The custom metal models built by Guillermo Rojas Bazán are considered the best in the world in their category by several institutions of wide international prestige such as the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame, the National Museum of the United States Air Force and Christie's South Kensington. See "Recognition letters" here:
www.rojasbazan....
He has worked as a professional model maker in four different countries building over 150 aluminum models in different scales for museums, collectors and aviation art galleries around the world during 38 years. See the related story:
www.rojasbazan...
I have seen this many times and some of your other models, your talent is incredible , there is no description that can fit your skills
bucky bowman Thank you, Bucky!
He has more hours in these models than some full-size aircraft I have built. Unbelievable craftsmanship and perseverance.
Patrick, thank you for the comment. Yes, it's true; the time I have invested in building my models is tremendous. Comparing, Ford built a B-24 every 60 minutes and I've been working on a 1:20 scale Liberator for two and a half years (full time) and I still haven't finished it!
This work of art should be preserved in a museum
Many of my models are in museums but most are in private collections. Thanks for watching.
I've always thought the Corsair was one of, if not the most beautiful aircraft of WWII. This model is just incredible in detail and a real treat to look at. Superb.
Truly mind blowing attention to detail. I'm totally speechless!!!
Very many thanks for sharing! I can't wait to see more of your work!
Thank you for your kind attention, my friend!
Thank you very much for your kind words, Joshua!
Tu sei semplicemente un genio. Non ho mai visto un livello di dettaglio così alto. Tutti i miei complimenti.
Grazie mille, signore!
Thank you Pop-Pop, I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts!
Never seen a model so real. There was times in the video.I could not tell if it was the model or the actual full size corsair setting in the hanger .Respect to u and ur modeling skills wish i was that good .=)
Amazing work. Inspiring to all model builders.
Thank you very much, sir!
Thank you for your kind words, sir.
You have truly achieved the ultimate dream of every modeler. You have constructed a true miniature of the full scale plane, down to every rivet. Unbelievable!
Thank you, sir.
Amazing level of detail....Dedication.
Thank you, sir.
Absolutely Incredible. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, David.
Amazing engineering skills. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, sir.
isso é acima da perfeição, muito bom trabalho!
Muito obrigado, Luca.
Thank you for your comment, Joseph.
I´m working on my first DVD tutorial.
I cannot donate anything to museums because I make my money building models. Anyway many of my models are exhibed in museums in different countries.
I'm seeing it, but I can't believe what I'm seeing. It's a work of art.
Thank you, Richard.
Excellent, just excellent work! Thank you for posting your video(s)!
Thank you, Jack!
What talent!
Thank you for your comment, sir.
you are truly a master of master craftsman! I would love to see you build a full scale plane!
MUSTBUYRIGHT Thank you for the comment!
no puede ser es un marciano el señor rojas.. bravo
@jackson32ish
Thank you my friend, your comment is very much appreciated!
Fabulous! Thank you.
Thank you, sir.
You are an extraordinary person and we can only but applaud your beautiful creations. I have not seen all your work but my Father's favourite Aircaft was the P-61 Black Widow. Do you have plans to build it? It is an incredible plane with flowing lines yet menacing to the eye.
God Bless You.
Sir, thank you very much for your kind words. I never had the opportunity to build the Black Widow because as a professional modeler, I almost always had to build what the clients commissioned me. To see all the models I built visit this page (not yet updated):
www.rojasbazan.com/models/index.html
Amazing!
+s9523pink
Thank you. sir.
Great work.
Thank you, Kevin.
Simply amazing
Thank you, Gianluca.
Beautiful, fantastic
Thank you, Michael.
Yes, see 5:10 and 7:27
Rojas,
Could you tell me what color and brand of paint that is that you used for the green interior surfaces?
This is an awesome model! I wish I were 1/15 scale so I could fly it!
Jst WOW! Breathtaking!
Thank you, sir.
True work of art. Is the radial an actual working motor or electrically driven. No sound so don't know!
Speechless.....
Actual working Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp 18-cylinder in the little 1:15 scale? Only in the Twilight Zone. Of course the motor is electrically driven. Thank you for watching.
Saludos.
Es usted un maestro.
Muchas gracias, Oscar.
This is defo NOT a criticism ( because I could never achieve this level of finish ) but I wish it was left bare metal. I love the look of bare metal models.
I agree. Even I don't like the monotone color of this version, but I'm a professional modeler and I have to build what my clients want and pay for.
@@rojasbazan Thank you. Its absolutely stunning.
Can you do how to videos ? Please would love to learn. thanks
I'm working on my first tutorial DVD. Thank you for watching my videos.
hello! when your DVD tutorial will be released ?
