    ToadX was my favorite design since I received the first two click version. Then the 3-click took top spot for 3-click. But they’ve all been dethroned now by the Coral Verkk collaboration slider with Kladis3DStudios

      Magnus is mass produced and loses 50% of its value when it hits the cart. What a shame.

      Yeah I have to admit that even though I’m not a fan of Ultem a King Crab in Ultem actually looks kind of cool

      got it yesterday this thing is a fantastic. This is the first expensive fidget where I actually feel like it feels like it actually is a $200 fidget, magnets are so strong. clicks feel snappy and good - . Unlike another certain expensive fidget maker, cough lautie cough

    Man I wish I felt the same about mine. I find it to be heavy and the SS plates (dimple design?) are very sticky. It does feel solid and well made, but I have a half dozen free floating sliders that are half the price, twice the fun.
    For any new fidgeters watching this, do not fall for the Magnus and Modus Works hype. They are highly regarded, mostly because they are expensive and people like to justify their spending 😅

      I mean it's all subjective though isn't it? I've tried a pretty wide range of sliders and have to say that a Magnus just always feels great in my hand. Every time I get rid of one I end up wanting to try another one. And I'll have to disagree with you on your reasoning as to why people like Magnus and Modusworks. Yes there is always hype but that doesn't mean it's misplaced. You may not agree with their perceived value (which is absolutely valid because that's your perspective) but saying that people only like it so that they can justify spending that much money on something isn't a fair statement. I find the resell value on Modusworks stuff to be crazy but I also have no problem with people spending that if they can afford it. I will say that I've had experience with cheaper sliders and, in a lot of cases at least, there have been issue with then that I haven't encountered on any of the higher end priced sliders. Part of the high cost is due to the investment in machinery which ends up producing a better made product. Again though, that's just my opinion. I've actually been wanting to do a Fidget Chat episode debating this very thing with people who have differing opinions...

      @@thefidgetfix You are right on all fronts and this topic would definitely be a great point of discussion in Fidget Chat.
      This is my personal take, as someone who has spent $500+ on each of the top three. My message is to those that are new to the community and hearing these names as if they are the be-all and end-all of fidgets. If you are not a collector, there are fidgets of equal quality that provide the same level of fun at much lower prices. You do not need to spend this kind of money on these brands.

      @@Shoorah On that I completely agree. There are so many newcomers to this (and any) hobby that see the most expensive item and think that's the one they need. So much so that they basically ignore all the more cost-friendly versions along the way. I'm totally guilty of that myself. Yeah I'm convinced this would be a good episode now!

      @@modulatethecarrier I don’t have any favourite brands but I can recommend some fidgets, depending what type you are looking for.

    i liked a hybrid crunch setup. But ever since i heard that the nickel coating is toxic/carcinogenic i dont know if i should be using it or not. maybe you with your reach will be able to find a answer. and if it turns out to be no maybe we as a community should transition to different coating for the magnets.

    • @thefidgetfix
      @thefidgetfix  27 дней назад

      That's an interesting thought but, to be honest, it isn't something I'm personally worried about since there's very minimal exposure to the magnets. The only time I'm touching them at all is the rare instance where I'm opening the slider up to change something.

      @@thefidgetfix well with dampeners yea. but if you let it rattle it will build up nickel dust over time. then i dont know how well that dust stays inside.

    If you want to test SS plates. let me know you can borrow my toad x with ss. I also have teflon plates you can try. Feels really good on a combo of teflon and SS imho.
