@DouglasAllen-gf8mu he hit a solo hr, then in his next three at-bats, he GIDP, and K'd twice. Paredes had 3 hits, didn't screw up running the bases, and no errors. We've got the better end of that deal. Morel was dead weight.

Cubs will win about 75 -80 games in 2025 with this ‘vaunted’ lineup and rotation. If it weren’t for the schedule that had Milwaukee playing at LA and now against the Braves Cubs would be 15-20 back. They’re just fortunate to play in the weakest division where their rare blowouts are magnified. Especially by less than objective reporters, pundits, and bloggers.
Even if the Cubs are not able to make the postseason, I would like to see them go out with a bang like tonight's game. Let them prove that they can compete. If nothing else so that they can at least not finish last in what is likely the weakest division in Major League Baseball.

I agree. They have to play for pride the rest of the season and perhaps spoiled some playoff teams. Win series and gain momentum for next season.
