What would you suggest? Have thoughts on getting either a 14" mac with M3 Max, 1tb drive and 36gb ram or a 16" mac with same specs. Love the portability of the 14" but screenspace of the 16". Np plans on getting on plains or anything. Around the house or coffee shops etc is what id be taking it and doing web dev and learning software engineering. I do have a nice updated most recent PC laptop as well already. or would a 14” m3 pro with 1tb drive and 18gb ram do just as good? as far as learning ios development, web dev etc?

I totally agree with the “feel like keep working “ man the beautiful display ❤ I have MBA m1 and can’t wait to buy a 16” someday 🤞🏻

About the size - as a developer,, you'll probably use most apps in full screen mode (VS Code for example), so what is it that makes the 16" better? muuuch more heavy and less portable

Loved your content creation, really well made and delivered. I got the 16” M1 Max and I have never had a better computer or laptop ever! This is my first MBP or Apple computer and I can’t for the life of me wonder why I ever waited to move over, the only thing I’m struggling with is learning all the shortcuts, abilities and how it operates. Thanks so much.

You got my point, I don't need an external monitor, I don't need an external mouse, I don't need and external trackpad, I don't need an external cam. The 16 give me everything, I hate all 2K or 4K monitors, all looks like trash, the only solution is the 5K studio display but I don't need it, the XDR on the 16 is better! I also hate the external trackpad, yes!!! is not the same as the trackpad on the mbp, I mean yes same gestures etc. but!!! have the keyboard on the top and trackpad on the bottom on the mbpro is perfect! because when I use the external trackpad and external keyboard one beside other, I start to move sooooo slowly and those two things moves around constanly, so the mbp is one big solution for me!!!

Do you still recommend M1 Max for software development or it’s better to take m2 pro/max?

Just a note: The M1 Max 14" is very easy to heat up...there is a lot packed into a very small space and when you start to use that horsepower the heat comes quickly.

So you don't feel like the 16" is too large for coffee shops, etc.? I see people comment about how it's too large and bulky to take anywhere. I'm super conflicted over which one to go with. I mostly work from home BUT I do like to sit in bed, or on the sofa, etc., and am concerned the 16" will feel too bulky and cumbersome.

The biggest thing I have noticed, is when doing long renders or anything thats very CPU intensive for longer periods of time, the 16" is ALOT faster than the 14". However if you're not doing tasks that really spin up the CPU/GPU for more than a few minutes at a time, it really just comes down to screen real estate. To be honest, the 16" is big, its clunky, and as much as I love the extra screen space, I would probably go with a 14" if the speed issue didn't exist. But since I am doing very CPU intensive tasks, the 16" it is for me. I would say if its a daily machine, you're editing youtube videos, or just doing day to day work, the 14" is the better device for an "on the go" user. If you're editing all day every day, or doing 3D renders, or the machine rarely needs to move around (used at a desk) go for the 16"!

Hello! I am wondering if I should get the 14 or 16 inch MCP. I am going to code for school, and I do have a stationary computer with two 24 ´screens. I do also have a 12.9 ipad pro. I do have owned a MCP 13´, and I felt like there is not that much difference than the 14´. What do you think ?

Looks like you are normally using external monitors as you work on projects. If I don't have a monitor.....I'm thinking the extra screen size of the 16" would be greatly appreciate as I work on projects. Thoughts?

You have oversimplified the differences between the M1 14 and 16 by inferring that the primary difference is really only screen size and downplaying the other differences like the larger, more efficient fans in the 16. For me, that is a MAJOR difference when you are working with really demanding apps like Resolve, Photoshop 2022, and Premiere, which are the apps I mainly work with. While it's true the 14 can provide acceptable performance with the smaller fans, the fan rpms get maxed out on the 14 under heavy loads, whereas the 16's fan can barely be heard. Maybe for some people this isn't a big deal, but I find it really distracting, and also it makes me wonder what that kind of heat does in terms of the longevity of the device.

    • @frostgodx
      @frostgodx Год назад

The 16” fans maxed out are actually louder it’s just they don’t max out even when the chip is pegged full load it can maintain 75c. The 14” same situation about 5% less performance and 85c. Both have massive thermal headroom there which is great.

Honestly, loved your content! And loved your way of describing how it feels! 😂 I agree with you. I carry my MacBook Pro 14 inch and when I looked at the 16 inch, sure loved the 16 but boy was it heavy and chunky. I already have a heavy bag from what I carry to campus every week. My 14 inch does what it needs to do. I have the M1 Pro 10 core CPU 16 core GPU so on and so for with 32 GB and 1 tb of storage.

Struggled with the decision but went for the 16 inch. Battery life, screen size and the thermos made the difference: this machine never has fan noise, never gets hot. As far as the weight, I spent a lot of time on finding carry bags for a 4.7 pound machine, found one that is comfortable so weight and portability really is not an issue as well. Never thought I would go for a laptop this big, but do not regret my decision. This was expensive, but would not be surprised if I am actively typing on it 10 years form now!

Honestly, this is the best laptop I've ever owned I bought 14 before try using it and the screen wasn't big enough returned and bought 16 inch and I just cannot say there's no better laptop than a 16-inch M1 Max pro like this thing is a beast 14 inch is still nice but I prefer being on a $200 more I have a bigger screen I watch a lot of RUclips videos Netflix so the bigger screen works hands-on best laptop ever owned in my life

get a new 12th gen Intel or AMD for half the price, with 3y guarantee. Life with 17" is just awesome. After 2 years with MacBook Pro - never again! I could not get used to inconsistent keyboard shortcuts across different apps even within the same vendor (save in VSC vs VS, as an example).

  • @dennisvaldez6442

Love your videos!!! I have the option of getting a 14" , 1TB, 10CPU, 16GPU, 32 unified, 16 neural engine (10/16/32/16) new in box and sealed, or a base 16", 512GB, 10/16/16/16 from the actual Apple store for roughly the same price. I am a bit confused about the throttle, thermos, and battery life implications. I want good battery, and I do love a smoother photo/video editing workflow, but I am not a professional (i.e., it's not my main income). I am not sure if I go with the 14" from a private seller, or the Apple store. What would you do?

If you have big hands, the 14" will feel cluttered and I tend to palm the trackpad. I returned mine for the 16" MB as its the same keyboard but the wider chassis helps. It is a big B***H lol.
