I like how you mentioned why the pilot is dirty, I actually just thought back to my Hasbro figures and the pilots were dirty too and I think one had sandy boots lol, makes no sense.
I figure the Clones that made it to Geonosis were the very first batches and had been battle ready for a year or two. They had been heavily trained and their armour was already worn compared to the later clones we see as 'Shinies' in the Clone Wars series. This is why their armour had the rank colours for ease. The Pilots had live training with Fenn Rau hired by Jango and is in Rebels.

I know I'm a year late, but what do you mean by the head from the Tartakovsky Clone Wars? The phase 1 helmet included is from Attack of the Clones, and the phase 2 helmet is from the 2008 Clone Wars.
The plastic on the chest can be removed with some heat. There's 2 little pegs on the back so there are some holes on the chest but nothing some filler and paint cant cover. Your idea of magnets is why I bought this and already started on that mod just so I can have a clone with a bunch of different options for display.

Aaahhhhh. Clones look so good when they’re in a matte finish. I really wish the live action ones in the shows look like this going forwards. The glossy texture makes it look cheap and plasticy like the stormtroopers.

Hot Toys absolutely needs to fix the phase 1 mouth piece going forward, its been called out many times now and is not screen accurate throwing off the entire look of the phase 1 helmet. Its one of those things once you see it you can't un see it although thankfully Hot Toys do seem to have addressed the helmet mouth with Clone Wars Obi Wan that includes a brand new phase 1 helmet, the mouth slits on it are thin and true to what a phase 1 should be.

Every clone with a P1 helmet that has been released have another Helmet option so the issue you were talking isn’t a big one. You’d just use the fixed p1 helmets with the new ones or swap them with older releases. ✌️

Except we literally see pilots use this “1.5 helmet” during the same timeline as those “2” helmets. You can have different variations of helmets you know.

I think that they should update the helmet and just release an accessories pack with updated helmets for the older figs.
