I spent an entire freaking hour punching Zeus, then my finger got tired and I stopped and that’s when the ending started playing. KILL ME
You sure as hell killed zeus

Bro, wtf... 🤣
I thought the game was crash, or maybe it should to do, because of the freakin "o" Instruction still there, and when i stop, i realize that im an Psycho
@@insomnyact3595 you're no Psycho, it's the person who made it that way that's crazy
And at this moment, Kratos died as the God Of War and was reborn as the God of Boi!

Kratos has a giant hole in his stomach and he still doesn't die. Damn
Roger Camarena because he is god
He's the god of death & terror.
Roger Camarena because he was on the Phoenix
He is a demigod.
CAUSE ITS GODDAMN KRATOS
It's not a secret ending, it's part to the ending you just have to wait until the credits end.
Jairo Leon Jr. No sir it isn’t. I’ve played this game 7 times all the way to the end this is the first time I’ve seen this.. it is a secret ending ... maybe you have to beat the last boss fight without taking a single hit on expert I don’t know but it seems like so.. it’s a special ending and makes sense for the 4th installment
Cameron Espinosa Lol bro it’s not a secret ending. Doesn’t matter what difficulty you play on or how good you were through the story. Lmao everybody literally gets the same ending! Do your research bro
@@cameronespinosa5903 - It was literally just a post-credit scene.
@@cameronespinosa5903 "maybe you have to beat the last boss fight without taking a single hit on expert I don’t know but"
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
Beat this on normal, died and got hit many times on the boss fight, still got the teaser ending for God of War 4(aka Norse Gods) on the PS4 version. It's cool, definitely not a secret ending, just post credits. GG.
Nothing can kill this man. Not even his own self
Awsm Aidan right
so how he survived? *watche sa let play of it* will it be explained with big spoilers?
Link3000XD
He has becomed somenkind of death himself, fallen god cursed to live acording to cory barlog. Also my theory is as he has killed hades and thanatos, noone can drag his soul to underworld.
He has died so many times(once per major game) that he becomed death himself in shorts
Awsm Aidan Dante from devil may cry he kill kratos
I donno, maybe Loki can.
For those wondering how he survived, he literally killed the Gods of Death and Hell, as well as the Sisters of Fate. The man's soul had nowhere else aside his Body with a gaping hole in it.
and a curse of immortality
Plus he has Hades soul.
Yes in God of war 1 Athena said one who killed god cannot die by their own hands
What if Tyr found him and saved him?
@@medepallitanush9911 Why would Tyr do that, He and Kratos opposites. Plus, Kratos wanted to die, and I doubt Try would believe he could control Kratos, look at what everyone in Greek who tried to use him.
Just because Zeus didn’t pull out...

Rommel Camba Stopped at 30 min for me
i was doing it 25 minutes and all you had to do was step backwards
kam same I thought how long is this
I pressed circle for 10 seconds. I kinda figured the game would try to pull something like this.
Is a secret ending still a secret if everyone gets it? Seriously, it doesn’t matter what difficulty you finish the game on or how good you are at it, everyone gets the exact same ending.
Also, HOW ARE YOU ALL CONFUSED BY THE ENDING!? OK, let me try to explain. When Kratos opened Pandora’s Box at the end of the first game, the Gods got infected by all the evils that were in it. Kratos on the other hand got "infected" by the power of Hope. He did indeed use this power to kill Ares but unfortunately it was quickly buried by all his guilt and self-hatred. Everyone assumed Kratos drew on the power of the evils to kill Ares, with Athena believing the power of Hope was still trapped in the box. I mean, how would such a violent, vengeful, bloodthirsty man be able to wield Hope? Much later, near the end of God of War III, when Kratos opened the box again he found that it was empty (remember, the Gods had the evils while Kratos had Hope). During his near-death psyche sequence shown in this video, and thanks to Pandora’s influence from earlier in the game, he was able to finally forgive himself enough to regain that power and uses it to beat Zeus. Athena arrives and tells Kratos about how all the Gods were infected by the evils, and then demands that Kratos hand over the power of Hope to her. Based on her mannerisms here Kratos presumably came to the conclusion that she was infected by the evil of Greed. Couple that with his intense distrust of the Gods as well as him no longer wanting to be a pawn for them, he decides to give Hope to the few remaining people of Greece so they can hopefully (ah, see?) rebuild what they lost due to Kratos’ destructive vengeance. Either due to the curse the Oracle placed on him earlier in the series or due to his Demi-God status, Kratos was able to survive his suicide attempt.
The following isn’t shown, but through interviews before the 2018 game came out and from the official novelisation of the game, we can roughly assume the following happened:
Wanting to leave his bloody past behind him and move on, he patched himself up and left on a boat to find a new home, somewhere far away from everything and everyone he destroyed over the years, eventually landing in Norway. The only reminder of his past life he took with him were his Blades of Chaos, but not by choice. They kept finding their way to him despite his best efforts. They are a curse, a constant reminder of his past deeds. Knowing he can’t get rid of them he hides them nearby. Eventually he falls for a woman named Fay, and together they have a son: Atreus. And so begins God of War (2018).
I just beat the game and I feel pumped. I didn't catch on the part of athena getting infected with greed, which makes total sense based on her insistence. can't wait for black friday to buy God of War for 15 bucks lol.
This comment should be pinned.
You are fuckin' legend, Scottish!
Olaf Santos What he do wrong? How bout you STFU
Specifically: he *tried* to toss the blades somewhere deep in the Atlantic, and next thing he knows he's waking up in a fjord-- I'm betting Oslo or Stavanger, and the blades are right there next to him like "Nuh uh, bitch."

