Bogner has that perfect mix of a Marshall and Mesa MARK tone that is sooo good. The JBE sounds great, but I would take the Bogner any day. Thanks for the vid.
I imagine the bogner sounding really big and punchy with a bit darker thicker guitar. Kind of. Just something I imagine hearing inside my head that would sound very sweet 💪🏻🙏🏻🔮
@@primaballerina84 Maybe! I don’t have any Les Pauls at the moment (I’ve always been more of a Fender guy). Remember Jerry used this amp with a VERY bright guitar: his “Blue Dress” G&L that’s made of maple with an ebony fretboard and a Kahler trem. Bright!!
@@phoenixbt Thanks! I didn't like the Pandora at all. I sold it very quickly. Not like the Snorkler at all. Much darker, thicker, and chewier. Hard to dial in. Pandora has less gain than the Snorler but more versatility.
I preordered it by talking to my rep at Sweetwater, but I would assume any bogner dealer can do a pre-order if you have an aversion to them or prefer a specific seller.
Snorkler sounds a little bit more grinding and more present to my ears. Maybe it would cut better in a band context and be less pleasant when playing solo?
Snorkler will definitely cut more in a band context. It also sits pretty nicely in a recording without a ton of EQ because of its lean low end and notched midrange. But you would definitely want a low pass filter on it around 6k to tame the top end presence. I also would have lowered the presence a little if I had to do the EQ again for this video. Maybe 8.
I thought the Bogner sounded great with a slight edge to the Friedman ! The compressed sound of the Bogner may be for some ! I personally prefer the open sound of the Friedman amps , not to mention how much it responds to your personal touch ! Just my 2 cents , opinions, ya know ! Great job making this video ! Cheers 👍👊🫵

I really appreciate you talking about the feel of the amps. Its such an important thing which you don't get from the sound alone.

Once you hear that the Man In the Box chords are the same as Kiss’ Calling Dr. Love, you can’t unhear it
Both great songs!
😅 I thought i was hearing that!
Awesome comparison, Mike. Really thoughtfully done. These two would probably pair nicely together in a mix.
Man, that Snorkler really has me researching on getting one….
Great vid! I think the Bogner sounds kind of like a buzzy distortion plus MXR in a good way. Its that buzzyness that recalls Maiden/Rhoads. Well done!
couldn't have said it better
I like the Friedman Marshall better.
BOGNER for me. Would be great to hear this BOGNER up against a JEL 50 next.
Would love to get my hands on a JEL50 at some point
@@eldoradoguitars6456 IMHO it is friedmans best amp yet. It does the Jtm45, the Plexi, the 800, the 900 SLX
@@CS_Murphy_R9 I used to have a JEL100. Very cool amp. I used to run it in 50w mode a lot. Hoping the JEL50 is similar.
The video we’ve been waiting for!
Your definitely right , the jj is darker but that crispy mids on the snorkel sounds tight
Snorkler sounds clearer to my ears and mpre percussive, with a more dynamic feel. I'd like to try iy along with my Helios Eclipse

oh my god
I’ve had a Helios 100, XTC Classic, and Pandora XTC. Never the Eclipse unfortunately.
@@eldoradoguitars6456 Ahhhh pity. I got an Eclipse and was trying to figure out whether it's worth keeping once I'll have the Snorkler.
How do you like your Pandora? Can you get close to the Snorkler tones at all with it?
Great demos btw, thanks for posting. Sounds killer!

They both sound so good
Snorkler sounds plate fed TS, Friedman cathode follower with clippers.
Compare them with Les Paul ?
Would running both of them at the same time be the perfect amp?
Just double track one right and the other left imo
friedman sounds really good, snorkler sounds
near perfect
Snorkler for me. So clear.
Need to dial a little more bass and turn down the treble on the bogner
vote forfriedman
Quick question, where and how did you order the snorkler? Bogner website ain’t working haven’t seen any on reverb
@@geneparmesan8827 call Sweetwater and ask for Bill Sears. Tell him you saw the video. He’ll hook you up.

Thanks man! I love Friedman amps and that modded Marshall is my favorite amp of all time. Dave knows what's up!
