The uneven distribution of light along the full length of the blade may be resolved by creating a frosted or scratched surface on the inside or core of the translucent plastic blade which would run along its entire length in order to capture the light, thus maintaining the intensity of the light all throughout the length of the blade. The concept of light being reflected by microscopic etchings on the inner core of the plastic blade is similar to 3D Crystal photos. Hope Hot Toys would consider this suggestion if they still insist on using removable plastic blades and not ccfl custom led light sabers.
These are high end collectibles worth $200-$300 and for that price they’re using fake ass leather, where is that $200-$300 going into, the headsculpt? It’s like they’re using pleather as a shortcut out of sculpting the boots and belt, and using other materials for the robes because they’re too lazy to do it, which is showing how cheap they’re being. Like if they can’t afford to use leather, okay then use anything other than that goddamn pleather. And it’s like they’re using pleather as a guarantee that you’ll buy another figure from them.

To put it in perspective, a lot of people do just display figures on a regular book shelf where the lighting is much dimmer than a dedicated display cabinet.

Terrific review, the robe he comes with and the robot hand don't seem film accurate. I'm pretty sure the robot hand didn't have wires and looked like seamless chrome metal
now that we have a padawan Anakin, when will we get a padawan Obi Wan. I know Sideshow did one along with Hasbro but I'd love to see a Phantom Menace Obi Wan to go along with Qui Gon. Since when has that stopped Hot Toys?
Im waiting on mine to be delivered, so im a bit bummed out the head sculpt isn't exactly like the prototype! Having said that, i still like the sculpt and can see Haydens likeness! As for the LED sabers, I have the 2 sabers from AOTC pre made in CCFL, and they are gonna like fantastic on this figure!
I Think the likeness here it's beter than the episode 3 figure, despite like you said the logic would be that the episode 3 one would be easier to get it right... the neck i feel it's a bit too short but amazing figure, and we should all right a letter to HT for still using fake leather !
This figure was 1500hkd in Hong Kong, that’s about 192usd. To be honest I would’ve paid to have a real leather version and an electromagnetic body for the sabers. But at this price I don’t think it’s possible for all those features for a licenced figure. And I do prefer to have a cheaper option for these things especially since hottoys does multiple figure lines
I believe the electronics would be possible. Real leather is not necessary. They can use a waxed material like we saw for the teased version of anakin from the Kenobi series when they announced the 501st clones.

But you said it usb cable should be included!! Pleather pleather pleather, oh I hate it. I get upset when I see my Crow figure and his jacket and pants are all flakey! I feel I tossed my money away! What can apply to the pleather to make it last but not compromise the softness/mobility of the pleather??? Because Hot Toys isn’t going to stop using it! Because we keep buying their figures! Yes the look awesome and that’s why we get them. But when you see that pleather flacking and all those flacks covering the floor on your display case, man It really makes you wonder why I’m still collecting these! Nothing last forever, that’s a fact. The head sculpt not to bad but it isn’t a ten. Did they fire the sculptures? Why are we missing two Obi Wans? We need and Episode 1 & 2. The Mandalorian one is pretty similar, plus it just says swoop bike unlike all the other scout trooper speeder bikes. So I'd defiantly go with the neutral, close looking swoop bike for Anakin!

I've seen you mention the "new" swooshing effect for lightsaber on newer figures but going back through your videos of star wars characters at reveal events I still haven't seen the new one, what figures have the new version I want to see what it looks like.
I don't own any priced Action Figures (yet). If I did, since it would be 1 or a few ones, I would change the pose quite often so the pleather is kind of a deal breaker
Do you use any kind of treatment products to protect the pleather? I was looking at 303 Protectant. It does suck, though. We shouldn’t have to even think about that on figures that cost as much as Hot Toys.
The problem with the Jedi robes is that the material is too thick and if it was made of something thinner and the hoods are supposed to be oversized than what they are for these figures then it would sit just right on shoulders and look flush along with the wire of course much much better.
I collected them, I collected all of them. They're all mine's every single one of them. And not just the men, but the women and children figures. They're like animals, and they slaughtered my wallet like animals. I love them.

I'm not sure why you don't like the fanning lightsaber blade. A swinging lightsaber creates a blur with straight edges just like the one provided. There would be no curve.

Boy, they really screwed up on the mechanical hand. No articulation, and they sculpted in the big, silver cable-control lever used by the FX technicians to work the prop. And which wouldn’t be on the “real”, in-universe hand.

usb power is not a fiasko! it is necesary for many figures, but HT does not understanf it., I own Iron Man from final battle, it has 18!!!! batteries inside. I hate to turn on all the lights, it is so boring((
I think you nailed it in one of your other reviews, I think it was Vader. It's a business decision. If they gave us leather, then there is no reason for us to get the next figure other than maybe an updated headsculpt. Pleather guarantees them income every 5 or so years by releasing a reissue or 2.0. That being said, you should never stop advocating for the best possible figure. Riley constantly is doing his fix black suit tobey hashtag and I constantly call out Hot Toys for the neck bulge spideys, single jointed arms, and visible jointed figures. We're paying hundreds of dollars per figure. We have the right to ask for the best
@@JustinsCollection I get why people say this, but I approach figures from a customisation standpoint, so for me the main draw is just the headsculpt. A custom headsculpt from scratch costs just as much as a HT figure, if not more, so for me it's always worth it just for the headsculpt. I feel that I can always commission or create custom 'upgrades' on the accessories at a later date. But I do understand not everyone approaches this from a customising standpoint, and some only look at it as an investment.

usb power is not a fiasko! it is necesary for many figures, but HT does not understanf it., I own Iron Man from final battle, it has 18!!!! batteries inside. I hate to turn on all the lights, it is so boring((

I think you nailed it in one of your other reviews, I think it was Vader. It's a business decision. If they gave us leather, then there is no reason for us to get the next figure other than maybe an updated headsculpt. Pleather guarantees them income every 5 or so years by releasing a reissue or 2.0. That being said, you should never stop advocating for the best possible figure. Riley constantly is doing his fix black suit tobey hashtag and I constantly call out Hot Toys for the neck bulge spideys, single jointed arms, and visible jointed figures. We're paying hundreds of dollars per figure. We have the right to ask for the best

@@JustinsCollection I get why people say this, but I approach figures from a customisation standpoint, so for me the main draw is just the headsculpt. A custom headsculpt from scratch costs just as much as a HT figure, if not more, so for me it's always worth it just for the headsculpt. I feel that I can always commission or create custom 'upgrades' on the accessories at a later date. But I do understand not everyone approaches this from a customising standpoint, and some only look at it as an investment.

Oh sorry! I only have 2 tuskens unfortunately and I wouldn’t want to ruin their poses, I’m really happy with them!

I would imagine that people are getting mad at you because they think you sound like a negative Nancy when talking about it so much. Though personally, I don’t think you do as the pleather is a serious issue and has been for a long time.

It's a serious issue, but it's hardly a surprise they are still using it. I presume if they ever switched they would have made a big deal about it in the description.
