Hi! I'm Paolo from Italy.... beautiful instrument! The semihollow gives more power to basses... with a Mccarty magnet to the bridge would be fantastic! (forgive my english... io parlo italiano/je parle francais) Thanks for the recension
@magicman12b I bought an S2 Standard 24 in charcoal satin black and I absolutely love it and it's funny because I want to buy the Vela and charcoal satin black as well
I am a big fan of semi-hollows and hollow bodies. This is an interesting new model from PRS, but I don't own a PRS (yet). Maybe I should dive in. Hmmm, and I wonder if a Bigsby were slapped on that thing, would it be too butt heavy, since it only weighs the same as a blue balloon circus dog, evidently. And ya gotta love the retro dusty blue paint job - kinda like my dad's old '61 Ford Fairlane. Seriously, thanks for the quick first-take, Jude. (PS - hope you are doing well - I'm the guy that sat near you on a plane ride last year, and ultimately attended your show at Copper Mountain, CO). Keep the vid's coming...
Thanks for the practical review, very much appreciated. I'm interested in the Vela (or Studio) due to the Type-D pickup as it is very close to the Dynastic/Gibson-Staple pickup(s). I'm a new subscriber and just had to give you a shout-out from Michigan.
Congrats! Is she a keeper? It does sound amazing, and in all positions - very balanced pickups across all positions. What's the approximate weight of it? Thanks! Oh, and I subbed!
Michal Mikolaj Maslowski Thanks for subscribing, yes it’s only like 6 pounds or so maybe 6 1/2. They told me that it varies from guitar to guitar slightly. I have used it on many many shows now and I like it quite a bit
@@JudeGold Thank you very much for your prompt reply! I love how the Vela sounds, and I am also a fan of the looks. I'm looking for something below 6.5lbs (unless it's a Strandberg, so that comes down to 5lbs pretty quickly). This is the second sub-7lbs axe that not only feels lighter (the first one being the Silver Sky), but still retains fantastic tone. Wow! Thank you for sharing you experience, I genuinely appreciate your time!
Dear God who are you?! I've never felt so inspired and completely obliterated at the same time! Where the hell do I go to sell my soul to play like that? Oh yeah nice guitar.
Beautiful guitar and nice playing. Please don't pop the bubble wrap, I'll be damned if the rest of us have act like adults and you just do whatever you want
Please make more videos with this guitar. It sounds amazing.
Best review of this guitar! And insane skills too
PRS guitar: Good choice
Dr Z EMS: Good choice
Content & Editing: Good choices
Playing: Good
Ok, that’s an instant sub...
Those tapped harmonics... that would make a great video lesson! Thanks
Sounds great and your playing is farntastic!
I would love to hear your playing on an S2 Studio. You’re an awesome guitar player.
Awesome playing Jude! Sweet 🎸 too!
Best demo of this guitar
Great tone and great playing🎸

I’m looking at buying my first PRS and I’m between this S2 Vela or the CE24.
What did you end up with? I'm in the exact same boat right now
@@mynamesjondowell S2 Vela in Satin Black. Love it

@@Mark_B585 how are you liking your new guitar?
@magicman12b I absolutely love it I have to tell you I just bought a S2 McCarty 594 as well.
Seems very versatile! I’d be curious to know if f-holes would create more feedback with heavy stuff. Beautiful overall 👍🎸

Really likin' this one. Had been lookin' at the s2 Starla with the bigsby and thick neck? Hows the neck on this one?