"Why won't you die!" Story of Kratos' life.
To everybody who's wondering how he "swam" to Norway,
IT'S CALLED A BOAT!
Also the world didn't end it was probably only Greece. It doesn't make sense for the Greek gods to control the fate entire earth rather than just their region.
I honestly think that world is fucked, he some how found a way to a new realm, where Norse is the main
In god of war mythologies are separated from galaxies when helios is killed the sun is covered in clouds but in god of war 4 the sun is not even covered with clouds
Rip no Greek food for the rest of the world
I just think of kratos was kidnapped and was sent to midgard for no reason.
It's also because he's Greek, and almost everyone knew how to swim.
Zeus: Go ahead Kratos there's nothing inside but darkness.
Kratos: *Finds item* Oh yeah then what is this

@@Inquisitor_Askeladd i'm talking about the video people use as a meme.
the one with dream on playing
Maybe I'm looking too much into it, but I think I see a hidden villain in this trilogy that is... Athena!
Here's my theory:
"In the Golden Age of the Olympian Gods, Athena plots the downfall of the gods and Olympus itself, by creating a prophecy that would become true through self-fulfilling means. With having stored Hope into Pandora's box, she lets the news of a prophecy reach Zeus's ears after choosing two brothers who could potentially become what she needed. While one is captured, the other is spared by Athena's request, a boy named Kratos.
Over the years, Athena helps form Kratos into the killer she wants, enough to catch the eye of Ares and become his servant. Knowing Ares will have Kratos's family killed, Athena uses this to her advantage of convincing him to kill Ares by using Pandora's box to release the evils of the world to infect the gods and Kratos himself, while Hope is still contained. However, unknown to her, Hope is release along with the evils of the world and possesses Kratos, while the evils of the world possess the gods, minus Athena. Despite this, Ares is killed and Kratos becomes the new God of War, after she saves him from suicide.
Using the death of his brother and Zeus's betrayal to make Kratos become more vengeful, Athena impales herself on Kratos's blade, making it seem she was protecting Zeus from his strike, when in reality she was making sure she died first before he did. Through unknown means or how she acquired the informtion, Athena becomes an entity that can't be killed, but still can travel between the realms of the living and the dead. But one ingredigent is still missing... the power of Hope.
Manipulating Kratos further, he succeeds in killing all of the gods and eventually opens the box for the second time. After killing Zeus, Athena prepares for the final phase of her plan and asks for what he took out of the box, only to find out it was empty all along. Realizing what had happened, she demands he give her Hope. However, her plan fails as he releases Hope to the world, leaving Athena in her current state without the power to become stronger than Zeus was. And is forced to remain a Limbo-like spirit."
Well, what do you think?
I agree athena was the real enemy.. so i loved the way kratos killed himself like he knew what her plan was.. the hope within the sword/pandora was kratos ressurection i think. A passage to a new godly world💪
Great theory bro! Athena is so manipulative.
Damn bro. Pitch that shit to Cory Barlog man
I like your theory a lot. Take in mind too that Athena, in the context of Greek mythology, was meant to symbolize the end to the cyclical toppling of successive pantheons (i.e. the transition of rule from the Titans to the Olympians) because she was both female and born out of unnatural circumstances. By your interpretation, the fact that Athena conspires for the fall of Olympus, shows the cycle is itself not bound to anything that could be viewed physically. Rather, the vicious cycle exists out of arrogance and hubris (i.e. Athena's convictions towards ruling as a more just goddess). While Kratos fits the archetype of the wayward son who will one day overthrow his father (like Zeus once was and Kronos before him), in a twist of fate, Kratos was actually the one person who represented the common folly present in Greek mythology: fear and the awareness of one's shortcomings, coinciding with Kratos' development as a character. It makes a lot of sense, thanks for clearing things up.
I think cory confirmed that
Can you imagine playing this scene with the door shut and your parents walk by to hear meat pounding and loud angry grunts...?
14:33
Spartans don't die, they're just missing in action....
1. How the hell did he survive?
2. How did the world itself survive?
3. How and why did he go to Norway?
lmfaooo Norway
oh im not sure at all, you could be right
The developers said Norway.
So yeah, he's somewhere in Norway.
There was nothing left in Greece for Kratos since everything there was dead, and Krato's actions of killing the Gods of Olympus only affected the area around Greece therefore the World was still okay, Apart from Greece of course.
@@bloombloom0494 Actually some gods and demi-gods are still alive (including Aphrodite). So Greece is still alive also but under control of Chaos. He could stay if he wanted to finish what he started, but decided to leave his past behind and start a new life as a new and better Kratos.
A hole in his damn body and he still lives. A legend.
He is not a legend. He is just cursed. Read his story at the wiki and you will understand.
@@shadowv6794 Being Greek myself, allow me to point out something about curses.
Curses were and still are pretty serious over here, to curse someone(especially if its directed at a relative) would mean a world of misfortune that usually ended with a bad death.
If Atreus knew about all the things his father did in Greece, I'm pretty he wouldn't have been so cocky lol
I thought the ending was weak considering how epic the rest of the game is. It does explain why the gods turned evil and Athena’s plan all along to rule.
Man, Athena’s manipulation skills are on par with Palpatine’s skill of manipulation and orchestrating events.
It's meant to be a tragedy.
Athena was corrupted by one of the evils as well.
You know, you could make the case that stabbing himself with the blade of Olympus returned god power to him. Explaining how he survived
10:26 As Kratos swims to reach the blue flame, his tattoo changes color from *Red* to *Blue* 😍
Caster Nitocris it's because the power(hope) came to him

