If I knew those career paths existed when I was in design school, I probably would have pursued them. Though, I don't know what they were like back then (I graduated 15 years ago) 😅
I don't know how long it has been since I watched you. Today while I was searching for how to draw border on page I just remembered that I used to watch someone do some drawings. First I thought it was Jazza but then I remembered your channel had something to do with lemons lol. I searched lemon bookcovers and bam found your channel. I don't know since when I watched you but it has to be over 6 years or so. I was happy to see that you have over a million subs but it was kind of disappointing on how the engagement on the videos is so low. I will share your videos to my friends who are interested in these things. I grew up doings lots of arts and crafts and so I used to watch your videos a lot to do some DIYs. I just wanted to say, thanks for being a part of my childhood. I really appreciate your work.
Thank you for this video. I searched for into seamless files. I am practicing using seamless patterns (purchased, not designed, by me) to make items for family and friends. I worked as a speech-language pathologist for ten years. I'm burned out. I've been working retail until I figure out what I want to do. I've felt lost for a while now, especially with limited babysitter availability. I'm wondering if graphic design would be something I'd like. I didn't realize this would pique my interest. I'll keep learning more about it. Again, thank you. Your video made a lightbulb go off in my head, and I appreciate it.
I think I've watched you almost 10 years now, since I was in Uni (now work 7 years)and always come back to check your inspiration, Love from Thai's Fan
Loved your video!! It answered so many of my questions as a newbie pattern maker trying to figure out the best way to scale for print on demand. In particular if using the pattern in photoshop on a large scale canvas would pixelate on final POD product (ie blanket). THANK YOU!!! New follower ❤
This is totally new to me so I find it fascinating. I was absorbed, if not overwhelmed and makes me wish I had had the opportunity to take this up years ago. No matter, it is great to watch an expert.
Hello Jennifer! I was looking up some videos for 'seamless repeat pattern' and this video showed up... I really liked it and keep up the great work! and, you inspired me to do some art work when I'm free at home and again loved the video! ~Love from Canada
I found this really useful and helpful 😊 I don’t use graphic programs as I’m a traditional artist, however I did earlier this year experiment with digital painting with a stylus. It looks clever to be able to move sections in pattern preview. Lovely artwork 😊
I've been following you for years, and I'm so proud you're making the move to all the other mediums 💙💚 I'm gonna make an absolutely amazing dress from something of yours, for sure!
Cool stuff. I recently did something like this with a painting I did, but I used Notability to sketch the pieces and then Inkscape on my PC to arrange the pieces and recolor them. No pattern mode as far as I know in Inkscape but I know a few tricks to make that part easier, like making everything in a group and then making clones of the group that update as I edit.
Hi Sea! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, priceless! It solves my current problem with white lines! I struggle with them when I save seamless pattern directly from Illustrator. I see many designers switch to Photoshop to save to eliminate the problem. Thanks to you I know I don't need the AI at all as I can play with the pattern tile in Photoshop directly ❤️ Tell me, have you ever experienced any problems with white lines being printed on the edges of the tile once saved from Photoshop (for Spoonflower)?
So inspiring and very practical! I’m off to design repeat patterns for my sustainable kids sweatshirts. Really appreciate your hot tips! Love from New Zealand ✌🏿✌🏼✌🏽
Thank you so much for this excellent tutorial, I have been following you since I started having interest in bookbinding like 3 years ago and I still enjoy your videos. I have a question regarding your process in creating your pattern in Photoshop and Procreate. What size canvas do you start in Procreate when creating your art and what size canvas do you start in Photoshop when you are creating your pattern? Thank you so much!!
Concerning your cheetah pattern: if you have Photoshop, there is a way to enlarge lower-quality photos and "create" new pixels- it looks quite good if done carefully :)
Hi I worked out an easy way. I bought a newer wireless printer. I make one picture and then I send to print. It shows you an icon how many to print on a page. You click on the size and number of picture you need to print on an a4 page. You can also feed in to the printer sticker a4 paper of Your choice. All the work you need to do is change the colour printing to? Quality print? You choose..how easy is that???...p
your patterns are always so cute!! I have a question tho what type of material you often use to make book covers? I always use cereal boxes but I want something sturdier as covers. Also how do you print your pattern on the book covers?
Thank you for the informative video! I use Affinity products myself, because they are robust and you only pay once. I have to suggest the pattern preview feature to them, it looks very useful!
I keep messing up my patterns. They will look GREAT, but when I save them and try to use them, it only gives me my original square 😢 and not a pattern of it. Idk what I am doing wrong 😢 I am using the pattern preview mode on photoshop. Do you have to just keep adding more copies of it and tiling them together? I am worried I might get lines if I do that. Thank you for your unbiased video! I appreciate you! ❤
Photoshop will save only the square swatch as a file, the pattern preview feature is just a look at how the swatch will repeat. You have to make a new file to make a pattern of the square swatch. Skip to 6:08 to see this in action :)
Thank you for video. Could you say please how did you make transparent interface in your photoshop? (3:46 )I have the same version and I was trying to find this option for hours and didnt😢
#notificationsquad Hi Jennifer! Hope all is well in your world. Thank you for another fun vid. I love the idea of putting your artwork on fabric on spoonflower! I’m definitely gonna be following that bc I love to sew and would definitely make something out of your designs. Have a great day!
Thank you!!!! this looks much easier than trying to duplicate in procreate. I was trying to figure out an easier way since all the layers get confusing for me 😂
Does anyone know how to create a pattern for a circle skirt? I'm having trouble since if I use a normal fabric with a design, half of that design will be upside down. I have an idea to create a circle skirt with a design running along the bottom. Like an animal running around the bottom of the skirt so if you were looking at the fabric itself, some of it would be upside down until it is made into a circle skirt. I hope that makes sense. I recently wanted to figure out sewing and I heard a circle skirt is a good place to start. But I also wanted to create things using my own artwork
This might be a stupid question but how is she selecting all the motifs so effortlessly and moving them? I mean don't you have to be on a specific layer (because I think each motif is on a separate layer) in order to select them??
Hi my name is Uusha S i want to ask u that i draw textile designs only on page not digitally. I want to sell it or i want a job. So can u tell me what should I do?
Pardon if this has an obvious answer, but after creating my pattern and applying it as you show my end result has obvious seams. the seams don't show when I am in pattern preview mode while creating it.
You’re always so humble. That disclaimer at the beginning introduced me to two new jobs I’d never heard of. Thank you 😊