+SpiritCrusher
I'm still working on that. I'm going slow because at the same time I have to build models for living.
I have scratch built large models that had great details, but they look like first grader clay blobs now. Bravo! I would love to see more of how you made all the parts. I am very happy that you have this gift! Who knows how many countries you would have conquered by now if you didn't stay so busy with the models!?
Brian, thank you for the comment. I already started working on my first DVD tutorial a few days ago: I mentioned that in my last video "Ju 87 B-1 part 3". Either way there are many clues to my techniques in several of my videos and in the hundreds of photos uploaded to my website. Watch on my channel the videos about the Zero, the Vought OS2U, or the Stuka (for example), where I show the chronological progress in building my models from start to finish. It is a big help for modelers that have no idea where star. This is a good help for modelers who don't know where to start.
You built this from scratch? Sir ... allow me to salute you! What a talent you have.
Thank you, sir!
One could hardly even call these 'models'. This is a whole different category to anything else.
Thank you, James, I really appreciate your comment.
Correct. These are true replicas. The maker got everything perfect, except the size.... :-)
Just kidding. This is marvelous. The maker could possibly build a 1:1 working version while blindfolded.
You sir are cheating...I think you own a "miniaturising machine"! You used it to miniaturise the real Corsair to 1/15 scale!!
Thank you for your comment, sir.
Amazing. This isn't like building a model, but basically a real plane, just smaller. Respect for such skill and determination.
Thank you sir. In a couple of months I'll upload my new video about the Ju87 B1, another "engineering model".
I believe you have made a pact with the Devil to make such things. The craftsmanship is supernatural.
Are you a fan of the Twilight Zone? I only make pacts with my guardian angel. Thank you for watching.
Mr Bazan, Not only you have scratchbuilt a model like I have never seen anyone else do, you than painted it like I have never seen anyone do.
Those positive aluminium rivets give the model amazing reality.
Than the patina... I'm left speachless.
You are the KING!!!
Sir, thank you very much for watching my videos and your comments; I really appreciate that.
There are no words Sir! Totally world class craftsmanship!! Bravo!!
Well done!!
Thank you for the comment, Sir!
@@rojasbazan
Hi again,
Your quite welcome!!
After watching this video I think I’ll give away my half dozen not started plastic models and find a new hobby.
Thank you for the message, sir.
rojasbazan Thank you for sharing your beautiful craftsmanship.
Where in the world do you find blueprints so detailed? Mind blowing models, couldn’t believe it when I first heard of your work.
Sir, I spend a lot of time searching for technical information and making my own drawings. Watch my video "Ju 87 Part 1" where I explain about that:
ruclips.net/video/busXOfS6zXM/видео.html
Thank you for watching.
My God. Unbelievable.
Unequaled. Master piece.
Thank you Rojas Bazan.
Thank you for the comment, Joe.
Dankeschön, Marc. This model weighs a couple of kilos, enough to not fly ever (if we consider that its size is small for a RC). Of course so much weight is due to the extreme amount of details. Anyway my techniques are adaptable to RC models (in larger scales if possible).
Seriously Sir, your skills are legendary. Thank you for posting!
+celticat61
As other comments, I have just found this after a year (youtube bureaucracy). Thank you for the comment!
It's beautiful. Thanks's for sharing it. I'm laughing because this model could serve as a prototype reference for other models. Is it an electric motor that spins the prop?
+Kevin Dahlhausen
As other comments, I have just found this after a year (youtube bureaucracy). Yes, it is an electric motor. Thank you for the comment.
absolutely incredible. I don't understand how he could make the components without the help of electric powered equipment!
Jim Slaughter I'm going to show that in my tutorial DVD. Thanks for watching.
I love this! I'm a big Corsair fan!
Do you still have this model?
Thank you, sir. I sold this model 20 years ago.
I'm pretty sure you can walk on water
oh, no...I would sink. Thank you for watching.
Again, I look at this model and it's hard to believe I'm not looking at a full size Aircraft, I just can't imagine how any person can do such detailed exacting work. What a gift you have, thanks for showing this video.
Sir, in these times where all modeling is based on plastic kits and accessories, it is very motivating for those of us who still work by hand to receive messages like yours. Thank you again!
WOW! If large scale aircraft plastic modeling was considered as intermediate through advanced, then your work is seems to be very extremely advanced. That detail surpasses anything molded in styrene, great work!
wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!!! I can sit and watch these videos all night. what a talent
Ted, thank you for watching my videos!
The model is so very, very beautiful. The F4U Corsair is my favourite plane. You are indeed an artisan...a very rare breed of artistic individual. Thank you for making this amazingly beautiful things.