Caster Nitocris the tattoo is just something kratos did in honor of his brother Deimos who had a birthmark with the same pattern

so kratos gave the power to the humans and any living creatures? ? athena said they won't know how to used it. does that mean the humans that survived will received the power? and thats how the Norse mythology begin?
Athena needed the power of hope to ascend all beings. She was tricking him til the very end; she NEEDED him to strike her with the blade for her to complete her ascension. The whole "How could you?!" line was all a ruse. He saw through her treachery. But... he survives this somehow. My question is... will she hunt him down?
What about the ghost-like being in the GOW4 demo? Could that be Athena, stalking Kratos and never letting him rest, always keeping him on his toes? I'd love it if Athena played at least some role in GOW4, despite it being set in Norse mythology.
That'd be interesting...
+iWillWakeYouUp lol...Athena got no guts to stand against kratos...
You speak as if she couldn't manipulate others once again. That's her whole thing.
The only reason the Gods got so scared of Kratos was because he opened Pandora's Box, the very box that contained Evil and Hope and and Athena must've Thought that someone like Kratos would receive all the Evil while all the other Gods recieved Hope but nope it was the opposite Kratos Recieved Hope while all the other Gods got infected by Evil.
Athena must've been plotting a plan to Take over Olympus all for herself because Zeus put away Pandora's box for a Good reason and didn't want anybody to open it,
And what does Athena do?!? she tells Kratos to Open it😑 from my point of view Zeus has no idea Kratos was gonna open Pandora's box because if he did knew then that would make him look like a Dumbass and it would be a Huge Plothole, but like i said Zeus didn't know Kratos was gonna open it, Only Athena knew, and Zeus was a Good Guy because he was the grave digger assisting us on Kratos quest to beat Ares just had no idea he was gonna open Pandora's box Zeus knew that Kratos was his son so he must've thought he could have taken Ares out with his Demi God power.
And when Kratos is bashing Zeus's face in you can see Black smoke come out of Zeus's mouth that means Zeus was free from the evil that was attached to him he was Good again, But Kratos didn't know that so he proceeded to Bash his Fathers face to death....
Well explained
this needs more likes
ohhhhhh now i understand better
shut that trash up, she wasn't planning to take over it before herself. BECAUSE THE GAME CREATOR SAID SO.
ZEUS WAS THE GOOD GUY? very good. He was the one who denied removing kratos' nightmares, he was the one who was enjoying the chaos created by Ares in Athens, he was the one who cursed prometheus, callisto. ordered to capture deimos.

