I once heard that ENFPs are INFJs but just inside-out. ENFPs tend to wear their childlike/playful approach to the world on the outside (so this is what most people see at first) but have quite a reserved inner world on the inside. On the other hand, INFJs tend to wear their more reserved self on the outside but have a childlike, explorative inner world. It would make a lot of sense considering ENFPs and INFJs have the same cognitive function ordering but inverted.
Interesting. Well, they do say ENFP is the most introverted among the E type, this is well known. Since they're inverts, I guess INFJs are the most extroverted of the Introverted types? Yup, it does make a lot of sense.
@@aureliaavalon actually INFJ is the introverted type but we could be seen as the extraverted person.. when i tested my mbti with my friends, my friends help me to answer since that was my first time, i was ENFP, but once i did it myself for so many times i found out that i'm an INFJ. we could be seen kinda extroverted coz we love people, we love to know n solve other's problems, we can be hilarious n funny for keeping the harmony or flow or mood but actually it's draining for us to keep doing that. but we somehow can find our way to recharge n be fun again
@@aureliaavalon Well, it varies on an individual level, although I'd say that ISFJs are the most extroverted introverts, but I believe that INFJs are the most rational feelers.
INFJ - I was just thinking how deeply I relate to all ENFP movie characters, because I’m very much like an ENFP when by myself/with closest friends + free to be vulnerable. It actually is a side of me few people get to see. It’s like ENFP are a part of me. Exactly what you’ve said!
That's so true. I'm an INFJ dating an ENFP. When we first met, I did see him as a charismatic 'life of the party' type person, but he does not see himself that way. In the five years we've been together, it is as if our personalities reverse sometimes. He reveals his complex inner world to me, and all his goals and theories, while I start acting like a golden retriever.
INFJs just gather together in MBTI RUclips videos instead of actually meeting new people. That's why there's a lot of us here. :^D

@@katystrawberry2513 I‘m an INFJ-A and I’m married to an ISTP. Sometimes this can be very challenging. Once we had an argument about something and my husband wanted to understand my points of thinking. So I really tried my best to explain it as good as it was possible, but he wasn’t able to understand. And not only that, he couldn’t accept it but he really struggled following my thoughts, he just didn’t understand at all. Of course even if there is the same mbti, every person is different, but „thinkers“ and „feelers“ together in a relationship or marriage can be tougher sometimes. Sometimes I miss the feeling of being understood. Of course the INFJ is not easy to understand completely, but sometimes I think the „thinkers“ struggle much more with it.

I'm an ENFP and my fiance is INFJ. One of the greatest compliments he ever gave me is that I quieten his mind. I love him so much because we communicate effortlessly, we literally complete each other's thoughts most of the time; it's borderline telepathic. We make each other feel so loved and cared for and respected. But I will say, if you want an ENFP and INFJ relationship to work, both of you have to have the same values, since INFJs have very very strong values and ideals. I just feel so lucky that my and his values coincide so well.

@@susanmoran2154 enfps arent necessarily party animals. I'm an enfp and I'm not. I like to socialize and to make people laugh but I can also be very introverted at times. I think this is true for most enps. We're outgoing and fun when in a social setting, but love spending time alone and quality one on one time with the people we care about

you also have to consider most of us are very loud . That peace and quiet is like 10% of who we are . The rest is chaos , yelling , moving around and talking with our hands . It can be too much or exhausting for some people ( its one of my main insecurities)
I'm an ENFP and my ex was an INFJ and we had A LOT of conflict. There's a lot more to people than their personality type. In romantic relationship for example, attachment plays a huge role. I was avoidant, she was anxious, and so we were both triggering each other and caught in an anxious-avoidant loop for 4+ years. Yes, we shared similar values and visions, we were both creative and idealistic, we had a lot of fun together, and to a large extent, we just got each other right off the bat. But unfortunately we didn't last because we couldn't work many other things out. As interesting as these personality categories are, they can be way too generalised.
I had the same experience with me (ENFP) and my ex (INFJ). We were so compatible other than the part where we were constantly triggering eachother

