Perfection-when you showed the 1/30th ambient and then went to 125th and then brought in the flash means you’ll always be able to balance the ambient and the flash. Always struggled indoors getting this balance. No more. Cheers Captain, my Captain. Seamless
Superb. Excellent explanations and great tip about the cactus flash trigger. I've been looking at different triggers and been a little confused about my options.
omg this is exactly what I was looking for mate, I have got a shooting tomorrow noon and had no clue on what to do at the stairs, couldn't have found it better portrait for me though, great work btw
This is great stuff and just the approaches im looking for - wonder if you might propose whether I continue with speedlights or look towards LED fresnels which I always been drawn too but cost stops me - i suppose that the light power output and small size low cost of speedlights is the main selling point -
Hi John, thank you. Hopefully this post will give you some food for thought: www.prophotonut.com/2013/06/04/flash-or-continuous-lighting-which-is-the-best-option/
Hi John, Damien here, Thanks for the compliments. It seems that photographers often see cameras and lenses as good investments but often disregard the lighting kit. It's lights that make these shots special. The camera they were shot on is immaterial.
Hi Damien. Love your videos! One thought, when you mention things like triggers and brackets and other things, could you link them in your comments? I love that bracket but cant find it anywhere.
Hi, All the equipment used is in the PDF that comes with the complete video download. This is just a sample chapter of the complete video. The bracket used was this one: www.prophotonut.com/2011/02/25/gemini-the-twin-speedlight-bracket-from-lovegrove-consulting/ or this lovegroveshop.com/product/lovegrove-flash-bracket/ We discontinued them because of cheaper alternatives coming from China. Kind regards, Damien

The camera, an X-T1 is about £400 with the lens, a pair of cactus flashes and trigger is £170, a stand and umbrella is about £50 all available on EBay. It’s bargain priced kit really. Just do some research ;)
I love how simple your approach is and how you make this standard of photography so easily achievable. Keep making more videos!

+Damien Lovegrove thank's for reply!
hi 😊 my dad last name is Lovegrove..I was a Lovegrove before I was married
Hi Stephanie, There are quite a few of us about :)
Although taking the tutorial it’s very expensive to buy the gear and the lighting equipment.😇

Was nice. A big no to the monotone though.
