So those two tools of his. I only know what they are because as a kid I loved those Visual Dictonary books. The bigger trigger looking one is called simply a “Lock Breaker” the silver cylindrical one is called a “Field Security Overloader” what’s funny is everything hot toys put into this is on the Jango Fett page in the AOTC visual dictionary.
He looks so good, even just standing upright. For me it was Jango whose look I fell in love first even before Bobas, as I grew up with the prequels as my Star Wars. I cannot wait to get mine in !!
Jango Fett is my favourite Star Wars character. I always loved Boba Fett as a kid. Attack of the Clones came out when I was 12. I loved the look of Jango and the way he was portrayed by Temuera Morrison. Loved getting to learn more about him in the game Bounty Hunter and in comics. This figure looks amazing. I'm not able to afford Hot Toys, but it is so much fun getting to see a good review about them.
Jango was always one of my favorite characters, and seeing a proper sixth scale figure of him makes me so happy! Even in a neutral pose, it’s such a striking figure for someone who loves the character (and not to mention he can hit some pretty crazy ones with his accessories.) This figure just brings me right back to the ep 2 and the game!
I love everything about it, except the pleather. The belt detail and gun holsters are better looking on the SS version, but everything else "checks the boxes". This is a remarkable figure. Worth the wait for collectors. The last few HT releases have all been outstanding. Have a good day, Justin.
Jango is my favourite star wars character of all times so when i saw he was up for preorder I didn't hesitate on picking it up. He looks so sweet between my boba and clone trooper
I’ve got this figure of him on a shelf with 2 signed pictures of jango fett from temuera Morrison I got back when I was a kid hanged right above the figure, jango is one of my favourite Star Wars characters and I loved his bounty hunter game and the comics showing his life and how he eventually became a bounty hunter, I miss that era of Star Wars.
In my opinion I really like the new sculpt for the head Out of the three Rex and Cody do look almost Identical to each other but at the same time the one for Jango gives me young Temuera Morrison vibes
7:24 The Rex head sculpt is by far the better version in regards to likeness to younger Temuera. If they put Rex’s eyes, mouth, and nose on Jango’s headsculpt (maybe adjust the brows a bit) it would be a 10/10.
Finally snagged this bad boy today. This is something I’ve been dreaming to get ever since I was 11 years old (I’m 28 now) and I just pulled the trigger on the best one made by far. Thank you, Hot Toys!
Oh man, I'd love to have this figure. Ever since I was a kid I loved Jango in Ep. 2. Him and Mando are the ones I desperately want, but raising a son takes priority. Man, how I wish I was rich :-D .
THE FIGURE WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR. Outstanding review Justin, I’m glad you’re excited about this figure as much as we are. Can’t wait to pair him with Boba.
Hi Justin! I’ve been waiting for this figure and have him on order now. I love the head sculpt of Morrison as a younger man. I agree the base is a dissapiontment. The armor and the overall look of this figure is perfect. Had no idea you could switch out the dented head covering. Just love this figure so much! It’s a great comparison to the sideshow version. Thanks for the video 💎😊
The wat you described how you felt the first time you saw Jango Fett as a kid was exactly the same way I felt the first time I saw Boba Fett on the Holiday Special way back when I was a kid.
Jango Fett is better than Boba, seriously the guy was the template for the clone army, he held his own against Kenobi, actually defeated a Jedi to protect dooku and had a great space battle.
What’s funny is that Jango was older in AOTC than Boba is in The Mandalorian. Jango was 44 in AOTC while Boba is 41 in The Mandalorian. I’d rather see a Journal of Jango Fett series than a 2nd Season of The Book of Boba Fett tbh. Jango was also the mentor of Cad Bane. Season 2 of The Mandalorian basically canonized Jango’s Open Seasons comics as well.😁
My guess for the difference between the Jango headsculpt and the Cody headsculpt is simply this. Jango is younger. Cody, with his accelerated aging, will look slightly older than Jango at this point. These two faces look like exactly the same person to me, just one a couple years worth of extra aging
I'd also say being an active solider adds to it as well. Obviously Jango sees plenty of action as a bounty hunter, but that's not quite the same as being on the front lines of a war nearly every day for 3 years straight.
You are absolutely right I checked the complete visual dictionary they're those pieces were some kind of emitter and a lock breaker very interesting. I wish there was a place on the figure that you could put these pieces.
@@JustinsCollection that just goes to show the amount of detail Hot Toys put into these figures. They probably use that book for inspiration. Like Qui-Gon's grappling hook most people didn't know what it was when he came out the only time you used it was in a deleted scene the waterfall sequence on the DVD.
Mine will be here this Thursday the 26th, and my CW Maul ships on the 25th and my birthday is the 29th. It's going to be a good birthday. Gotta make room in my detolf. I'm so excited for these two!!! Especially Jango Fett he looks absolutely INSANE!