Yeah I think there should be a caveat saying "these personalities have the *potential* to be really compatible if both people are emotionally aware enough to know their wounds and triggers, and to work to understand each other's differences." How are you getting on with processing the relationship / break up?
I (enfp) worked to heal my attachment issues before dating an infj. I worked hard on it using the Personal Development School. Best money spent in a long time. Highly worth it. I'm not sure what his (infj) attachment style is but I find many infj females I've been friends with are avoidant or anxious avoidant. Communication isn't their strong suit.
Had the same experience with you guys as well (ENFP). I had an INFJ ex, we were so compatible on most things and became together. Though we experienced a lot of conflicts and misunderstandings along the way. Emotions were extreme as well, either we’ll be extremely happy or depressingly sad. The relationship ended up badly. I consider my relationship with her as someone who’s hard to love but best feeling of love.

Since they’re opposites, there would be a great balance and the personalities would just complement each other. But being friends is just as great. I guess it depends on wether or not you’re attracted to that person in a romantic way. If you are, then it could definitely work out.

As an INFJ the difficulty I've seen is ENFPs being very fast paced with the expectations for the relationship. The INFJ takes a long time to trust and form meaningful relationships. If you push them too far they might feel like you're not seriously emotionally invested and shut you out even though you're just at a different point in thought process.
True that! I’m an INFJ and my girlfriend is ENFP. Our chemistry is amazing, but while ai want to take our relationship one pace at a tine, giving time to know each other, she wants to rush things and get engaged/married already lol

As an INFJ, I tend to trust the vibe of the person more. If the vibe is there, it is fine if the relationship. What I strongly dislike, is a person who tries to dictate everything in the relationship, and who tries to 'punish' me if I don't see things his way. And some ENFP's in an unhealthy energy can be this way.
I think of ENFP and INFJ relationship as very balanced, natural and almost childlike. ENFP's are the more social/outgoing version of an INFJ, without being too intense. INFJ help ENFP be more organized and grounded, without being boring or overbearing. Almost the exact two sides to the same coin, opposite without being too intense. :)

You should look into ENFP's and trauma, as the "shadow" ENFP presents as an INFJ.

I’m an INFJ with an ENFP twin brother. We are best friends, but I would never date someone with his personality type. The extrovertedness is a lot, plus you can’t get mad at them without them looking like a kicked puppy who doesn’t know what they did wrong, and that makes communication difficult.

As an INFJ, I must say that ENFPs have the most attractive personality of all. I've been madly in love with an ENFP for almost 3 years now and I think I have never been this fascinated and in love with a person's nature and outlook on life. In an ideal world, we would be together, but honestly I'm grateful every day that we're best friends and that our paths in this life have crossed

I don't know what the case is here, but sometimes going for a relationship is scary when you have such a good friendship, relationships can ruin things like that.

This past weekend, my friend experienced one of the worst things we all must go through as human beings: the loss of a dear family member. It truly bothered me to see my friend suffering like that and I've since been thinking about that moment. At the same time (and I know this might sound strange), I felt like, even though I didn't do much and I did not know what to do or say really, I was happy with myself, because I could be there and be supportive in such a difficult time. I just hope my friend can overcome this terrible situation as soon as possible and I hope my friend finds some comfort in the wonderful moments and memories shared with this family member. All I want is too see my friend happy and well

Here's a curious fact, here in Colombia there are almost none INFJ due to the cultural impact our raising has and as few INFJ there are also few ENFP, most people have Centinels or Explorers tendencies. Why is that each time I meet an INFJ, I feel like they're always romantically compatible with an ENFP but not me? I have seen an ENFP female many times and is friends with one, then I meet INFJs, I feel like they'll do good with ENFPs. Maybe it's the shadow function as well that affects their values, motivations, etc..

Actually I'm a INFJ-A single-mom and my son is an ENFP-A personality-type. I've got the guts to let him grow supportivly according to his strenghs and weeknesses, because I can feel in every single moment the needed direction. Now he is 18 and on his own feets, living his life well and joyfull. Together we had so many precious moments and it's really worth to have this life together. He was and is always proud about his extraordinary mom and therefor I love him so much, that sometimes it hurts. this is something the mbti system doesn’t make very clear, but is very important: the E and I in every type isn’t equivalent to socially extraverted/introverted. it just alters the order of cognitive functions :) meaning that, lucky for you, there are plenty of socially introverted ENFPs around. :D

I do have a certain boldness, and can be blunt in social situations, but often I tend to be shy in big groups. Only when I'm with my close friends or people that I know, do I tend to be loud and goofy. Most of my friends are introverts. AlsOooo, I do get tired of hanging out with people at a certain point. I need time by myself, and enjoy going on hikes/reading/dancing alone in my room>.> AHEM. Keep in mind, we like to talk about "deep" things. I love passionate conversations and listening to people's own experiences. At the end of the day, although people with my personality type are similar in many ways, everyone is their own unique individual.