Michael, thank you so much for the kind comment.
This is the most amazing model I've ever seen ! I thought I was good scratch building a few things for 1/25 model cars....now I feel embarrassed . I just can't believe the craftsmanship , the attention to detail...ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE....WOW !!
Rob, thank you for the words. In a few days I'll upload new videos about my latest model, a Ju87 B-1 in 1:16 scale, that I consider my best model.
To say your work is incredible is a vast understatement.
Thank you, James.
Literally one of the most amazing things I’ve seen!
Thank you for the comment, Greg.
This is absolutely incredible !! Amazing crafsmanship !!
Thank you for your kind words, sir!
Thank you for posting this well done
Thank you for watching, Stephen.
I agree. I was thinking He could impress all the brains who have been. Is this dude going to work as an engineer? You are an engineer dude. Top of the line, seriously intelligent. How do you surpass so many hurdles? How the hell do you get custom shaped Plexiglas? Your engines? Are you cutting brass tube for bullets or rolling sheet brass? My word every project you do should go straight to the Smithsonian.
Thank you for your comment, Daniel. I know I have to edit a video showing my techniques (I've wanted to do it for years). My big problem is the lack of time because I have to build the models commissioned by my clients (as a professional model maker, I live on this). On my website there is a lot of information about my work and international career (see link Press> International Press).
Absolutely perfect! I havn't seen such detailed work before..... amazing.....👍
+turbocompound
Thank you for the comment, sir.
I don't see how that's humanly possible. I'm thinking...aliens. Seriously, well done!
Thank you, Ryan.
Jaw dropping! I appreciate the silence. No commentary is needed.
Miles, my first videos have music, but that brought me some copyright issues and advertising saturation. But the point is that I'm trying to visually show my work as much as possible without almost using words (except for some sentences in English and Spanish).I have friends who watch my videos or visit my website and are from Germany, France, Russia, Italy, China and many other countries and do not understand English, so this is something experimental.
@@rojasbazan I understand completely. It's an obvious problem as music may be universal, trying to suit everyone's taste is impossible. On the other hand Silence Is Golden!
rojasbazan,
Sir, even though this is an old posting, I must say that your work is pure art. I've had an eye toward authenticity all of my life and I've built many models in many different scales with WWII aircraft being my favorite. Your work is the very best that my eyes have ever seen. The weathering effects give your work perfection beyond words. Sir you should be proud, you have a God given gift like no other. I just had to subscribe.
Dear William, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, I really appreciate it. Guillermo.
My favorite airplane! Thank you for investing your time to do the work and putting this video up. Much appreciated!
Thank you, Paul, I appreciate the kind words!
VERY,VERY well done, thankyou for the video........Is the model light enough that it could (theoretically) fly? Although I realize that having put such a huge amount of work into a model you never would want to really test this (I wouldn't want you to)
Sir, I just found this message after so many years. This is because I started using the youtube Studio beta and found many messages from years ago that I have never seen before .It is impossible for these models to fly because due to the amount of details in metal, they are four times heavier than an RC model on the same scale. In a couple of months I'll upload two new videos about my latest model, a Ju 87 B1 Stuka. Thank you for watching.
Truly beautiful. This is not a model, this is a work of art created by a true master! I am in awe of the detail and can't begin to comprehend the amount of time spent researching and creating this masterpiece. Hats off to you sir!
Thank you, sir. I took a whole year (full time) to build this model.
Aristotle, Plato, Leonardo Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Mozart, Bach…… And now Guillermo Rojas Bazan.
I know it's been a few years since you posted this, but time has not diminished your incredible accomplishments, but merely allowed us to appreciate them even more. Words do no justice. Thank you will have to suffice! Greetings from the USA.
Thom, thank you very much for the comment (people are going to think that you are someone of my family or my best friend, ha ha). I'm about to finish a Ju87 with lots of details, so I'll soon upload the new video. I also live in the USA.
I build models and good ones but I have never seen anything this...remarkable
Thank you for the comment, sir.
Michelangelo and DaVinci would be jealous.
Just indescribably incredible. Thanks for sharing your talent and technical prowess.
Pete, thank you very much for the nice message.
Absolutely beautiful! I can't imagine the dedication, and years of perfecting your talent and skill to achieve something this wonderful. This is a masterpiece! And I always loved the real thing, but this us arguably more impressive. You are a Master, as others have commented. Do you create them on commission for clients? What would something like this cost? It's hard to imagine, it seems priceless! I hope you get all the recognition and wealth you deserve.
Thank you sir. Yes, I work on commission for collectors and museums for 30 years. You can find a lot of information on my website.
the greatest model maker of all time.