I realise now that in the ending when he falls down that cliff he somehow must have felled down in the sea and later on waked up at the place he's in Got 4
He must've crawled into the ocean and swam to northern Europe.

The World Serpent found him and carried him to Faye and rest is history
So Kratos swam to the the realm of Norse mythology? I still don’t understand.

he killed all of the gods and the sisters of fate and everything so he had nowhere to go so his soul just stayed in the same spot so hes technically immortal.

Unlikely, but maybe for humans to have hope they still need Kratos, so he survived. And now he will be instrumental in shaping the mythology of the Norse gods. Did the hope he released reach the people in that realm? Also, will Athena come into play in GoW5? She was in 4, but was that her or just an apparition? Or did he just survive because he is Kratos.

Does anyone catch he phrase of this game? “In the end there will be only chaos”. Chaos is a titan. I always believed he would rise up and Kratos would Have to contend with him. They could make an unbelievable story out of that. Plus Athena is still alive in astral form. We never got to see the other gods’ astral forms other than Zeus. Greece is such a good setting. They should have stayed there. I love the new game but I don’t like the Norse setting.
It's freaky to know Athena is still around in her ghost astral form. I played these games so long ago and was under the impression Kratos got rid of ALL the gods. I wonder what stuff she's up to in Greece by the time of the newer games.

Thanks for watching & commenting!
That ending shows 2 possibilities: 1 Maybe kratos was gone himself ( After he got sacrificed).
2: or the furies from God of war ascension dragged him to their property.
The furies are dead.
DeathsHeadCZ Are they really? When Kratos went back at the Great War, the Furies existed. Kratos messed up the time I guess.
he did not really , they made sure to add it in the cutscene of the great war in gow2 you can see it when atlas tells kratos about the great war and the creation of the blade of olympus ,the cutscene shows the titans getting surrounded by a blue aura , the same one that is shown at the end when kratos goes back to the time of the great war and takes the titans to the future , zeus thought the titans are gone , but instead they just went to the future , it is hard to explain but it was shown in the cutscenes of gow 2 , one thing am not sure about though , since the titans were in the future , how come gaia was able to contact kratos and ask for his help , i mean where were they during that period of time from the moment zeus banished them to tartaros until the moment kratos saved them from the banishment and take them to the future , or my assumption is that zeus did banish them , and when kratos return he took them to the future and fooled zeus and the olympians by making them believe they banished the titans when they only actually been to the future, therefore the world will go the same way it did , WITHOUT THE TITANS , but instead of them being banished , they went to the future , which the more probable thing that happened , anyway , time travel and time stuff is the worst paradox to every try and think of , but just to make sure that even when kratos saved the titans and took them to the future , nothing have changed in the period between the time they disappeared and reappeared.
sorry for the long reading
[ SPECTA] Now I understand. Kratos actually made two changes. The first change was to go back at the Great War and save the Titans, and the second change was to go back to the present (where he left off), but this time with the Titans. They didn't really went to the future. No one knew their future, either the Sisters of Fate. Only the Oracles, and that not all of the Oracles. Gaia had foretold of the Titans' salvation* (not sure about that word). Thera told to Kratos that Gaia had foretold that the Ghost of Sparta would free all the Titans. If you don't know who Thera is, Thera is a female Titan with the element the lava or something like that, which was imprisoned beneath a volcano near the Temple of Poseidon at GoW Ghost of Sparta.
the titans went to the the future is what i meant , and thank you for telling me about thera , i played all the games except for the psp 2 ghost of sparta and chains of olympus , i am gonna play them soon on my ps3 , though i know it will be quite a long time before i play the new ps4 god of war
Kratos will never die
It's a curse that Kratos can never died by his own hands i mean
I kept beating Zues' ass. Didn't realize I had to stop to trigger the scene
In the end credits of god of war 3. where Kratos “died” there was a blood trail with kratos’s body gone.
This isn't only a game, it's a masterpiece
Curious what Athena has planned for, wanting that power...
gets donut treatment and survives, what a chad
I wish that the blade would've disappeared too because I wanted Kratos to have one more thing up his sleeve for the Norse gods.
Left the sword, it's still there now
