  • April 20 marked a new beginning for the 29 recruits who were officially inducted into the #MDFR Cadet Program. Surrounded by family, friends and other loved ones, the recruits from #MDFRCadet2301 were presented with certificates for completing the program and successfully obtaining their American Heart Association CPR and Emergency Medical Responder certifications.
During the ceremony Fire Chief Ray Jadallah shared how the program, previously known as the "Explorer's Program," influenced his career path and guided him toward a life dedicated to serving others. The cadets were commended for their dedication to the program, with special recognition given to graduating seniors for their unwavering commitment.
Cadet Chief Trevis Gettinger was presented with a fireman's ax, symbolizing strength, bravery, and readiness in the face of danger, as a token of appreciation for his service within the cadet group. Attendees of the ceremony were also treated to live demonstrations showcasing some of the skills cadets have learned while being in the program.
The MDFR Cadet Program brings together young adults aspiring for a future in the fire service or a medical-related field to use their skills at organizational functions, community events, and to further their training in the fire service.
