The detail on this figure is incredible. Even the one eye being slightly more open than the other is done purposefully, in the movie Batman always has a contact lens in one eye that records what he sees
@@mcguzman5398 did i say that its a bad thing? bad thing is if they aren't in competition, they wont make too much of an effort like this e.g Blue batman in The Flash movie
@@loadeddiper5634well yeah, that’s always been the concept. it’s a principle in economy, competition breeds better products at a better price between competitors.
I watched the whole review. Very impressive figure and accessories. I think this is a great example of why competition is important. Hot Toys is feeling the heat from inart and wanted to show off what they could do. Without inart this set would be nowhere close to what it is. We can thank them for pushing Hot Toys.
Technically, my first 1/6 purchase ever, about 18 months ago. It's nice to know it'll be worth the wait, and come full circle, as a best figure contender, especially after acquiring about 40+ figures since July.
@@ignaciodejesus1502 lol, yeah, it was on life support until I started selling some pieces I didn't love and some excess audio gear. I purchased about 90% of them preowned on forums, but like most newbs, I went all-in too fast.
I never interpreted his use of the squirrel suit as a fail. It's a glider for escaping a bad situation so it served its purpose well. Sure, the landing was anything but smooth, but he got away!
The little silver details on the tips of his fingers are from one of the opening scenes of the movie, he grabs a thug by the neck and tazes him with those prongs
I watched another review and he had trouble putting the Pattinson head on with the cape too. It would make sense that it was supposed to be used without the cape. Idk how I'll display mine. So many options. I got my bike yesterday. Massive piece. I love it. Figure of the year for my collection
It looks really good but personally I think the inart one will look better because i think the proportions on the hot toys look off. The chest plates are a little to hight up and something looks off with the neck/ shoulder area.
@JustinsCollection amazing review Justin! Can't wait to get mine. One thing I'm worried about though and I didn't see this listed in the product description is whether the base batman comes with the wired cape or if that was exclusive to the deluxe
A yellow light source does not project a distinctly strong silhouette or shadow when shone over an object, whereas white light does. I know this because I tried making batman signals as a kid as well. It makes sense that Hot Toys choose practicality over screen accuracy with regards to the Bat Signal.
Justin, you have outdone yourself bro! 1hr long vid? I am here for all of it. Best hot toys release ever? Probably. Best Justin video ever? Definitely! Love how you go into so much more of this than other reviews. The silver tips on the fingers, the backdrop matching with the second base cover, etc. Well done man.
GREAT review and yeah, I make no apologies for also saying Batfleck is my favorite live-action Batman. Pattinson's The Batman may be my favorite Batman "movie".
Great review as always !!! I just ordered the deluxe with the bat signal and i'm super excited , also got the new 1989 batman deluxe and honestly looks great , the texture on the suit is not that annoying as people saying lol
Fantastic review, thank you Justin! I spotted one thing and wondered if anyone else had: as far as I'm aware, the cape should sit over the shoulder pads rather than under them. Also, the point you raised about where the cape sits behind the chest plate - you're correct and on Hot Toys promo pics, the cape seems to sit where it should behind that plate... 🤷

Awesome poses! Your passion for the movie and figure really shines in this review! Can't wait to get mine! Is that a custom rock display piece? I see it a lot in your reviews
Totally agree about Batfleck. He was definitely the most comic-accurate in design, movement, and combat, and his performance was awesome. Pattinson is incredible though, and I can't wait to see the next The Batman movies and shows!
I love this longer review! Any time a new hot toys is released I wait for your review as you got through every detail and piece they come with very thorough. Awesome review as always Justin. God, this figure looks absolutely amazing. Can confirm his belt is a repurposed police belt! I’ve got one myself for my Rick grimes cosplay. The basketweave is definitely a good telltale sign. Those pouches on the front are probably repurposed mag pouches or containers of some kind.
Sorry for being late to the party, but phenomenal review, man!! Fun little question I had but what updates/upgrades would you wanna see them make to the batsuit in The Batman part 2? Keep being awesome!
Had mine preordered from Sideshow the first day they released it. Fully paid, kept waiting and waiting, finally cancelled it because I got so tired of waiting. Glad the figure turned out great. Maybe I’ll pick it up in the future.
I am 100% with you about aflec being my favorite batman. I can't say the same about the movies he was in, but he definitely fit the role better than anyone. I truly wish he got his own set of actually good movies.
This figure is amazing and I absolutely love it. The only thing that was really, really disappointing was that the cheaper collector edition does not come with the sticky bomb gun. It has the cannister, an empty holster, and even pictures him holding it on the box but there's no gun and no hand to hold it. Massive cop out on a $300 figure. Only major letdown for me when I finally got my hands on it.
He actually did use the sticky bomb! Just not from the gun, if you pay close attention you noticed during the last leg of the movie when Batman is fighting in the stadium on the ceiling lights, he explodes a lithium battery or fire extinguisher that blows smoke everywhere, that was the only time he used that gadget in the movie (:
I was waiting for this! Great review! I didn’t pick this up because it didn’t look as accurate as the inart figure (the finish/ texture on his chest isn’t quite right, much better that the prototypes though. Also like you said the cape should be split in the middle and should be over the shoulder pads). The bat signal is very cool, I might pick it up, and the bat cycle is pretty cool as well. The main accessory that I want though is the Batmobile! But the only one is from JND and that was very expensive and sold out! Also if your interested in the costume a while back I found a forum with lots of information on materials and specific items for the costume, they figured out the exact clips used on his holster which is insane! Anyway, great video, I can’t wait for Inart’s figure to release!
