I didn't know Husqvarna made bikes until I started looking at dirt bikes ngl 😂. Funnily enough their nickname, Husqy, is the same name as another powertool company, "Husky". I've only ever been to one of the big fours motorcycle events, and that was the Kwasaki Demo Days thing like 2 years ago and haven't seen anything for any of em since 😭. Harley definitely loves their parties, I swear there's at least 3 a month here in the summer/fall/spring and a handful over the winter months indoors. The local dealer has a stunt crew that does stunts in their side parking lot even (granted they use street bikes but one of the popular ones had a sportster given to them by said dealer). HD definitely sat their business motto on "we won't win races but we'll win on the long run" 😂. Great video!!

I'm glad you mentioned about this being pretty much a US only phenomenon. Harley's aren't too common here, but you do see them and they do have their die hard fans here. People love the look, which Japanese makers have pretty much moved away from these days. Americans and Japanese have huge preference for the domestic makers. Do you see ads for motorcycles on TV over there? I don't see them here. The Suzuki fans will be coming for you! 🤣

Nice one Kode 😎 Harley will always be special for lots of reasons. The Japanese manufacturers became strong after ww2 when Japan had aircraft production severely restricted by the allies, so all those aircraft engineers switched to making motorbikes instead, true.
"Masters of merchandising" 👈 I think this is what has kept the brand alive recently. I have an 18 year old sportster, the smallest, cheapest proper Harley and I live it, and other people love it. I love that harleys aren't so popular over here because it's a real buzz to see another one and what the rider has done to make it unique. Great video my friend, now go out and buy a harley 🤣🤣

Husqvarna made motorcycles in Sweden for decades. In the 1960s they transitioned into two-stroke dirt bikes which were Superior to everything out there. There was a picture of Steve McQueen and his wife riding one on the cover of some Sports Illustrated I think. They were very popular in the late 60s and 70s .

The Harley merchandise over here is out of control!! It's literally everywhere! It's a big thing over here between Harley and Indian. I think the only thing holding Indian back is they are technically owned by Polaris. And that throws some people off. But they are making big strides to promote their brand. My Honda CX500 was my last brand new Honda. It lasted 10 years and at 250,000 Mi the cam chain broke and destroyed the engine. My Airhead BMWs have anywhere from 75,000 to 500,000 miles on them. My twenty-five-year-old 883 Harley Sportster as 4 hundred thousand miles on her on the original engine. I could not imagine how many miles I have put on my 19 65 Triumph TR6 with a Magneto and a hardtail in riding it continuously over 40 years. My favorite Honda is my 1977 cm185t TwinStar. That was the little bike that introduced me to the pleasures of two wheels.
A very interesting discussion, Harley's are reasonably popular here in the UK, all the other makes share reasonable popularity also. BMW is probably becoming the most popular, which is likely due to most riders being older and having more disposable income. I very nearly bought a Fat Bob myself but weighing it up against the Triumph Rocket, the Rocket won.

