need to master everything; I wanna be good at everything that is necessary to get my job done. From my perspective, it is impractical to aim mastery through extraneous effort. For me, mastery comes from repetition. In addition, I kinda have a hard time finishing a game. lol.
You basically just described me as an ISFJ. I don't feel the need to master everything either, I just know it would make me happy if I did, but it takes a lot of work so I don't.

I believe my mother to be isfj me infj. Similar but complete different perspective and ways to function. She will help people out no matter what me I try to help them handle their issues mentally. They always seek to tell me issues. I don’t know what I do they just feel comfortable telling me everything
INFJs are also a lot more interested in abstractions, conceptual nuances, synthesizing information and reason to gain a comprehensive and intuitive understanding of the real world. (Ni-Se). ISFJs are better at establishing and maintaining balance, harmony, stability and are a lot more aware of things like duties and social/relationship expectations. INFJs interactions with people is a bit like decoding and deconstructing people, their thought processes and feelings, psychological intricacies, to gain an understanding of how they operate, as an individual and a part of society, and what it represents about human nature or the human condition. ISFJs on the contrary are more likely to care about empathizing and relating to people's individual experiences, feelings and thoughts, identifying familiarities and extrapolating from their concrete awareness of dichotomies, characters, personalities, values etc. Their Ne makes them have a more diluted and broader understanding of society as opposed to the INFJs Ni usually being more nuanced and contemplative. Basically, ISFJs are more likely to be part of different communities and interact with different people and socialize, while maintaing a very personal attachment to familiar manners, codes of conduct, social norms, value judgements etc. INFJs are more detached and less judgemental but reflect more on the underlying nature of things and trying to get to the bottom of things. Auxillary Fe for INFJs is there for them to observe and understand sociological and political mechanisms, how cultures, ideas and values evolve over time, the nature of people's thought processes and frameworks, while auxillary Fe for ISJFs is there to help them connect, socialize, and get involved in communities, maintaining a harmonious social environment
Nice video! I was with you all the way until you said that INFJs do not master things... I'd say mastery is one of the things that make INFJs INFJs. Ni deep-dives and invests. It really, really doesn't like to leave things alone until a satisfying conclusion is found. Ne is okay with leaving a game unfinished or jumping to the next project, Ni sits with something to its fruition - things the INFJ is passionate about anyway. Any type sticks to things they are passionate enough about, of course, but Ni loves to gain knowledge and information (Se data) that it can hold onto and synthesize. In this way, Si and Ni are similar except that Si does it habitually and to keep cogs running, Ni does it to take it somewhere, to move forward - mastery. Just to reiterate, both can master things but Si does so by repetition, Ni does so for the sake of mastery itself. Cool video nonetheless!
Ni means taking in knowledge and deep diving, but that doesn’t mean mastery of a skill, because mastery requires application in the physical world. Mastery for an INFJ would be knowing some abstract concept inside and out which has no physical world utility
My problem is i took personality test two times, first test i got is ISFJ and then in my 2nd test i got INFJ-A. In this explanation i totally have both reactions depending on situation so until now i still don’t have a clear knowledge of what my real personality is lol 😂

So when I was in my early twenties and again in my late twenties I bought brand new cars. I loved the shiny new car smell. When the brand new car I bought was only a couple years old I sold it to buy a really sweet 4 year old Jeep. I realized later that buying used was more practical because you buy after the car has depreciated at least it did when I bought my Jeep. So is what I described make me an Infj or Isfj??
Love traditions and hate changes, yep theres no other Way only ISFJ xD but not everything is right in my case, like they Say about ISFJ. For something I have no patience at all. If you disapoint me few Times I'm not there for you anymore, no meter how much you need my support. But this came with Time, as I got folder I have become more balanced. We change all the Time.
I respect tradition, dont like changes, value discipline+organisation and all of the stereotypical Si things but I never act upon them. Apart from traditions and things. E.g -I recently bought some toxic waste and was planning to save it during April because I did that last year and the year before -For the disliking changes, I can't shower in the morning and only in the evening (dont ask why) but i love going to new places and trying out crazy rollercoasters (but thats usually just to say I did it lol) - If you look at my room you would easily confuse it for a shipwreck. In two words: NOT ORGANISED...and i dont plan to organise it any time soon Idk if this is Si or just really bad usage of Fi

It is very curious, but I'm an INFJ, and I don't know if my cousin is ISFJ or ISTJ. But the fact is that every time, my mum (ENFP) needs to have something done, she calls my cousin because my mum knows she will do it immediately. While I get angry and upset, and I forbid her to do anything for my mum, not because I'm jealous, but because I want my mother to learn to be independent and do thing by herself with no help of anyone. Please take cognitive function test. Not mbti test. You need to know. Dominant function stays the same. At the end you will choose back to the roots.
