Great video and useful info like the uninterrupted comparison of the speakers. I don't know anymore how many videos I watched where the reviewer speaks between the two audio samples which makes it hard to draw a conclusion. I don't really care about cars so I had never seen your other channel but I think you can do as well with tech reviews.!

@@frostgodx I think I’ll do just that, on video / photos the 16 doesn’t look so much larger until you hold it in person and realise that’s what gets you I think… thanks again!

    • @frostgodx
      @frostgodx Год назад +2

@@adityaapte3845 That's exactly it! I thought ah its not that bad. My first impression was omg this is kinda crazy. Then i though okay, im going to try and get used to it because "its better". I ended up having both the 14" and the 16" at the same time and that pretty much sealed the deal for me. When i got up with it at home to go to the living room, or unpacked it at work is when it really hit me. The 16" just was too unweildy even though its not that large it just feels like a weapon lol. It took up too much table space and feels larger than it is. With the 14" i dont even give any of that stuff a second thought. I wished that it had more screen real estate but in the end i changed the screen scaling in display to the "more space" option and that resolved my concerns for me

This is my first MBP or Apple computer and I can’t for the life of me wonder why I ever waited to move over, the only thing I’m struggling with is learning all the shortcuts, abilities and how it operates. Thanks so much.

Great review of the MacBook Pro M1 Max. If I may suggest, I assume that you are using the new DJI Mavic Pro 3 for the drone shots in your video, can you make a video comparing the Apple ProRes 4.4.2 video vs. the standard H.265 and H.264 video quality in the non Cine version of the Mavic Pro 3? Regarding the price inflation of cars due to supply chain constraints, there is another element causing the price inflation that existed before the disruption caused by the SARS-Cov-2 virus. That catalyst would be the historically low interest rates since the global economic downturn from 2008. Everyone in the financial industry is chasing alpha, i.e. yield with low interest rates the cost of capital is very low and therefore more risk inclusive strategies are employed to capture yield, ranging from carry trades to increased investment of FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) into emerging markets. Regarding cars specifically there has been an inter-segment sector rotation taking place, first European classic and vintage cars saw price inflation, then American classic and muscle cars experienced price inflation, now JDM cars especially 90s JDM legends such as Nissan R32,R33,R34 GT-R's, Toyota MK IV Supra,Honda/Acura NA1 and NA2 NSX's as well as others. Now, price inflation is in the luxury and technical watch market as we speak. The art market is almost always in a persistent state of price inflation, as obviously the works from the noted masters are quite limited.

Macbook pros M1-based are great, yet my main reservation is that storage is soldered on. in the middle of a project if the computer fails, I much rather be able to take the storage out, put it in an enclosure and continue somewhere else. So I am still partial FOR Critical work, to Thinkpads (which btw, are still better keyboards) or the ocassional HP Zbook or Dell Precisions. Also next business day onsite service is great to have.

I have a similar laptop to yours, a 16" M1 Max, 64GB, 2TB. I am an AI researcher and do all my machine learning work on it, its terrific compared to my previous machines.
    Two issues so far:
    1. Some of the libraries are not fully available for the M1, such as Caffe2
    2. Some of the libraries such as PyTorch are not using the GPUs. EDIT: This is fixed, PyTorch uses the M1 GPUs. Kudos to Apple and Meta working together to fix this!
I am sure they will be addressed soon. Other than that, it's great for AI work and can handle large projects well. As Tensorflow and PyTorch are with GPU support, it's pretty quick.
I threw out my displays after using this, its so convenient as I prefer moving around the house doing my work 😃
My only problem with it is a personal one, I am afraid of going out with it as I am worried about dropping it! 🙁

You got my point, I don't need an external monitor, I don't need an external mouse, I don't need and external trackpad, I don't need an external cam. The 16 give me everything, I hate all 2K or 4K monitors, all looks like trash, the only solution is the 5K studio display but I don't need it, the XDR on the 16 is better! I also hate the external trackpad, yes!!! is not the same as the trackpad on the mbp, I mean yes same gestures etc. but!!! have the keyboard on the top and trackpad on the bottom on the mbpro is perfect! because when I use the external trackpad and external keyboard one beside other, I start to move sooooo slowly and those two things moves around constanly, so the mbp is one big solution for me!!!

Struggled with the decision but went for the 16 inch. Battery life, screen size and the thermos made the difference: this machine never has fan noise, never gets hot. As far as the weight, I spent a lot of time on finding carry bags for a 4.7 pound machine, found one that is comfortable so weight and portability really is not an issue as well. Never thought I would go for a laptop this big, but do not regret my decision. This was expensive, but would not be surprised if I am actively typing on it 10 years form now!

Can you compare the comfort on typing on the 14" versus the 16". Thanks

If you have big hands, the 14" will feel cluttered and I tend to palm the trackpad. I returned mine for the 16" MB as its the same keyboard but the wider chassis helps. It is a big B***H lol.

@@Brothererick1 same, I really tried to use the 14”. It’s for children. It’s too small. I hurts my wrists using it. I have no space. 16” is actually relaxing. I can actually rest my hands without worrying my hand or palms are on something then accidental triggers or mis-clicks.

@@Madhawk1995 Exactly! I caved and brought a 14 M1 Pro 10 Core 16 Gb for everyday carry. My 16” 64 GB stays in the home office.

I’m stuck between choosing 14” and 16“ all the same reasons plus occasional travel. Thankfully my work got me a computer so I didn’t have to jump the gun last fall, well they had to because I can’t have any of the data outside their systems.
For me Pro would be enough in power (price to waiting rate!), but I do RAM heavy stuff and there’s been occasions that 32GB is not even nearly enough.. Soo, waiting if next gen would give 64GB for Pro and if it doesn’t I’ve already got the extra funds.
Except if my old MBP dies now I’ll just go for 32GB Pro, but 14” or 16”!? 😢

So you don't feel like the 16" is too large for coffee shops, etc.? I see people comment about how it's too large and bulky to take anywhere. I'm super conflicted over which one to go with. I mostly work from home BUT I do like to sit in bed, or on the sofa, etc., and am concerned the 16" will feel too bulky and cumbersome.

The biggest thing I have noticed, is when doing long renders or anything thats very CPU intensive for longer periods of time, the 16" is ALOT faster than the 14". However if you're not doing tasks that really spin up the CPU/GPU for more than a few minutes at a time, it really just comes down to screen real estate. To be honest, the 16" is big, its clunky, and as much as I love the extra screen space, I would probably go with a 14" if the speed issue didn't exist. But since I am doing very CPU intensive tasks, the 16" it is for me.
I would say if its a daily machine, you're editing youtube videos, or just doing day to day work, the 14" is the better device for an "on the go" user.
If you're editing all day every day, or doing 3D renders, or the machine rarely needs to move around (used at a desk) go for the 16"!

You have oversimplified the differences between the M1 14 and 16 by inferring that the primary difference is really only screen size and downplaying the other differences like the larger, more efficient fans in the 16. For me, that is a MAJOR difference when you are working with really demanding apps like Resolve, Photoshop 2022, and Premiere, which are the apps I mainly work with.
While it's true the 14 can provide acceptable performance with the smaller fans, the fan rpms get maxed out on the 14 under heavy loads, whereas the 16's fan can barely be heard.
Maybe for some people this isn't a big deal, but I find it really distracting, and also it makes me wonder what that kind of heat does in terms of the longevity of the device.

The 16” fans maxed out are actually louder it’s just they don’t max out even when the chip is pegged full load it can maintain 75c. The 14” same situation about 5% less performance and 85c. Both have massive thermal headroom there which is great.
