My dad was looking for one and we made an appointment at Dusseldorp in Veenedaal for making a testdrive. We showed up, dad totally in love. We wanted to take it for a testdrive (which we made an appointment for so we could check if all was perfect) but the salesman said “if you are not 100% sure you are buying it you can’t do the testdrive”. We left, bought another bimmer somewhere else.
I've got one, had it for 10 years and absolutely love it. There's nothing I want to change it for. Beautifully made, sublime 😅engineering, fun to drive. Still looks very modern.
This is by far the most extravagant model of BMW. Looks absolutely stunning. I have traded back in 2014 my Audi A7 3.0 for the F07 ,which is way superior than the Audi. Max comfort in combination with high performance, and above all the eccentric look. Simply amazing car❤
Nice review, I like it. I own a 535i GT but with way more options than this one, agreed on everything. I actually wanted to buy a 740i but got this instead for practicality and having owned a E65 its definitely a 7 series with a 5 series price tag. Mine rides on 20" and it's OK the 18" winter tires are better for comfort but if you put the suspension in comfort it's actually very soft. The optional integral steering is a must for this car.
I have a f07 550i gt and if you’re planning on getting such a big car, get the 550i. I saw the acceleration of the 535i gt but its such a big difference between having a twin turbo v8 and a twin turbo l6. If you ever want to review the 550i gt, send me a message im dutch
all 21s on bmws of this generation are that tyre size. I've got an F02 740Li, 21 inch same tyre size. The car is old but offers huge huge advantages for the price. The car with this engine offers the best package any car could ever offer in this price range.
BMW made the 5 Series GT for the 19 discerning drivers across the globe who wanted a hot hatch the size of a 7-Series, the practicality of a small SUV and the driving position of a 5 Series with a 2" lift. Of these 19 discerning drivers, 5 said they would buy one again, citing how its hunchback styling made others on the road wrench in their mouth as a top priority.
What year is this? I drive a 2015 535i GT xdrive and there several weird differences between mine and this one. The tail lights are different, trunk buttons are swapped, mines got dual exhaust while yours has quad, etc....
You get bmw tech so it should be nice ride, it just looks like it's for elderly people and I don't live those looks. But i think it's nice that they offer them.
Bad fuel can lead to fuel injectors going bad, but i guess thats any car. Charge pipe can be bad(plastic aging and coming loose), Old N55 have high pressure fuel pump issue and some have water pump too. But with good maintenance they are good to go. Engine wise its 100%

My dad bought 2014 530d gt 3 years ago and only thing we had to fix was dpf because it catched fire, but when it was removed car really performs great and didnt have any other issues.
@huwsparky175303 it is a violation. Why do you think it's detachable? And when the ball part is off a factory tow mount never protrudes past the bumper..fact.
I can't afford the price to fix this car, it has too many problems! Especially after 60-70K miles. When you finish one issue, the other one will show up shortly. I have 0 knowledge about fixing car, and already spent too much to fix it. So I sold it and got an Accord. Bye bye BMW.
N55 is not a good engine. Common issues include: Valve Cover Oil Leak, Water Pump Failure, Leaking Oil Filter Housing Gasket, VANOS Solenoid Failure, High Pressure Fuel Pump Failure (HPFP). Also the build quality on these generation are bad.

What a world we live in where 300 Hp is slightly underpowered XD. Great review as always guys!
He said it was slightly underpowered for THIS CAR, because of the almost 2t weight.
in a world where cars weigh 2 tons minimum. if you had 300 hp in a 900kg mk1 VW Golf or a Honda CRX that would be a rocketship

Love that Exhaust note, one of my favorite!
“Swiss army knife of BMWs” I definitely agree. These aged pretty well. It’s a hatchback / SUV hybrid basically.
I had this car for test for a weekend and I loved it. Fast, clever, comfortable, but also weird.
Those wheels match the car well. And they're wide enough. Same as the 19s you get on the f10 m sport
I think Max reffered to the tyre wall, rather than width..

Veel gedoe met de N63 motor. Zou het zelf niet aandurven om voor de 50i te gaan.