He looks fantastic. I now feel completely confident grabbing him. I'm sure InArt will be as amazing if not better, but I'm comfortable with the Hot Toys pricing.
Great looking figure and the bat signal is amazing accessory. I really cant wait to pick this one up. This is definitely the best Batman movie in all cinematic terms. I loved it. But i just love Batman. Weird how much flak they took for the eye shadow from casual fans. But i think a lot of people just hate Pattinson because he was in twilight.
Honestly, it's been a long, long while since I've watched an extensive action figure review. And especially since it's you reviewing and it's from The Batman, I'm all for it. Worth the hour!
I've seen alot of people sharing the same thing here, I pre-ordered this figure 18-19 months back and this was my first figurine technically, I've picked up around 8 since then. Hope to collect more!
Fantastic review! Can't remember the number of times I checked my RUclips feed to see if your review for this one was up, and it was well worth the wait! Nearly an hour long, what a super effort! Lot of work went into this one, really appreciate it as always! I too was apprehensive about Pattinson, but absolutely loved the movie & Hot Toys have outdone themselves as you said. Can't wait for this one!
I wish that Hot Toys would get to the point that they could incorporate good articulation in their figures without sacrificing seamless presentation and screen accuracy.
Another inaccuracy would be how curved the chest blade is compared to the actual prop. The base of the blade to the tip is curved way too far into the chest armor. The blade is slightly curved but not to the degree the figure is displaying
Regarding the bikes Fairing. It looks like it was a Bikini Fairing off a Bike that has had the Windshield taken out. I really like Patterson as The Batman. I keep watching the Film.
Even if the Inart one looks a little better, this one is still the better value. For just over $500, you get the figure, bike, and batsignal. Inart is like $500 for just the figure.
The only hottoys figures I ever got was the first DX joker, the first dark knight Batman, and the wolf predator from AVPR. I preordered this figure day 1 and the wait has been killing me!
He used the sticky bomb gun off screen in the movie but it is confirmed that when he blew up the glass ceiling at the end that was due to him using the sticky bomb gun. But you are right we don't see him use it but he does use it in the film. Also to me a slight inaccuracy to the figure is the colour of the suit, hot toys made it a little too dark. The IRL suit is actually a lighter grey but otherwise great figure and great in depth review!!
Hi Justin. Hope all is well with you . I really wanted this figure and I may still get it. I completely fell in love with this Batman. He had such a new and dark twist to Batman. The dark and rainy depiction in the film made me think of being in NY at night, NY is my hometown and the movie felt like that for me. What more can be said about this figure? So much and so many amazing things about it! It’s so incredible. From this amazingly detailed box for vengeance and packaging to the rough and hand constructed look of the suit, it’s so remarkable. I just love the fanfare of it all. He’s presented in an appropriate fashion with the darkness, explosions and symbols surrounding him. Pattinson made this role his own and there are so many layers. The reconfiguration of the base is cool. I noticed the weapons that are part of this figure, it’s great to have these. Thank goodness those faceplates look just like the character, it’s so much fun to see the variety of options for this figure. I didnt know anything about Batarangs, I’ll need to pick up that concept art book. I just can’t see much off with this figure and while the angry mouth plate isn’t perfect, I think this figure is perhaps the most detailed and well thought out when it comes to features. He’s such a beautiful sculpt, with a rough and ready look and I agree that he’s got seemless head sculpt joints. My goodness there is so much to say about how good this figure looks. I agree Pattinson is slender and looks on point here, the textures in the suit do look outstanding. I picked up a pricey joker figure for my best friend for Christmas, maybe he got this one for me for the holiday. If not, I want this figure now even more than ever. Thanks so much for this excellent review and Happy Holidays 💎😊
Batman uses the sticky bomb launcher off screen before the skylight explodes during the scene where everyone is in the Gotham stadium, if I’m correct, also the silver tips on the finger is what he used to tase the leader of the Jokerz gang at the start of the movie.
From what I have seen of the Inart prototype pieces and this Hot Toys production figure, this wins when it comes to the accessories. I also think the likenesses here looks better for both the Batman and Bruce Wayne portraits, I am one of the few who thinks the changes Inart has made to their sculpts has gone backwards from the first shots Inart gave us and the prototype Justin covered in Vegas. I prefer the detail, proportions and materials on the Inart work-in-progress. Whatever version you get, this looks to be a win win. Happy new year to you Justin and your family.
Ben Affleck's Batman actually has an in-universe explanation for no black eye makeup You can see in BvS when the cowl is off in the Batcave etc that it connects to his eyelids as well So, it's dumb comic book-y fantasy tech but that is the reason for it
The detail on this figure is incredible. Even the one eye being slightly more open than the other is done purposefully, in the movie Batman always has a contact lens in one eye that records what he sees

I think he’s definitely worth getting! I hope your friend enjoys the Joker!
Batman uses the sticky bomb launcher off screen before the skylight explodes during the scene where everyone is in the Gotham stadium, if I’m correct, also the silver tips on the finger is what he used to tase the leader of the Jokerz gang at the start of the movie.
Thanks!
Agreed
I've been waiting for this review, Justin. I really loved this figure!
Me too!
Ben Affleck's Batman actually has an in-universe explanation for no black eye makeup
You can see in BvS when the cowl is off in the Batcave etc that it connects to his eyelids as well
So, it's dumb comic book-y fantasy tech but that is the reason for it
Oh interesting