Thank you for watching my videos!
you're truly great engineer...God gifted talent.amazing.
BERLIN RAMIREZ Thank you my friend.
I wish I could shrink myself to 1:15 scale and take off with it. Speachless!
Thank you, sir.
This is beyond skill and dedication. Quite amazing.
Thank you, Chris.
Sir, I ditto all the Positive comments ! How long do these take to build? Holy Cow simply amazing. Happy New Year
Thank you for the nice comment. The F4U took one year of work. The B-17 three years (full time). Happy New Year, sir.
Nothing but a top quality museum piece utterly beautiful
Thank you, Barry.
thats just bonkers,,, you my friend are not from this world,,,,,
as an ex aircraft enginner i am truly astounded by your skills
David, considering your profession, your opinion is an honor for me. Thank you.
This is 100% legit scale modeling , nothing I have seen in my 40 years compares to your masterpieces!!
Thank you sir, I appreciate your comment.
Holy crap, this isn't a model, you built an actual aircraft! I don't know what to say, this is stunning beyond belief!
Sir, I built only 24 models in 1:15 scale, a few in 1:10 and more than 110 models in scale of 1:40 for three museums. I also built several models on scale 1:24. If you want to know the timeline of my work since 1980 please visit my website or the other 13 videos on this channel. Thank you for the comments.
Although the scale is big (1/15), for real engine models it is small. I use electric motors. Yes, I built a Curtiss P-40 B. RUclips uses a system quite confusing wich makes the related videos are not directly linked. Lot of people ask me if I built models of which I have uploaded videos to youtube. I have 12 videos uploaded. You only need to search my account or visit my website where the links are.
Hello Jan,I built my model for the owner of a real F4U (he also used my model as ¨master¨and copied it in limited edition). For this reason this person had all the engineeering drawings, manuals and even microfilms. This was 20 years ago. Today you can get CDs with this kind of information on the internet.
My techniques are a self-taught process. When I was a kid there were no modelers that make this type of work in the same way that i work and there was no internet to be influenced by other people. I have already built more than 200 models in aluminum and do not know anyone that has built this amount of aluminum models.
O M G ........ that's a miniature plane not a model ........... do you sell to the general public ?
Richard, I am professional model maker since 40 years ago. All the information is on my web site. Thank you for watching.
rojasbazan
Could you give me your website please?
It's so perfect that closing it in its aluminum and fabric cover is almost a crime.
All the precision and perfection of the whole structure gets lost.
For much of the video, the images led me to think of a 1/1 replica even though I knew that the model was in 1/15 scale.
The shooting with the engine running while the model is being shot is the only one that takes you back to the reality of the dimensions.
I've never seen anything so perfect.
It would be a good thing that all the construction plans of all the historical planes, at least those that remained, could be available to anyone as a historical find including engines.
When it comes to building technologies that are now obsolete, there is no longer any military interest to hide.
We are losing a part of the history of aviation building technologies, perhaps obsolete but always of great historical value.
Just two little questions: how much weighs the whole model?
How you've made the engine?
Thanks in advance
I understand your point, but that was the choice of the company who ordered the model. Anyway only the collector who bought the model (and some friends) can see it in person, but more than 190,000 people can appreciate those details through the photos on my website and this video.
Of course I do the engines too, otherwise it wouldn't really be a model built entirely on scratch.
The weight can be approximately about 4 kilos.
You can visit my website, where it is all explained in two languages.
About another of your questions: Google: Scratch Building (or scratchbuilding) is the process of building a scale model from scratch.
@sanggarD5
Thank you!
Don´t use electrical machines. My principal tools are scissors, cutter blades and metal scriber...and enormous patience!
I´m working on my first commercial video showing my techniques and tips.
Thank you, sir for your kind comment. After I complete the Zero I´m going to build a series of models in 1/32 and 1/24 scale. That way I´m going to be able to build more models in less time.
Thank you for your kind comment!
I built the F4U model 19 years ago.
In about two months I am going to upload my first video in HD: A6M2 Zero, Part one.
Thank you for watching my videos!
Yes, I built several models of planes of the WWI and also of the period of between wars. There are photos of these models in my new website. Also I have uploaded a video on the Nieuport 11.
Thank you for visiting my channel, Mr.Mullis, I really appreciate your kind words. When I complete the A6M2 Zero I´m going to build a series of smaller models in scales of 1/24 and 1/32.
@AzcarateAzcarate
Gracias Andrés por tus palabras. Tus modelos totalmente en scratch son muy bonitos. No se puede describir la satisfacción que se siente al tener la posibilidad de poder construir de la nada el modelo que uno quiere.
@Zitropat