Im an ENFP and i LOVEEEEE INFJ WITH MY WHOLE HEART. My two closest friends are INFJ and it’s such a healthy, energetic, carefree connection. Both of them were really shy with me at the beginning but I never mind that because i find it more intriguing to peel the layers off someone one by one. Now we can just talk about ANYTHING for hours and when we’re together i come up with random ideas but they always help me execute and plan them to turn it into a reality. Your type is determined by the cognitive functions you use and the priority order in which you prefer to use those. You might feel like another type when you give preference to a cognitive function that you normally wouldn’t use as much but they are set in stone. Your type can’t change as you are born with your cognitive stack.

Miya was the best thing that ever happened to me.
She was right to leave me though. I became a clingy mess after graduation and it was too much for her.
After that my other close friend, J, had developed a middle school crush on her, but soon realized she didn't feel the same. So he started hanging out with me and our friend C.
One day, me in my infinite stupidity. Said something I shouldn't have because I thought it would help him get over her and then said something to hint that maybe he didn't really love her either. But it was severely misinterpreted as me talking bad about her (which is ironic because I'm literally the one that defend M whenever J or C would start talking shit about her behind her back) and he sent it to her and all our friends in the group to spite me. Then he stopped being friends with M entirely (at least that's what he says).
Everyone that didn't block me, I told to leave. I had felt so ashamed.
Ironically, the only one that seen what I said and understood me perfectly was C.
I wish I could apologize :(

@@hashy0x43 i’m rlly sorry that happened to u :( i hope ur doing better :) a lot of times, actions we as people take can come across as rash and hurtful, even if those were not our intentions. give your friends some time, and when u feel u and they are ready, maybe u can talk ab the situation and what happened. give them the time and space to be understanding of ur actions, and maybe u can do the same for them. most people are more compassionate than they let on, and for the most part, people deserve second chances. idk whether that makes sense haha i’m not rlly the best at giving advice but i hope u have a great day neverless and that things work out for u!

(extroverted thinking and introverted sensing) Now for INFJs the same thing thing but flip the extroverted and introverted stuff around

As an ENFP with an INFJ wife, I really agree about this. We may argue a lot when we work the same project, but we love to share stories and exploring ideas together. My wife also my perfect traveling partner, we travel a lot and we love exploring new places and learning new cultures. ❤️
Me an INFJ always feel fascinated by ENFP and want to be with them romantically, but the ENFPs I've encountered always fall for other people and run after them even though they admit they feel the chemistry with me. I feel frustrated by this sometimes.
you'll never stop seeing "enfp and infj are super compatible with each other!" everywhere in mbti communities. but not every infj is the same, and no enfp is the same. there are very unique people in every mbti type, so don't feel obligated to date an enfp just because mbti makes them look like best friend materials made for infjs. the person you end up with romantically is your best friend by default regardless of mbti type. it could be an istj, an infp, or entp. you literally never know and the best people aren't just found in enfps, i've known shady enfps. when you know who the one it is you love, you hardly give a shit about what mbti they are anymore because they're so right for you and they'll feel only you are right for them. you're wasting your time feeling frustrated over an overpraised stereotype, it's not easy to date just any enfp because they have their own characteristics, perceptions, and values too apart from mbti. sincerely infj, you're awesome the way you are and there'll be someone exceptional for you someday.
Of course I'm not saying I can only be with ENFP. I just notice those who I was drawn to the most in the past have usually been ENFP, back when I had no idea of what MBTI is. I only discovered this MBTI and ideal match a year now. This is just the pattern I find out, naturally falling for the that type without my knowledge. Although now it might already be a bias, I gotta say I always have a soft spot for ENFPs. But really, thanks for the advice. Appreciate it.
