Thank you. A big part of my job is to find locations. More days are spent researching locations than taking pictures but it's worth it. Here is some location inspiration: www.prophotonut.com/2021/05/02/location-location-location/
Your work and whole demeanour is infectious and inspiring, absolutely love watching you work. I love your use of bare flashes to create these hard edgy looks, it's refreshing because you see a lot of content on RUclips that tries to drum into you this convention that only soft modified light should be used on women, that is clearly not the case. I suppose soft light lends itself well to beauty portraiture where as this lends itself to a hard edgy fashion look. love it!
Thank you Adrian. I’m glad you appreciate the crisp hard light that I use. It’s a style that has defined my work and it continues to excite me and keeps my passion alive. It’s good to be different. Thanks again for the lovely compliments.
Thi is how it has to be.... a wonderful Introdution for me in the Settings and the Practice of Photographie by using Flash's - thx a lot... this helped me unbelievable and was exact what i needed to understand the Workflow using Flash in Portrait Photographie - Greetings from Hamburg Germany
I just found out you also have a RUclips channel. Subscribed! Thank you for doing this. I used AD200 before, but I was not using flash recently. This video inspires me to charge it up again and have some fun with it! I have also ordered a Scatterflash. I look forward to have some fun.
Thank you, Alan. I'm glad you are inspired to give flash another go. Have fun! If you have any questions about using Scatterflash or flash in general email me using the address on your Scatterflash order. Best regards, Damien.
@@ale.giacobazzi Yes, I come to Italy every year. Even 2020. I’ll be running a workshop in Tuscany in September and then moving down to the Rome area ;) Message me on the Lovegrove adventures website and I’ll email you
Thank you, John, I must have 20 different lighting stands in my kit. The ones I’m using here are a Matthews compact stand and a Lastolite Jupiter stand. Buy decent stands and they will last a long time for sure. Most stand companies do tall stands, they just cost more. Matthews, Arri, Manfrotto etc. Kindest regards, Damien.
I love that smoke machine; small and cordless. Looks great to be a carry around item. Would it be ok if I asked the brand and model, and maybe where to find it?

Hi Jacquline, That’s a great question. I’m showing you how an artist takes photographs. Light meters are great for scientific photography where reproduction of a scene needs to be exact. I am creating my own scene where I use my eyes to set the mood and colour in the photograph. If I want the picture to be subdued I’ll take the exposure down until it looks exactly how I want it. There is no light meter that can do that for me. I’ve not used a light meter since 2001 when I went digital. I use my eyes, they are far more subjective and allow for artistic interpretation of a scene. I hope this helps, Damien
NICE VIDEO . COLOR GEL AND SMOKE MACHINE PLUS A GOBO EFFECT. CLASSIC . JUST A LITTLE THING HERE. NOTICED THE GIRL IS HOLDING THE HAMMER IN A WRONG WAY. LEFT HAND INSTEAD OF RIGHT HAND. ANYWAYS, THAT SHOULD BE A JOB FOR A STYLIST.
I will do. I shot this between lockdowns last year and I’ve only just edited it. I have another couple of short movies to edit and then hopefully I’ll be able to go out and shoot some more. :)
Dear u r great But when u click u have to show us ur photo in full screen not on ur camera which is not visible with all exif details Like others photographers do
Fabulous. You are a photography magician. What a utilization of the space and resources 🙏 absolutely brilliant.
Thanks for your continued encouragement KSN :)

I have very little experience shooting with flash, so this was absolutely invaluable in such a short amount of time. Looks great fun too!

Why do you NOT use a flashmeter ?? I've red many times in many books it's the ONLY useful tool for measuring the light and then set the camera.
