    Mesa and VH4 were my fav. I'd sell the VHT. The Marshall and Friedman tones were just okay, to my ears and based on my preferences, but I liked them slightly more than the VHT.

    Just a general comment about selling used gear right now. Sadly, unless you're planning on parting ways with something pretty rare and sought after, the used market is absolutely flooded with stuff right now. Be prepared to go into momentary shock when you see what people are willing to pay right now. It's just a super bad time to be unloading gear right now unless you absolutely have to. I've reached the age where the time has come to part with about half of my collection. That = 32 guitars and 12 amps,some combos and some heads. When I saw what people were willing to pay currently, I withdrew everything. I'd rather hold on to it and if it comes to it, leave it for better times and my kids can sell it. Tough times right now out there in used land unless you're a buyer. In that case, it's the golden era. Cheers and good luck to all

      Yeah, the market is tough right now. I'm going to make a non-playing video about that soon. Good news is that these amps are all pretty desirable so I think they'd sell at a reasonable price given the market. But you're right -- don't sell right now unless you have to.

    If an amplifier absolutely needs rehoming out of these 4, my vote is for the VHT. The others came across better to my ears with their own character and sonic palette that kept them distinguishable. The Diezel was my favorite but the Mesa and Bogner are too close for me to call with one guitar.

    They all sound great lol. Before watching this I would have said the Mesa Mark III but it sounded amazing. You have 2 Diezels? Sell one of those. I don’t think I would sell any of those amps.

    • @eldoradoguitars6456
      @eldoradoguitars6456  3 месяца назад +1

      Yeah the Mark III++ is a totally different animal from a stock Mark III. I thought it sounded killer here. Thick and saturated but with incredible definition.
      The two Diezels are pretty different despite being only two years apart. The 2002 is a Blueface spec with far less gain, voiced much darker, less compressed, and very raw sounding.

  • @johnmarshall3903

    The Boogie would be long gone.

  • @SlimeyGuitarStrings
    @SlimeyGuitarStrings 3 месяца назад

    They all sound incredible. I was thinking the Mesa III++ would be a standout slouch, but I actually thought it sounded the best of the four on its own. I feel like the Bogner and the Diezel were the least appealing, but at the same time I know they both do specific things. The Diezel was dark and had that big powerful sound which just feels like your guitar is about to hit someone like a freight train plowing through a car in its way. The Bogner had that bright compressed thing. The VHT sounded good, but it didn't stand out to me as a specific sound like the Bogner or the Diezel. If you want them for studio purposes, I would probably sell the VHT just because it doesn't do a specific sound (to my ears). If you want them for playing out, I would probably sell the Diezel because I tend to think that a more mid focused amp sounds better unless you're doing a whole stereo thing.

      Great feedback! I also wasn't sure about the Mark III++ -- I had originally figured I'd sell it because I have the IIC+ -- but I thought it killed in this comparison. It's juicy and thick while retaining incredible string definition. Plus it's very gig friendly since all four modes are easily balanced and fully footswitchable.

    Nice collection of amps. There are some mistakes about what you said about your Mark III. If it's a DRGX blue stripe, its a 75/15watt amp. Not the 100/60w as stated. The HRG amps were the 100/60w amps. This info is stated in the manual.

  • @jonathankidd7921
    @jonathankidd7921 3 месяца назад

    I’d sell the Mark, VH4 and Deliverance. The reason being you still have the VH4 and Mark tones covered in other amps. The VHT you can buy back at any point if you really wanted. Keep the Marshall and Bogner and put some of the funds towards a Wizard MTL or MCII.

      @@eldoradoguitars6456 NW Arkansas here. Mostly small clubs or bars so we see small amps miked. Eric Johnson played at George’s and used 2 Princeton Reverbs for his clean tone. His acoustic went into an LR Baggs Venue , direct box into the PA. He did have a small box Marshall into a 4x12 turned sideways so not sure what model it was for the dirty rhythm and leads. Pretty simple pedal, Fuzz face, Zendrive, tube driver and a couple of delays. Enjoying your videos, keep it going!

    To me the mesa was the best sounding amp you played. It had something in the mids that just stands out. The Diezel has that low end that is perfect in my opinion, but the VH4 is my favorite amp. I think the Bogner sounds good, but almost vanilla in a way. I have always felt that way about ecstasy’s. Everytume I hear someone playing them in a mix, they seem to lack character. Almost too perfect sounding.
    I would personally sell the Bogner, but I think you could maybe keep it and sell the VH4 since you have the blue face spec as well.

    • @eldoradoguitars6456
      @eldoradoguitars6456  3 месяца назад

      I also thought the Mesa sounded really good. Compressed and saturated while retaining a lot of clarity.
      The Diezel sounded great, too. A lot of wonderful harmonic content. Upon hearing the video now, I would increase the midrange on Chs 2 & 3 and lower the bass on Ch 2.
      The Bogner surprised me in this video. I love it in the room but compared to these other amps it sounds a bit flat and thin.

    @albertarmen4839 3 месяца назад

    Where's the overlap with any of the other amps you are keeping? That would be my question. The Mesa obviously does its midrange thing really well. The others are a bit more aligned tonally, albeit they have their specific cool variations on that theme. Liked em all... but if pressed I'd probably let the Diezel go, but that's purely a personal taste deal.
