    Wow, what a great tutorial! it helped me alot to make a collegue project, thanks! :)
    A few different techniques i'd use: to find the center the image you can active the grid in the view tab, then open the grid/ruler bar settings and click to find the center. Also, u can make a layer only for the symmetrical ruler, make it show in all layers and then lock it, you'll only use one for the whole drawing :) I mean, thats how I do it and thanks again

    Great system, CS is a little picky with creating patterns. It's one of the few things Painter actually excels at beyond media application.

    • @InvertSilhouette
      @InvertSilhouette  Год назад

      Thanks! I actually haven’t heard Corel Painter recommended for patterns yet, but good to know it handles them well.

    • @TimothyCHenderson
      @TimothyCHenderson Год назад

      @@InvertSilhouette It uses a symmetry ruler similar to CS but the boarders of the canvas loop back on the opposite side so when your brush extends off the canvas, it appears on the opposite side. It has it's own limitations but still easier.

    • @InvertSilhouette
      @InvertSilhouette  Год назад

      @@TimothyCHenderson Very cool! That’s definitely beneficial for the kinds of patterns I made here.

    The pattern looks awesome. I'm wondering if you can't use the automation feature of clip studio to automate the conversion between rasterized and image material layer.

    • @InvertSilhouette
      @InvertSilhouette  3 года назад +1

      Thank you! Yup, you probably could use auto actions to make it a little easier / faster.
      For the tutorial, I usually find it helps people learn if I repeat the steps a few times though (and I forgot that was a feature Clip Studio had when I was filming, haha).

    • @ValleyOfWillows
      @ValleyOfWillows 3 года назад +1

      @@InvertSilhouette Yeah, you're probably right. I always tend to take the lazy route but if I were ever to lose all the automations I've set up, I would definitely need to start from scratch again and relearn all the steps.

    Does this translate to making patterns for shirt printing for example?

    • @InvertSilhouette
      @InvertSilhouette  2 года назад

      Yup! As long as you keep in mind the restrictions for whatever type of printing you’re using, it should work fine. (Ex. Screen printing can usually only use limited colors)

    • @InvertSilhouette
      @InvertSilhouette  Год назад

      Sorry for the delayed reply, I must have missed this!
      Keep in mind, this tutorial is for the 1.0 version of Clip Studio, so I don’t know if things have changed if you upgraded.
      That said, you’ll want to make sure you convert your layer first (as this changes the available settings), and make sure your tool is “Object” under the “Operation” panel.
      You then have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the panel to find the tiling option.
      Hope this helps!
