Why’d you steal our garbage? - Persona 4: Golden - Family Guy: Back To The Multiverse & - PlayStation All Stars: Battle Royale
I find it pretty interesting that the Muppets’ final cinematic adventure is their only actual sequel. Each previous Muppet film is set in its own individual continuity, especially since the first three films are about them meeting each other for the first time.
I liked the movie, but nowadays, I just laugh at the concept that Kermit was not only sent to the gulag, but rather that in the muppet universe, the soviet union never seemed to fall and the guards are still using mosin nagants instead of AK-47s
Fun fact: in 2019, there was supposed to be another Muppet continuation as a 6-part mini series on Disney+ titled "Muppets Live Another Day" with Once Upon A Time creators Adam Horowitz and Eddie Kitsis at the helm with Josh Gad. It was supposed to be set to be a 80s-set sequel to Muppets Take Manhattan, where Rowlf the Dog mysteriously disappears as the Muppets reunite again to find him. (One leaked script page had Rowlf having a conversation with Steve Martin.) According to Gad, having it be set in the 80s was to subvert and comment on our current love for all things nostalgia while also allowing characters to tell a story that would lead to an end in the present day. And revealing secrets along the way. Unfortunately, it wasn't made due to the three having creative differences with Disney and the new heads of the Jim Henson Company were switching and the new executive didn't want it. (Of course they didn't 😢) And the result was The Muppets Now.
@@YujiUedaFan if i remember correctly it was meant to be a web show, but when muppets live another day got canceled and covid prevented them from making anything else they put it on disney+ as a show.
Muppets Now is not a Henson joint, and Live Another Day wouldn't have been one either. The Muppets' Wizard of Oz was the final Muppets project to involve the Jim Henson Company. All future projects are strictly under Disney.

Honestly the only real complaint I have with this movie is the fact its a sequel set mere moments after 2011 but Walter doesn’t even acknowledge Gary or Mary at all? Like not even a single line or offscreen goodbye. Pretty nitpicky but that’s because it’s literally the only problem I have with the movie LMAO The rest of it is really good and I’m shocked we didn’t get another one
Seeing you spontaneously review the muppet movies and giving them the proper respect and criticism for the last 2 months has been a great surprise. Love the content and always looking forward to seeing more Junko on my recommended.
I rewatched this movie yesterday and I only just now realize what a gem this is. Hearing Ray Liotta say, "But we LIKE Boyz II Men!!" just made my entire week.
I watched this movie like last year for the first time, and this is the first muppet movie I actually got into like the others were okay but I had only ever seen the retellings up until then (like treasure island and Christmas carol) it caused me to start watching all the other muppets movies (still haven’t seen all of them I’m working on it) but I’m really disappointed that people don’t talk about it so I was glad to see this video! (One of my favorite parts about Constantine is the interview he does where he and Ricky Giverras talk and Constantine wears a shirt saying “I’m not Kermit”)
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series of videos, and i think it just proves to me that whatever Yung Junko is excited about for videos, is exactly what i want to watch on this channel.
It’s Interesting. The first movie made a big deal about how nobody cares about the muppets anymore. And the box office returns on muppets most wanted proved the first movie correct.
You know the heist element really interesting when you consider that Kermit's originally Japanese dub actor was Yasou Yamada a.k.a the original voice of Lupin the third. If you know you know.
Yes, convenient hat they didn't try anything like... making a weird dramedy TV show for a major network at this time. Boy that'd have been weird. Especially if Fozzy was dating a human. Fortunately, such inexplicable nightmares never came to pass!
What I find worse aside from a 10 year absence of theatrical releases of Muppet movies is the fact that Steve Whitmire was replaced by Matt Vogel which I didn't like playing Kermit, he didn't suit him very well but he killed it as Constantine. Steve Whitmire is irreplaceable after the unfortunate death of Jim Henson! Muppets deserves more respect now than they did back then!
Even though I'm kicking myself for skipping the 2011 one while it was in theaters, I'm glad I managed to catch this one. It's bummer we didn't get one last film before they retired it. As is, I'm kinda lucky we even got the revival films. It's just as shame that Muppets are kinda gone at this point but not forgotten.
@MatecaCorp Eh, they're pretty much relegated to small stuff. I don't really think they really exist anymore. Personally, Muppets in Ernest died over 30 years ago with the death of Jim Henson himself. As much as I've enjoyed some of the post-henson stuff, I just feel like the Magix is gone. Basically nothing more than a husk what once was only around for brand recognition and not much else.
I get why people love the 2011 movie, but for me it’s just too cutesy and overly-reliant on nostalgia. The sequel is so much better and more in line with classic muppets.
I remember seeing the preview for this and beginning my parents for it. I never watched it for years, I only wanted it because it was called “Most Wanted”
I've had this movie sitting in my "To Watch" pile for years now, but I'm mystified as to why I haven't looked at it yet. This has helped me want to fix that. 😁 Also, Ty Burrell was channeling some serious Inspector Clouseau energy here.
