When I was making the 30W flashlight, I thought there was no point in building a bigger and stronger one. Some time passed and as always, I was hungry for power. In 3 minutes and 50 seconds, of course, the LEDs were connected in series. Mistake in the subtitles
Fantastic that you produce so much light. Only a lot of light is lost to the side. It would be nice if you could radiate the light in a more focused way. Which gives you even more "power" in the distance.
Nice LED Light Build, but 45 Minutes Run Time Verses 3 Hours Charge Time Isn't very good in My Opinion. There are Circuits out there that could increase the Run Time, Mate. The Light needs a Run Time of at least 8 Hours for it to be considered a great Emergency or even a good Camping Light in my opinion. Maybe you should explore this further. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing your Skills with me. I do Appreciate it. One more thing before I go. What would be the price of this Light?
Excelente proyecto muy bien desarrollado y mejor ejecutado , brillante como una estrella , gracias por compartir tanta creatividad , un saludo cordial y por supuesto un gran like desde Narón , Galicia ( España ) 🤓 😜
Can you do a parts list pls.. This would be great as the basis for driving lights. I need some bright ones for an upcoming outback trip. Love the design!.
I think you'd find buying something like an Imalent MS18 to be a lot easier, and quicker too (if your trip is coming up soon). It's one of the brightest production flashlights in the world with 100,000 lumens, it's about $600 last time I checked.
I got one like this at Walmart last week, they had them on sale for 10 dollars.. Sorry, I had to.... I retired an engineer after 35 years in machine shops. Everything I ever made someone told me they could have bought one for 10 dollars after I spent a month and 150 hours making it. Take it from an old timer. Great job!!
That's a series circuit and the forward voltage for XHJP70s is 12.4V so your overall voltage requirement should be more like around 60v. Maybe you could massively increase the light output by just turning up your boost converter?
So basically this flashlight will last him well over 20 years so long as he replaces the battery cells whenever they surpass 1500 charge cycles? Since under-driving LEDs extend their lifespan by a huge amount (and boost energy efficiency a bit too) as evidenced by the Dubai Lamp bulbs which use 4 times the LED strings but each runs at a quarter the regular voltage (with a voltage correcting mini power supply) and apparently has a lifespan over 10 times more than a regular bulb, so around 250k hours compared to the average 25k hours a normal LED bulb gets. So this flashlight will last longer battery-wise and overall lifespan-wise than if he used half as many LED chips and drove them at full power. Although thinking about it after seeing the product page, it seems that it can be configured on the PCB to run at 5.6V and 2100 mA or 11.2V and 1050 mA. Seems he might be using 5.6V at 2100 mA per cell, so 5.6V times 5 chips is 28 volts or nearly 59 watts. But that is the regular draw current, at 5.6V he can drive them up to 4.8 amps, so he's driving the chips at around 3560 mA each to achieve 100 watts of power draw, which means he's actually sacrificing LED lifespan by overdriving them and its likely the LED chips will burn out around the time the battery cells reach the end of their lifespan. So these chips with a regular lifespan of 50k hours would maybe get 10k hours at this overdrive level, or a little over a year if the flashlight were plugged in and left on without breaks. At likely usage levels those chips will last 4 to 5 years at my best guess, which should coincide with an average of 300 charge cycles of the battery cells per year, pushing the cells past their end-of-life cycle count of 1500. Although so long as he doesn't charge the battery above around 80 to 85 percent or discharge it below around 15 to 20 percent, the battery should then outlast the LED chips. Hopefully he's got variable brightness so those LEDs last longer.
@@maciejnowakprojects you can drive them at higher voltages than 6v each and get quite a bit more lumens out of these. You can probably safely drive them at 8v each and cap the current at 12 amps... but I would be cautious without thermal regulation and your boost circuit might also overheat. Theoretically that would increase lumens at the led from ~3380 to ~7850.
If you wired the LEDs in parallel, you could eliminate the need for the boost converter completely 🤷♂️ Voltage across those LEDs in parallel = 6v Voltage across four li-ion cells in series = 12v to 16.8v
I would not want to bump into him on a dark night after getting blinded with that light that's the daddy of flashlights really impressed with this build 😀
Hi, can you post a video to make search light (4-10W) using commonly available components. Not everyone has access to tools to grind and cut aluminum. Much love from India.