I love this figure! Really considering buying him. I agree, I would never use the poncho, and likely not even the headpiece. Can't cover that armor! I would likely have him with the helmet on always anyway, like I do with my TROS Kylo Ren.
If you look at the Star Wars visual dictionary for Attack of the Clones is under suit is blue with just the slightest hint of purple so it's like 95% blue 5% purple.
He doesn't have the rope line that he wraps around Obi Wan's hands. A string could just be added and tied around his wrist to appear to have come from a gauntlet I suppose.
Interesting that his more 'Boba' style jetpack looks like it is based on the newer Mando Fett one (with removable rocket) yet it has gone backwards and using clips (boo) instead of magnets (yay)?
A really great figure. In hand, the head sculpt looks a tad better. Still think his jawline is a tad too wide, and his hair is a bit too curly and too wide at the sides (which may also give the impression of a wider head). Still, I will keep my customized Hasbro Ultimate Jango. I like his headsculpt better. Yes, his flak vest and torso armor are sculpted plastic, but it is so well done from half a meter away you really have to know it. I put him on a body with modern articulation, weathered his plastic belt and holsters, and glued the armour parts permanently to his flightsuit (they had a tendency to fall off their velcro whenever I played with ahem posed him). And I very carefully warmed up his shin armour for a better fit and glued it. Made him a nice stand, and now he simply looks glorious. Yes, no swapout hands, but for me it is enough that he can hold his blasters. Regarding the jetpack: I also prefer the more colourful one with the longer rocket to the blue and silver one (can't remember their names right now). The blue and silver one is cool, but gets a bit lost in all of the other blue and silver. But I think it really is just a matter of personal taste. Mine is simply slotted onto the back plate, very sturdy (it is meant to be a toy, after all. Although, if I look at those two tiny saber darts and other tiny parts...oh dear. I keep mine in their box and hope not to loose them).
Personally the clips for the jetpack don't bother me. I'm used to them with my HT Empire Boba and SS Jango. I think they included them for this to add some realism of how the jetpack attaches and to cover gaps. The Mando Boba doesn't have the clips, but there are empty slots for where they would be which makes it look a bit odd.
I am late coming in . Justin 's great job and you're crew I just got my jango fett is really cool . I also noticed that that the jumpsuit changes color in different lighting blue to purple even in your video it changes color just like the movie.
Great to hear your childhood experience when seeing Jango in the movie for the first time. That’s how I felt as a kid when I saw Boba Fett in Empire Strikes Back. They look Bad A$$! Using your words! Lol.. I feel the Commander Cody and Rex head sculpts looks closer to the actor. But with the head piece with mic helps the look. How difficult is it to slide that neck sock back on? Lol.. Good idea by Hot Toys. To bad they didn’t sculpt the belts. Pleather oh no!!!
I think the head sculpt is just fine. Just because they're clones (and Jango) doesn't mean they have to look EXACTLY the same. They've all led different lives, have slightly different hair styles, and the clones age at an accelerated rate.
ATTENTION to all potential buyers of this figure. Mine arrived with pleather issues straight out of the box.The strapping on the legs has totally come away and snapped, the belt attachment with velcro has also came away. I can see further issues regarding the pleather in the future. I also feel that the pants are far too short, when you try and put the figure in any kind of pose where the legs are moved back then the pants ride up too high exposing the ankle and ankle joint.I have managed to get a replacement from the seller in Hong Kong but this should be a complete none starter issue. Thank you for your review Justin, it is a fantastic figure but i just wanted to let other potential buyers of potential issues.
This figure looks amazing, but the one thing that's keeping me from buying it this very second (aside from willpower to not buy things on impulse lol) is that the arms don't look like they raise very high in the forwards direction. I noticed it at first during the articulation section of the video, then again at the very end with how Justin had the arms raised as high as he could, but still had to bend the elbow a bit to get that "aiming" look. If a figure that's meant to be aiming a gun, blaster, etc. can't raise it to eye level, it just looks like they're pointing their weapon instead of aiming it.
Was watching your video on the sideshow one then popped on over to this one thinking hey the sideshow actually doesn’t look that bad it looks really good. Yeah no not next to the hot toys one it looks bad imo. Not terrible but hot toys looks like a big improvement
Just to reiterate the grappling rod that he uses to entangle Obi-Wan's wrists from getting his lightsaber is in fact made of metal? So that way there's no worrying about warping and that the piece at the end is that made of plastic so it's nice and Light? So again no warping. Just want to make sure I heard you right on that cuz I was one thing I was worried about cuz I plan on using that on the very first posed I'm going to put them in when I get them this Thursday coming up.
Help me please! Which figure looks better in person? Hot Toys 1/6 Disheveled armor Boba Fett Hot Toys 1/6 Jango Fett figure? On video Jango looks more proportionate, and I think he was a badass in attack of the clones. Boba’s helmet looks a bit too big But I really like the weathering on his armor and the scene where he returns in Mandalorian
My thoughts on the Headsculpt: It is meant to be a younger Temuera Morrison. Cody and Rex look slightly different because they are supposed to be older. Overall it gets a pass from me.
