Agreed
It's been a couple of years since I subscribed to this man's channel, his lessons are on another level.
Thanks Lefty :)
From simple setups to high end results it doesn’t get any better.thanks.
Thank you Donal :)
Damien, you always take me back to that unique and artistic feel photography used to have 15 years ago, before the digital flood changed everything! You show that you don't necessarily need all this overly cinematic gear the kids are chasing these days, with tons of light sources and modifiers, but you actually manage to create a Rembrandt-like image that rather looks like an actual painting, doing it the old fashioned way with the simplest setup imaginable. I enjoy that very much! It reminds me to some times just regress with my own work and do things a more simple way.
Your video made my day once again. Always looking forward for more!
Thank you :) I suppose I just stick to the core principles and try to keep things simple. Get it right in-camera is my way of working. Your compliments are very welcome. Cheers, Damien.
1. i got recommendation of this video
2. i watched it.

Thank you :)
You are the only photographer that I need to learn from. Good to see you back again sir. Love from India.
Thanks Jaspreet :)
Sir, can I use a regular speedlight in this kind of photography? I only have a Yongnuo 568EX II with a Godox transmitter and reciever for now.
@@batangantipolo-ksa1672 Yes indeed. Where I'm on 1/8th power you will need to be on 1/2 power. Zoom your flash to 105mm and you'll be fine.
@@LovegroveTraining wow, thank you so much!!!
Y O U A R E A V I S S I O N A R Y full respect 🙌 I'm impressed 😮
Thank you :)
Not only are these videos informative, creative and entertaining but Damien's speaking style and is almost hypnotic. Learning and relaxing both at the same time, bravo!
Thank you for those kind words KCA. :)
@@LovegroveTraining The feel is actually a little " Attenborough ish... feeling very comfortable at heart and mind watching someone taking it so sanely during these 'shout down' times..
Damien, you always pull out the magic and make it look so easy. Love your work and style. You have always inspired me to try different lighting approaches. Thank you.😎🇦🇺👍
Thank you for that lovely comment :)
Excellent setup mate.
To be honest, it was a hassle for me to keep changing the mood through camera raw, now it is made simple with the white balance trick, beautiful shots and amazing setup sir, Bless you!
Best Videos on YT ever. Can’t get enough. So inspiring. Thank you, Damien
Thank you for your compliments :)
A proper professional at work bravo 👏
You are still the King of Photographing !!!!
Thank you for your kind comments :)
fantastic results that any model/actor would love to have in their portfolio! I often find myself going back and forth between umbrella, softboxes aiming to flatter the actor/model as much as possible for headshots and portraits. Recently I did a shoot with bare speedlites as the model has great skin and the resuts were great - seeing your video reminds me to get out my scatterflash as well as try more with bare flash for a simpler, speedier approach
Thanks, John for your lovely message. Hard light is only harsh light when used badly. Stay inspired. Kind regards, Damien.
You are a genius at using smoke n light. Thats really impressive.
Thank you Baorpt.
Thanks you for this turtorial. My favorite type of photography is cinematic with low light and fill little light to make deep effect. Nice video!

Very long ago I saw your Speedlight mastery - a full video production. From then on-wards I became a fan and a follower of your photography because of it's charm & simplicity of gears you use. This video is a beautiful art you made in such a non attractive location that shows, it's our way or a passion that makes us to see things in a way that there is a beauty in it. Well done & awaiting a lot more from you.
