Looks awesome!
What a neat little video ❤
I believe the Toad X is being sold due to popularity (I could be wrong, maybe the design is a hit or miss for some people), but for me personally, just got my toad X yesterday and it’s perfect for me! Way better than my regular toad 3 click and have had no problems like the toad gave me.
From the looks of the crab, I’d say both the Crab and the Toad X are ergonomically perfect! Both are definitely better than the rail ergonomic wise.
Yeah popularity mixed with the pre-order discount really drove the ToadX sales. I think for some people it was too light. That's awesome it's working for you though!
@@fidgetnerd it’s kind of light but still has that good weight to it. As I said, I’d rather have either one over the rail. Looks too thin and the ergonomics don’t look good, plus the shiny edges seem slippery. I’ve heard some people in the Magnus group has to brush and stonewash the titanium to get it decent!
I agree. Your hands have to be freshly washed and dried to use the Rail. I love clean hands, but that's a little much for me 😅
@@fidgetnerd same. And imagine that thing with sweaty hands or very cold hands 😭
Lol... unusable.
Yep! I’ve been taking the o-rings out since Magnus introduced the 3-Click sliders. For me it makes them more “crunchy”.
Crunchy is best!
i just got my toadx3 and coral, and i immediately removed the rubber o-rings. its day and night. i just ordered the king crab in zirc/zirc. i cant wait
I noticed a lot more people taking o-rings out after I made this video. It's such an easy mod on any Magnus slider with such crazy results.
is there a way to tell which one is n52 and what is n45 if they get mixed up?
Not really. it's best to mark them so they don't get mixed up.
Great now I need this
🤣... sorry not sorry.
@@fidgetnerd first sight the top d then with the rapt now this?
😂😂
You're welcome? 🤷 For real though. It's a snap-slap. So satisfying. I couldn't put it down after shooting the video.
@@fidgetnerd thanks haha. Need to find one now. I got the rail when that was available. Although I love the rail v2 wishing I also got that one too
Pulled the rings out as soon as I got mine😂
I'm new to the fidgit slider game. After a fair amount of research, purchased a Toad X which is great. The plates and magnet layout look identical to your King Crab. The only difference I can see from this video are a few less ridges in the design. Is it larger overall? As smooth as my slider is, it is sometimes difficult to manipulate when my arthritis is flaring in my hands. I'm wondering if swapping out the magnets on one side like you demonstrated might work for me...any advice would be appreciated.
Welcome to the fidget world!
Yes the ToadX is a bit thinner and harder to push sometimes than my King Crab design. The quickest fix for your hands would be to reduce the magnet strength. If you saw in my video how I removed the small black silicone rings, I would try taking them out on one side of the slider and swapping their position. What I mean is putting the rings into the magnet slots on the slide plate instead. You'll have to take all the magnets out of the slide plate first, then put the rings where the magnets were, then put the magnets back in on top of the rings. This will increase the distance slightly between the magnets on the other side of the slider and therefore decrease the pull force. You can play with this same technique on the other side of the slider as well. Hopefully it will decrease the strength enough for your hands.
You can also buy some PTFE or UHMW tape from Amazon and apply a layer of it to one or both of the slide plates. These kinds of tapes are specially designed to reduce friction.
Good luck. Any other questions, just ask 😊
@@fidgetnerd thanks so much. It was actually your video that gave me the idea. But for some reason I thought you also switched half of the magnets. I'm curious what are the designations for the different magnets and where can they be purchased? Amazon maybe? I will for sure try swapping the silicon rings as you suggested. The whole idea of the tape seems really funky to me, but I'll keep that in mind as well. Thanks again, and I'm a new subscriber to your channel which I really enjoy. Really appreciate the detailed explanation and you taking the time...
I did switch out one side with N52 magnets. Magnus sliders are all N45 magnets. Most of the magnet sources I know of have only N52 magnets. You can try Amazon, I would just read all the reviews closely as I've heard it can be pretty hit or miss for magnets. I'd also ask again specifically on the group for the source where people are buying N35. I will try and get a video out soon on how to properly change magnets as well. You very much need other magnets to help pull out and guide the new magnets into place or it can be very hard on the hands.
Thank you so much for that awesome tipp man !
You're very welcome! Glad there's other nerds out there that like the rattle like I do!
@@fidgetnerd definetly :) greetings from germany
I lived in Flensburg for a while. I miss Germany.
@@fidgetnerd oh really `?:D crazy ,i was there like 4-5 weeks ago :D! but i live in east frisia :)
Yeah I lived on Adelbylund across the street from the Edeka for about 4 months while I was travelling. Good times!
I have a strange question. I've received my first Magnus Titanium slider (ToadX) and I love it. But I have a weird problem. And I don't know if it's common for most people But I find my slider gets extremely sticky over the day. Mind you I wash my hands before using it, but it seems like maybe my hand grease gets deposited on it? I would assume it would make it slippery but instead it starts getting too grippy. I've resorted to cleaning the "shell" side with a cloth and some rubbing alcohol. But I don't understand why it's getting so sticky.
Would getting one with a zirconium finish help with that? Maybe I'm just a greasy bastard. :( lol
Are you talking about the sliding action of the plates being sticky? Or the outside body of it?
@@fidgetnerd Oh, sorry. Yes, the 'outside'. Where you put your hands to move it. The sliding plates are always smooth.
Factors like environmental humidity and skin oils are usually the main culprits. Wash your hands regularly and clean the fidget with a wet wipe. If you're still having issues, it may just be that you have sweaty hands in general. You can try something called Gamer Grip. Keeps your hands dry for hours. gamergrip.com
The King Crab Titanium SS plates VS the Verkk Coral in Titanium SS plates ?
Verkk, no question.
Even being this will be my first figit toy? And thank you
Ooo I'll have to see if I can get more rattle out of my cu Dimple. I feel like this slider would be nice in cu.
Does 50/50 mags feel different than n52s in all corners? I use 52 in my Dimple corners and it seems to help ladders
Ps toad is better than toadx.
Yeah it's kind of an unpopular opinion, but I love the rattle. Only when I'm doing it on purpose though 😅
I've had a Cu Dimple before and I think if I'd done the same mod to it in this video, I would have liked it a lot more. The Cu Dimple absolutely needs the N52s in all corners just because it's so heavy.
Agreed. OG Toad FTW.
Let me know if you want a 3 click toad hahaha.
Not until I recover financially from the next 4 Rapts 😅
@@fidgetnerd 😂😅🤣🥲😭