Great review Justin. I have the Sideshow version also, but gonna display one with the helmet and one without (with the head gear). I have no problem with the headsculpt, think done a good job for younger Jango! Some are dithering whether to buy, this is a must buy, such an iconic character!
Definitely gonna pick him up but the head sculpt is off for me, it's really weird seeing that he's not 100% close to morrisons likeness when we have the clones that are closer and they're supposed to be movie like instead of animated. I wonder if we're gonna get a situation like we got with the mk85
the jetpack clips are annoying, but if you look closely when he’s fighting obi-wan and his jetpack gets destroyed, he has similar clips on his back. guess they went for accuracy over convenience
I'm always a fan of the original, I love Jango more than Fett. I love Big Boss more Solid Snake..etc.. Jango had a fun game on GameCube as well, Big boss had snake eater AND peace walker! 👌 Would be cool to pose him next to commander Cody, for obvious reasons! Think Cody would call him dad? 😆
@@reillyseddon7841 He's a clone, All clones are based off Jango. BOBA was made for Jango as part of a deal, because he wanted a son. This is explained in Attack of the clones on Kamino.
I was hesitant to buy after being really disappointed with my first Hot Toys Vader Bespin. The screws to the batteries were way too tight and it took me a week to actually get it up and working. Even broke the watch screwdriver I bought for it. I hear the latest Vaders now have USB power which would have prevented those issues. But thankfully this has no electronics & Jango is my 2nd favorite character after Vader. Agreed the base design is just laziness. Even my Jango Unleashed from 2002 had a nice rainy base. Also I just don't see the flaws in the Temuera likeness of the sculpt, looks like him to me.
Awesome review Justin, I do agree with the likeness though. The pictures they had for the figure, the headsculpt looked so much better. Awesome figure nonetheless, waiting for mine to ship!
I think his helmet got dented during his fight with Obi Wan when Obi Wan used his grapple hook against him which caused his first jet pack to fly off and be destroyed.
Idk what the debate is in the color of his flight suit is, I just skimmed through the movie to his scenes and in the movie it's slightly darker than the HT figure but the HT figure it's pretty close

@12:46 I’m with you there. Jango Fett’s armor is one of my favorite armors in all of fiction, and is definitely my favorite in Star Wars.

Those pieces that you couldn't identify. One is a security field overloader and the other is a lock breaker
Good to know!
Another Awesome review !!! I'm getting Jango this Thursday !!! WooHoo , so excited
Thank you! Enjoy!
the jetpack clips are annoying, but if you look closely when he’s fighting obi-wan and his jetpack gets destroyed, he has similar clips on his back. guess they went for accuracy over convenience
Interesting!
“I am a bounty hunter like my father before me” -Boba fett probably
Love it
Wow, he looks awesome!
I think so too!
Boba is the original though
@@reillyseddon7841 He's a clone, All clones are based off Jango. BOBA was made for Jango as part of a deal, because he wanted a son. This is explained in Attack of the clones on Kamino.
He sure did!
Love this figure and great review of it. PS I wish the display base was either sandy like his death site or it was like Kamino
Oh true!
Fair enough!
Awesome review Justin, I do agree with the likeness though. The pictures they had for the figure, the headsculpt looked so much better. Awesome figure nonetheless, waiting for mine to ship!
Thank you!
I wonder what the poncho on with the helmet looks like
Not sure I didn’t try it lol
Justin do you think the pleathering parts requires rubbing lotion to protect them from wearing and peeling off over time ?
Not sure mine is fine so far
I think his helmet got dented during his fight with Obi Wan when Obi Wan used his grapple hook against him which caused his first jet pack to fly off and be destroyed.
Theres a whole lore behind it
The clone troopers are older than jango as they age faster. In the attack of the clones, I feel jango definitely looks younger and skinner
Oh
Good grief this figure is good, head sculpt controversy or not. I’m getting pretty close to telling TW to just change my order to first batch lol
He is!
Honestly I don’t think the head sculpt is bad at all BUUUT I do think they’ve made him look too young slightly
Fair!
Wonderful review.. mine should be here next week. You've raised the excitement level of getting a figure yet again bro.
Thank you! You're going to love him!
Idk what the debate is in the color of his flight suit is, I just skimmed through the movie to his scenes and in the movie it's slightly darker than the HT figure but the HT figure it's pretty close
Fair
The only thing I’ll complain about is that he doesn’t have his umbrella
LOL
Great review as always. I think the head portrait looks like Tony Shaloub, Monk and Galaxy Quest. 🤔
Who?
@@JustinsCollection - actor from Monk, Thirteen Ghosts, and Galaxy quest.
I was confused with those objects, but I think it was Jetpack menders
Yeah!
