Thanks for the comment, Nathan. As I have already told many people, when I complete the B-24, I'll dedicate myself exclusively to finishing the "tutorial kit" project before starting to work on another model. My "tutorial kit" will be a combination of DVD, booklet, and some aluminum parts (ribs, stringers, spars, panels, covers, etc.) to teach my basic techniques. For many years my project and great desire is to make several videos and a book showing all my techniques and tips, but due to the construction of my models I can never dedicate the necessary time to it. That is why the "tutorial combo" will be ideal for many modelers who want to have early access to this informative material without having to wait for more years until I have enough time to present a more complete and in-depth tutorial.

Thank you, Ned. During the 1980s I built several models in smaller scales of 1:24, 1:32, and 1:40, including the Handley Page Halifax. Maybe one day I can build a Lancaster. In any case, I am no longer going to work on large scales of 1:15 or 1:20 because each model takes me two to three years. It is too much for a single model and the prices are very expensive

Thank you very much for your comment, David. Before settling in the USA, I had built 104 airplane models in different scales (mainly 1:40) for two museums in Argentina. Then I settled in Spain and spent two years selling models to Executive Display Models in London and Heritage Aviation Art, in Seattle.
When I settled in the USA in 1993, my work was already known mainly by collectors. In the fall of 1995 Cigar Aficionado magazine (general interest) published a four page article about my work and my story. "Although Rojas Bazan was not widely known (in the USA), he had a small following of collectors in this country, and was known to people in the esoteric world of expensive, one-off models. One who knew of RB's work is GK, who owns Fine Art Model".
I worked exclusively for FAM for 14 years, building prototypes that were later copied in limited editions. Then the internet appeared, and then the algorithms, that only seek to position whoever gives the most profit (if I added a plastic kit brand in the titles of my videos, millions would enter!).
My field is model engineering, not the plastic models world; although they have things in common, they are different disciplines.
Visit this link to learn more (my website needs to be fixed because there are scattered titles and some broken links, but it works 90%). Thank you for your support, David.

Incredible! Attention to detail, the precision, and the research.... Your work is beyond words. Even knowing this is a "model", I felt I could climb up in to the beast and go to work!
    I tip my hat Sir!
I have a special place for the B-24. My Uncle (my Dad's brother) was a bombardier on one. It was pretty badly shot up and was lost in the Owen Stanley Mountains of New Guinea. The plane was found about 9 years ago and the U.S. recovery team went out to the wreck. There were no remains or parachutes in the aircraft, and All sensitive equipment was smashed/destroyed.
They did bail out. However, .....
This area of New Guinea is home to the headhunters. The Allies and the Japanese knew that if the crash or the jungle didn't get you, the Headhunters would and did.
The Recovery Team was able to get to many of the wrecks and usually found no remains or incomplete remains. We were grateful for the news, as my Uncle and the entire Crew, went from MIA-Presumed Dead to Lost in Action. We, and many other families, were finally able to close that chapter.
To ALL those Men are still on the mission🙏

Sir, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and I appreciate you wanting to recommend my work. Anyway, after finishing the B-24- I'm going to dedicate myself to editing and selling a Tutorial Kit (DVD combo, booklet and metal parts). Then I want to go back to building small-scale models like I did in my early years, in 1:24, 1:32, and 1:48 scale. That way I will be able to build some models that I never had the opportunity to build before, in less time and at lower prices (these models, like the B-24, are VERY expensive! The price is equivalent to three years of salary of a professional modeler in the USA). Thank you for your support.

Saludos cordiales.

Michelangelo is venerated and will be for the rest of human history. But this, this is a greater work of art than anything he slapped on a church ceiling or chipped out of rock. I'm a maker too. I've designed and scratch built things, so I absolutely recognise and appreciate the effort that goes into a build like this. It's the little details that would by-in-large go unnoticed by the majority. The tiny stencilled writing. The tiny brackets holding a hose. The accurate runs of rivets. Those things are noticed and appreciated. Audermars Piguet would be charging 50k for this level of craft. This build is no less valuable. Thank you for making me realise I've got some miles to tread before I can be truly satisfied with my own work.

    • @rojasbazan
      @rojasbazan  10 месяцев назад +1

Sir, I thank you very much! You are putting into words what I always tried to demonstrate in my models. Correctly detailing a model that represents a historical machine does not mean filling it with wires and small pieces of sui generis shape without meaning or proportion. That requires investing a lot of time in research and also understanding what "catches our eye". A good aeronautical mechanics manual from the 30s or 40s costs almost the same as a plastic modeling magazine, and what you learn is hundreds of times more useful. In your case, obviously you realize the same thing, and you also work from scratch, which leads you to analyze, investigate on your own and build without following the current fashion in modeling, which makes thousands of models around the world look almost identical because the modelers apply the same "trending techniques". Thank you for the comment!

Metal aircraft modeling is still a very small field and we all know each other. Some even copied "my" 1:15 scale, when the similar "popular" scale was always 1:16).
