I will mention (since it's been brought up across a few videos now) that the weird, green patina on Rex's armor is actually accurate to the character. Given that his armor is actually older (he welded parts of his Phase 1 armor to replace the Phase 2 issue in universe), it's just more beat up and dingier overall. This is more easily noticed in the Clone Wars season 5/6 images of him (the lighting changes of the final season definitely made things look a bit more uniform, so the effect is harder to see there).

Since Hot Toys can make Arc Troopers in live action style. Lets hope they can make Clone Commandos in live action style.

I personally like how they chose a more dirty look for rex's armour as its been through the whole clone wars as well as being kit bashed together with his older phase 1

The greenish tint on Rex is supposed to be that way. I wondered why Hot Toys did that, so I went back to a few episodes of Clone Wars. And....His armor does have a greenish discoloration!
Sidenote: The colored buttons on his left gauntlet are for remote communications.

Oh it’s not an old background. If you think about it how could I film a white figure on a white background you would see nothing as the whites mix. So for bright figures I use the dark background

These reviews are pretty awesome. I've been thinking of getting the 501st legion clone and the Jesse figure and the stormtrooper commander and turning it into a heavy assault stormtrooper (The heavy repeater blaster being his primary and painting his pauldron black with the back pack and ammo pack from Jesse)

I absolutely can’t wait to get my hands on him I will say my only nickpick with him is that I wish he came with a range finder and and his story reel helmet but this figure definitely sets us up to get Echo and Fives at some point and definitely got my fingers crossed they ain’t too far away

I think around 1:40 the blaster is supposed to blend in with the background so the blue colour stand out on Jesse but I could be wrong and gain great video

This figure is done so good. The detail is crazy. The weathering/distress is also extremely good. It just makes it look so much better. I do agree though. The brown looks out of place. Coffee or chocolate stain lol. The head sculpt is great too but I agree. I would show it with the bucket on.
The stock for the rifle? It doesn’t make sense. And, the biggest complaint though on accessories is hands. They just aren’t delivering as many options anymore. What the heck? Aargh!
Over all this is a great figure. It looks fabulous. I don’t remember what you call the shoulder pieces but your recommended suggestions would have been great as options so you can pose properly for shooting poses.
I think he may be their best clone yet even with coffeegate haha

Clones from hot toys are always bangers now but yes that pauldron is a burden. I wish it was made out of more flexible material. Being able to pose figures like this is a must and the pauldron just hinders that

Phase 2 Fives, Phase 1.5 Colt, Echo, Blitz & Havoc when Hot Toys? Arc Troopers just look super cool. Thos with the Bad Batch being made into Hot Toys, I kinda want to see a reg Clone Commando as bulky as the Battlefront 2 are.

Justin! I don't know if you'll see this, but when comparing the Jesse with the Sideshow Echo and Fives, are the DC 17 blaster pistols the same size? I'm working on converting a bunch of spare Sideshow parts into a new Arc trooper on a hot toys body, and I've got pretty much everything except for the blaster pistols, and the old Sideshow ones are pretty hard to come by these days. I was wondering if they were close enough in size to use the Hot Toys blasters with the Sideshow holsters. Thanks for you're time, and as always excellent review!

Hi Justin, I really dig your reviews... I have been collecting for multiple years. While I really love that Hot Toys is delivering these awesome clone variants; I feel they are taking the easy way out. There are lots of characters that are missing and I would love it if you would make a video on those missing characters; figures like Andor... now that we have a series and movie; you think we'd get the main character. Same thing with Baze? I mean geez... in original trilogy we still dont have an imperial Death Star trooper or officer. Where is Bespin Han, AT-AT Driver, Tie Fighter Pilot? What about all the bounty hunters, Bosk, Dengar? While I love Mando... we've gotten 4 variants in as many years. how about Greef Karga or Migs Mayfeld? thanks a bunch

Jesse died on the Venator while rex and Ashoka try and escape it in a Y-wing bomber.(the venator crash’s on a moon) And we know he dies because Ashoka looks over all the troopers that died including Jesse 😢. It was a sad scene.

He is an ARC Trooper, no idea why they refer to him as "Clone Trooper" when every Clone Trooper is a Clone Trooper. Maybe just having "Jesse" is too generic of a name and they can't trademark it.

It’s not that he’s not an arc trooper, it’s that arc troopers are also clone troopers. Arc is a division of clone troopers. So calling him clone trooper Jesse is still accurate just not using his highest title. I think hot toys did that for consistency between all the clones.