My first time watching you and I'm in love with your humidity and sincerity.
Much of this video was over my head...the technical aspects...but I still enjoyed it! I appreciate you sharing your creative process.

Adobe photoshop has won my heart! That feature is just so cool!
Love your work

Omg this is so satisfying. Starting my POD journey this year. Can’t wait to try this out. Thanks for the video!
This was really neat to watch, thank you!
So many Studip Support patrons! 😍I’m so happy for you!
I took a class once and learned how to do that on paper, by hand. It was really fun to play around with it
The patterns are so cool!
While I don't use either of these programs presently, your video was very educational and a pleasure to watch.
I've followed your videos for years and I really enjoy them! This looks so fun too I love it!
Thank you so much for pointing out the new 2021 pattern feature!!! Always so many updates to keep up within the design world.
Excellent tutorial! Thank you!
I was in the middle of making covers for sketchbooks when I saw you uploaded a new video 😍❤

Very helpful! I think I will need to make a pattern for my printmaking class this semester!
This was a fantastic video!! Thank you for sharing! I have would LOVE to see more behind the scenes editing videos/process videos - it is SO helpful 😊
I love the cheetahs!
I wonder if Clip Studio Paint has the pattern function!
I found this really useful and helpful 😊

Definitely getting the 2021 version! It looks so much easier😍 Thanks for sharing.
Sea Lemon, what a smart human being... 💯

I make my patterns in adobe illustrator. Object>pattern>make. But I think I will have to try making a pattern in photoshop now!

The patterns looks so beautiful! 😄. I’m currently working on my Bachelors degree for Graphic Design and I hope to be as skilled as you are! 😄🤗.
I love your hair!! It's so pretty 😻😻😻 also your voice is so calming. Really cute prints tbh!
Yay! I was wondering how to do something like this! Thank God you posted this, Jennifer! So excited to try it out:)
Holy cow! Such a great tutorial. Thanks!
Great Video!
Thank you for this, you have showed on this video some very clever info.
Great information! I'm just started to learn and your video was very helpful.
Going to start making my own fabric patterns and this is exactly what I needed! Thank you so much!

I am your fan! I am studying fashion design and I love your content because it helps me a lot
OMG LOVE THE PATTERNS
Thank you, this is great information ♥️❣️💜!
I love your patterns!!
Love this! With the dimensions you used 3600x3600pixels, would you be able to make large prints say for wallpaper prints of the pattern?
love you, after a long time
Thank you for the tutorial!
Ahhh thank you... this video answers my question that I just put to you regarding software! X
Saved my life! thanks a lot!
Thank you so much for making this video!
Was your cheetah art an inspiration for one of Kate Quinn Organics' clothing patterns?
Can you show how to make a half drop repeat? Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I'm definitely going to follow your tips. Thanks for what you do!!!
Thank you so much for introducing me to that new function in Photoshop! Will definitely give it a try :)

Hi really liked your art what is the machine that makes the pattern on product
You are very talented!
Never knew about pattern preview! O_O I was thinking you'd have to use some offset scorcery...
If you turn the object to a smart object it will not get cut off in photoshop pattern preview.
So helpful, thank you!❤
They look great 👍🏻
Concerning your cheetah pattern: if you have Photoshop, there is a way to enlarge lower-quality photos and "create" new pixels- it looks quite good if done carefully :)

Which classes do you recommend of Skillshare?? Thanks

Could we print a pattern created in Illustrator on fabrics or other surfaces? What settings should we be aware of?

You left me in the dust. I’m just learning photoshop.
good! But how to rotate without broken line?
#notificationsquad Hi Jennifer! Hope all is well in your world. Thank you for another fun vid. I love the idea of putting your artwork on fabric on spoonflower! I’m definitely gonna be following that bc I love to sew and would definitely make something out of your designs.

Can I do this easy on my phone? Is there a way to make my already made pattern seamless?
Thank you!!!! this looks much easier than trying to duplicate in procreate. I was trying to figure out an easier way since all the layers get confusing for me 😂
Yes! It's beneficial to know how a repeat works, to understand it manually first. But the pattern preview feature is so much easier and fun to use!
Awesome
Hai. Iam curious your monitor behind you. If you dont mind may i know ur monitor is? Thank you
Thanks. :D

I hold command and click the shape I need. It's a shortcut to selecting each layer and a lot faster 😉
@@SeaLemonDIY omg! Thank you so much! I had no idea, that is such an easy way to do it! Haha muchas gracias ❤️

@@SeaLemonDIY It does. I played with the components of the pattern moving the ones that appeared cut off and was able to eliminate the seams.
I make patterns online and i wanna sell these somewhere
💕
Yes it cuts it off for me too. Makes it difficult to work . Frustrating
First like!
First view!!
Procreate is only on apple
Ak
7th view!
hassle!
It's better to make a smart object of images and it wouldn't cut anything