When I talk to people about my super sport I typically hear about how they used to ride a “ninja”.. Like hello which ninja lol. Or how they went 200 miles and hour on some random super sport haha. But yea I do agree that the general assumption from non riders asking about what you ride is an HD or some bagger/cruiser moto. When I say I ride an S1KRR it mine as well be another language to them 😂
It's a nice bike the CBR1000RR - I used to love my VFR750F 94 model - so much so I bought it twice 20 years apart - once when it was new and once when it was old because I wanted one all over again! Sounded like a V8! Loved it. Really the Americans are just like the Japanese - The Japanese have their shoguns! and the Americans have their "show guns!" lol - just a bad Dad pun! I have a Harley these days but I also have a Triumph Street Triple RS naked sport bike. The Harley is very relaxing but not really sporty! It's a cruiser... that's about the sum of it. Horses for courses I guess. There are an awful lot of them here but then again there's a lot of other bikes too so not entirely most people would automatically think of Harley if you said "motorcycle". I don't think but maybe some people would if you said "bikie" rather than just motorcycle rider. "Really enjoyed your discussion - I like your vids and style - always entertaining, uplifting and fun! Harley-Davidson dealerships on the weekends would have free hot dogs hamburgers and sodas. Various volunteer organizations would do the cooking and collect the money. There would be a band playing and some vendors and people would go to the Harley dealership just to chat with other people who go to the Harley shop on the weekend when they are not working. Now most of the Harley dealership have a ridiculously overpriced restaurant connected with them so they do not do the free burgers and hotdogs and soda and beer is only free during the week. These restaurants have prices that are as ridiculously high as a new Harley example $20 for a cheeseburger with no cheese, $5 for a cheap can of beer, and $2 for a little cup of ice. Now if you go to a Harley dealership on the weekend instead of it being packed with people it is a ghost town. I can ride out to a biker bar and get three nice big cheeseburgers for $20. I cannot afford to waste money on any overpriced bulshit whatsoever.
The Harley dealership near me still has events during the summer. What's funny is...my Honda dealership and that Harley dealership share the same building!! Just opposite sides. The Honda side is dead quiet during those events!! 😂
Kawasaki heavy Industries started with a shipyard in Japan. They make ships as well as subway cars and Freight cars they went into motorcycling because the regular public is not going to buy a steamship or a train but that will buy a motorcycle and that motorcycle will give them public recognition in the public eye. At first they imported Tohatsu and pointer motorcycles into America until those companies went belly-up and Kawasaki started to make their own motorcycles they also bought out magoro. That is why some of the early Kawasaki have magoro symbols on them. A Kawasaki two-stroke motorcycle was viciously fast but a nightmare on two wheels. In the 1970s there was the saying that they are two kinds of Kawasaki Riders the quick and the dead.
Let's not forget Harley-Davidson comes out of the factory with so many defects. People buy a $20,000 plus motorcycle and then have to put in another $5,000 worth of engine work to correct all of the crap caused by the cheap Chinese Parts in the engine. So much of the bike sucks which is why there is such a huge aftermarket. Yesterday's Harley was a real motorcycle, today's Harley like all of today's motorcycles are a collection of government regulations on two wheels

I think for every 100 Harley tattoos or rear window stickers you see, MAYBE you'll see a GSX-R tat, or a CBR tat, but it's rare, at least in my part of the country. Contrary to some belief it does get freezing cold in Florida in the winter in the morning and it does not rain in Florida it monsoon.

Now if you go to a Harley dealership on the weekend instead of it being packed with people it is a ghost town. I can ride out to a biker bar and get three nice big cheeseburgers for $20. I cannot afford to waste money on any overpriced bulshit whatsoever.
The Harley dealership near me still has events during the summer.
What's funny is...my Honda dealership and that Harley dealership share the same building!! Just opposite sides.

Kawasaki heavy Industries started with a shipyard in Japan. They make ships as well as subway cars and Freight cars they went into motorcycling because the regular public is not going to buy a steamship or a train but that will buy a motorcycle and that motorcycle will give them public recognition in the public eye. At first they imported Tohatsu and pointer motorcycles into America until those companies went belly-up and Kawasaki started to make their own motorcycles they also bought out magoro. That is why some of the early Kawasaki have magoro symbols on them. A Kawasaki two-stroke motorcycle was viciously fast but a nightmare on two wheels. In the 1970s there was the saying that they are two kinds of Kawasaki Riders the quick and the dead.

Let's not forget Harley-Davidson comes out of the factory with so many defects. People buy a $20,000 plus motorcycle and then have to put in another $5,000 worth of engine work to correct all of the crap caused by the cheap Chinese Parts in the engine. So much of the bike sucks which is why there is such a huge aftermarket. Yesterday's Harley was a real motorcycle, today's Harley like all of today's motorcycles are a collection of government regulations on two wheels
Those regulations also make every bike off the line sound like a sewing machine!

Yeah, you're right - Harley is known for only one thing - motorcycles! I think for every 100 Harley tattoos or rear window stickers you see, MAYBE you'll see a GSX-R tat, or a CBR tat, but it's rare, at least in my part of the country.

BMW makes cars and motorcycles. Laverda made farm equipment motorcycles. MV Agusta made helicopters and motorcycles.

Honda makes more motorcycles in 1 month than Harley-Davidson makes in a whole year. They used to be a real motorcycle in the old days and now they are just a toy for an old fart who has more money than God. I commuted on my 883 Harley Sportster 4/20 years going back to forth to work. Contrary to some belief it does get freezing cold in Florida in the winter in the morning and it does not rain in Florida it monsoon.
