The floppy thing on the DC-15c is supposed to be a stock, and how it worked was that it would flip open and go through the handle, and the back part would become the buttstock (similar to those foldable stocks you see on Klashkinov-style guns). Unfortunately, it seems like they forgot to drill a hole within the stock so the handle can slip through
why in the world would they design a gun this way? it is so remarkably bizarre that they designed the entire gun, only to either not be aware of what it does or to intentionally leave it out. I dont think i’ve ever seen Hot Toys make such a muzzling puzzling error.
@@julythrunov What makes it even more bizarre is that it is never used. Nowhere within the prequels, the clone wars, or any of the video games is this gun shown with the stock unfolded
@@thenamelesschannel1463 even if that were the case. What Star Wars has done so well, is to include elements that perhaps aren’t used, but suggest a real world application. A fold out stock, may never actually be used, but it’s inclusion is essential for the world world-lived in feel, that gives that universe so much credence.
I'm not an avid Clone Wars collector but I've always loved that OG Phase 1 regular Clone Trooper look since I was a kid. Having just 1 of these on the shelf with that Hot Toys touch is more than enough for me.
@Justin's Collection As far as I know, that thing on the DC-15A carbine is an under folding stock. The only time I saw it being used is when Savage attacked the jedi temple on Devaron, the clone commander has it unfolded.
I think that the rocket launcher not being hollow is actually more accurate and could just be a protective cover that stops debris from entering the tube like what you see on the AT-4, NLAWS, and Javelin missiles in real life that is blown off by the rocket as it fires
I love the clones, I grew up watching the clone wars and with the revenge of the with always fresh on my mind as a little kid I loved clones. I wish I could buy one of these beautiful collectors figures but don’t have the space or money for one at the moment.
I use to say phase 1 but not it's hard to decide and honestly my favorite armors are the in between and advanced stuff of cap rex and the arc troopers respectively.
I'm debating if this is better than the 501st version and I'm kind of on the side of the reg version. I love the 501st trooper but it's kind of limited to only 332 and 501st. This reg could be part of any battalion, and that versatility is really nice.
Thank god, they did fix the missing blue stripes on the phase 2 helmet. Too bad, they didnt fix the wide V mouth and the lack of back red light on the Phase 1.
I know I sound like a boring, typical prequels fan but my favorite helmet design is Phase 2. It doesn't look as dopey as the Stormtrooper helmet, and not as strange-looking (in my opinion) as the Phase 1 helmet. It just looks more serious and high-techy with all its small details.
Phase 1 Clones are the quintessential “good guys.” I’ll never forget playing Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds on the PC. The clones would always say, “Good guys wear white.” 🔥
One things that still pissess me off to this day is the DC 15 blaster in star wars battlefront 2, and I'm talking about the one made by EA. For some reasons they made that blaster so ungodly small that it almost looks like every clone is picking up a TV remote and holding it like it's blaster. I wish they would have made it more size accurate like here with the figure
My first day has a member of the 501 it was hot it was sandy chaos nothing at all like the simulations on Kimono all that breading of those years of training it doesn’t really prepare for the screaming and the bloody desert frankly I’m still amazed that we survived the first hour never mind the first day. Remarkably the 501 survived the battle of generous emerged battle hardened and ready for what ever war could throw at us
Only regret I have is that I only got one and now they’re impossible to find. Hoping the ROTS anniversary comes with a rerelease! I’d buy half a dozen if I got another chance 😂 Thanks for the awesome review. Glad to have you back and feeling better!
Comparison to a shiny Stormtrooper, even one with weathering like the Stormtrooper Commander, would have been most ideal now that we're in a paradigm where they're making more accurate, live-action armor for the Kenobi 501st clone. IMO the community is giving Hot Toys a pass on giving the armor the sheen it's supposed to, not the near straight matte look of when CGI in the early 2000s couldn't handle giving the proper gloss.
You should totally make a custom CT-5539 or (Hock) from one of the comics. simply just do a red line down his right side of his helmet and bam, you got Hock.
You're right that the Phase 1 bucket does look a little too big; the proportion if off just very very slightly… I've always preferred the Phase 2 look anyway (unless you bring in Rex’s hybrid, which is by far the best look, imo) 😄
I collect 1/12 scale but this figure makes me want to collect 1/6 there just too expensive and I already have a 1/12 collection so but this is a great figure great review Justin
@@JustinsCollection yep, it’s just the fact you always come across as enthusiastic and down to earth. Like I said before. Your humor is a great part of what you do. Never forced just naturally who you are. Great content and always entertaining.
In almost every depiction of phase 1 troopers the fin is separate from the rest of the helmet, I‘m assuming the designer looked at Battlefront II for the design rather than the movie
I just received a Scout Trooper/Speederbike combo. I can't figure out how to put the canister on his back. It's meant to hook on his belt, but it doesn't.
I'm not gonna lie I'm a bit disappointed with the 501st ratchet hips, I wasn't aware of it when I purchased it and I hate them so much cause you can never get it standing at a good angle!
You're not going crazy - yeah the Phase 1 helmet looks big, but it's a problem in the original design, which was always so top heavy and so long vertically it made the body look small. The Roman/Mohawk bit makes things even worse (beyond being a very on the nose visual pun in terms of military analogies). There's too much negative space between the head and the torso making it look all bobbleheaded. And with both the Phase 2's form and all the decals even on P1 to change the visual weight and use the colour to lead the eye through and so on they realised what the original stormtrooper design and well as the medieval based Mando bucket did so well in terms of making them look beefy and tough with a more unbroken line down to the body. The stormtrooper with the gas mask pipes/collar led the curves from the head to the shoulders and body in a couple of big thuggish bumps. Not like the under-the-chin dorkiness here. I know, partly subjective. And if you saw it as a kid you generally just loved it regardless. Shape language and caricature as a design element is a huge storytelling thing in SW. Look at Vader's insect eyes, skeletal cheekbones and bared lower 'teeth' along with the flared nazi/samurai helmet and so on. And while for me/personally the Phase one helmet is a rare stumble, it's a great fig and so happy it came with the phase 2! Thanks for the review! P.S. Careful what you wish for with bases. At least we escaped the sand base with footprints standing in for Geonosis *this* time! 😄
I just got into hot toys and missed out on literally everything. This is the one i wanted the most. Will these be in stock again ever? I cant afford $300 plus when trying to make a squad.