Pytanie, czy ty jesteś z Polski? Bo oglądam cię od dawna i teraz mnie to zastanawia
Hey. I hope you are selling these on Amazon or something. This was extremely cool.
Also, are you available for hire? If you would, please respond back with a more appropriate means of communication. Thx.
Give that thing a strobe function, & it would easily deter any assailant.
It's a perfekt product for helping airplanes landing at the airport! I'm kidding, how much would it cost or did it cost to produce it?
I think it wasn't a parallel circuit?
You mean a series circuit?
Yes, it is a series connection, not a parallel.
Świetna robota! Trzymam kciuki za dalsze projekty.
Maciej wrzucaj częściej filmy. Masz wielki potencjał, wielu subskrybentów, wykorzystaj to.
Light, hammer, weapon, weight, ... all in :P, thumbs up and nice work!
Super & Perfect Hand Made 😊☺️👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
That's a work of art!
Amazing how something so tiny can be so bright 🔆
Now that's the real deal! Unlike those phony facebook ads of aircraft grade metal flashlights so bright you clicked and ordered it and got duped.

Man!!! Fantastic work!👍🏼

It would be useful to have a flashlight this powerful but with he ability to turn the bulbs on individually to make it more universally useful
i like the idea of using Anderson connectors for the charging port!
Back to unique projects 👍👍👍
First class job, I wouldn't know where to start ! Well done.
spis części 📄🔧 do tej fajnej latarki LED był by pomocny.
Very nice! Would be perfect if you could toggle 1 to 5 LEDs on though, would last a lot longer on the batteries
It would be better to use PWM or current control for that. You can get this way smoother regulation, higher efficiency, and longer life of LEDs.
@@michamaecki8104 it have already! He can control output voltage of the regulator with simple potentiometer.
@@KarrasBastomi yes and no. It would have to be not sealed inside enclosure to be any useful in daily usage.
@@michamaecki8104 he can add an external one....
Better for all the Led's to work on lower power instead so you do not risk burning one prematurely
Beautiful job well done mister
So cool. I wish l was skilled like this to make cool flashlights.
Very enlightening, thanks for posting.
Good job! Enjoyed watching.

Good Job. Clean Work. Sensationell.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
looks like the led are series connected. Parallel means connect each component to the same positive and negative.
incredible work though, love it !
Robust rugged hand made , brilliant
Pretty impressive work, Maciej! 😃
Really beautiful flashlight! Fantastic work!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Great video. Thanks.
This is a brilliant idea!
Great job !
One of the coolest videos I've seen on YT
Amazing, nice job
Now that's art. Great job man.
Nice work!!
Best part of your videos is, you never compromise with features in your gadgets..
That's extremely impressive work!
If I had a machine shop like his, I would never be bored a day in my life! It would also help to be as knowledgeable as him.

That was simply superb
Are those reflectors plastic? They look kinda like trimmed down Maglite reflectors. Great Job BTW.
Such expertise for a flashlight! (Glad you got lots of views.)
Wow! This is an awsome flashlight! 28 dislikes at this tkme? Must be the candle stick makers.

a single xhp 70.2 can do 7000 lumens with good cooling

These LEDs come in different versions: 3V, 6V and 12V. I chose 6V, connected them in series. Therefore, the total supply voltage is 30V

Nice.
I would love one of those. I dont have the machinery to make it however. If it was switchable it would be perfect. Thank you and be safe.
Wonderful thank you for showing us. Hey, It seemed like the LEDS were connected in series, not parallel?

Great work, excellent lantern. The only minus is the long charge, probably? 👍
