In 9 min. the Messerschmitt BF 109 G from Artesania Latina is assembled bit by bit in some stopmotion like interpretation according to Erick Miotkes inspiring music track "dawn epilogue".
The kit in scale 1/16 is a multimedia kit with metal, plastic and rubber parts electrified to move the propeller and light the dashboard and navigation lights. The paint used for this kit is from Alclad II - metallics and mil-specs.

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was a German World War II fighter aircraft that was, along with the Focke-Wulf Fw 190, the backbone of the Luftwaffe's fighter force. The Bf 109 first saw operational service in 1937 during the Spanish Civil War and was still in service at the dawn of the jet age at the end of World War II in 1945. It was one of the most advanced fighters when it first appeared, with an all-metal monocoque construction, a closed canopy, and retractable landing gear. It was powered by a liquid-cooled, inverted-V12 aero engine. It was called the Me 109 by Allied aircrew and some German aces, even though this was not the official German designation. Хобби
Older fellow like me have a special love for stop motion, we did not have CGI as kids, this peculiar motion is linked to precious childhood memories. Nice work BTW!
Thank you
Stop motion? The thing built itself dude what you on about?🤨

The wow never ends !!!
I don't think I've ever been as simultaneously impressed and anxious as watching this. The choreography and time is an immense effort.
Thank you
I don't even built metal planes and yet I sat here the length of the video and watched it all. Such a wonderful presentation of animation and skill. Wonderful work!
I'm pleased to hear 😊
Side note: A properly black prop and spinner on a G where very rare. Almost all used RLM 70 which is a greenish black.
The green navigation light is on the right, red is on the left.
Came out awesome with the exception of one detail. You have the wing tip marker lights backwards. Red goes on the left and green on the right...;)
Love that you share this stuff because it would be a cold day in hell that I paid the absurd price for anything Artesania Latina offers!
Enchanting. My old man would have loved your videos. Not only was he a model maker, and used to fly model planes via control line back in the day, he served in WWII. He was an engine mechanic for the R.A.A.F, and was seconded to the R.A.F.
So while he wouldn't have worked on one of these, he did work on Spitfires, among others. He also worked on the Catalina flying boats, both during and after the war. After the war he was part of the maintenance crew for the Catalinas that flew out of Rose Bay in Sydney for Qantas.
I'm pleased to hear your man would have loved it. Thanks for your interesting story.
Red navigation light goes on the left wingtip, right wingtip gets the green.
😳 Dude. Really?
😵🤣
I bet you’re fun at parties.
@@amyhogarten5038 Really. My comment was not meant to be criticism. If you build a scale model, would you not want to make it as accurate as you can? Hopefully this is information that Tom can use in his future builds to further advance his already capable skills.

Great spot👍🏽.
A bit turse.
Much like this.
No criticism here.
A friendly observation.
🙏🏾
WOW!!! This is really impressive! Nice video and fantastic model. Good work!
There are some real craftsmen out there in this world..........
One of the most creative modeling channels I’ve had the privilege of enjoying. Would love to see some behind the scenes content. Thank you for this.
Thanks for your kind words
This Is the most beautyful way of Modelling, that I ever seen in my life. It's a miracle in movement. Congratulations for an awesome work, ¡simply miracoulous!
Thanks for your kind words 😊
Magical... the model, the music, the motion. Great work Tom!
I am now at the ending of building my Artesania messersmith! and are pleased to say that every part was present, and that it was great fun to build. there were a few small snags! but nothing more than I could handle! I somehow missed a printed asembly guide! instead of the cd rom, as I had no way of playing it.
But i used my imagination, and the above stopmotion!!
the quality was ecellent, But its a big bird!!, and I cannot yet find a place to put it! and I somehow feel lost! because Im finished! Anyhow It was one of my best Cristmas!
OMG! TY so much for that awesome clip that gave me way more joy than building a model by myself.
I'm pleased to hear
This is just crazy!
Not only the model itself and the assembly of it but you did a stop-motion version!
Wikipedia states that 167 BF109G-1 was built between February and June in 1942. On average they produced 8 per week during that period.
This assembly took you six weeks.
Wow! I don’t know what’s better… The building of the mode or the production of the video. Thanks once more for sharing!
I'm happy to hear
I think you've the navigation lights reversed on the wing tips. The green light is in the right wing tip and the left wing is equipped with the red light.
So much talent goes into making this, and people spent so much on NFT and do not appreciate the amazing work put into making this model. Should worth thousands of dollars
Thanks a lot 😊
Wow! This is the next step of modellism.🌟
I'm pleased you like it
I've dabbled with stop motion, can't imagine the time required to shoot all of that. very well done, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Awesome production! I hope they come out with another kit like this. Definitely a blast to build.
This is just incredible. The paint, transition trick is especially cool. Respect..
Very cool - the wingtip navigation lights are backwards, though. Starboard should be green, and port red. This is the worldwide standard for ships and aircraft.
I noticed this too. Ruined the video for me as soon as I saw that light go in.
@@c.w.winger221 should’ve mirror-imaged the video! 😂
Unfortunately I followed the instructions without even thinking about it could have been wrong marked. Sorry for my mistakes....
@@TomGrigat Ignore the nay-sayers, amazing work and beautiful filming. Thank you for sharing!
@@relder840 Yes, beautiful, incorrect work.
One of the things I find most interesting in this video is how segments show a bare metal piece that shifts in quick stages to painted. Great job on the placement and transition shots. Always impressive.
I'm pleased to hear
Beautiful work! As always!
Great video Tom!!!
Incredible. Amazing work and an amazing-looking kit!
I love models, and that one is damn cool. I just can't imagine where I would put a 1/16th scale aircraft model. That's ginormous.
A saw a lot of Videos of Scale Modells.. But i never saw something like This.. Boaaahhh the stopmotion and the music and then this beautiful piec of history!... Just wow!
Thank you so much for the video 🙂
I'm happy you like my work 😊
Very cool model! I appreciate the effort it took not only to build it, but to film the process in stop motion. Thanks for putting this video out!
I'm happy you like it 😊
A beautiful work! Congrats Tom
Simply THANK YOU. AWESOME as always and spellbindingly entertaining. Cheers
I loved everything, including the futuristic music in this video.
Awesome build and video Tom 👍😎
I really like this exposed airframe style of model and am in fact attempting my own scratch build B17f at the moment. But i love your video style. Great job.
Thank you

Stunning work. Well done…
LOVE 💗 the 1/16th scale … TOMs best when he goes BIG. 👏👏👏👏👏
One ought to take a moment and appreciate stop motion picture even if its subject is not something you enjoy or would not particularly watch. Whether it was done by hand or by computer the artwork should be viewed with general respect and recognition.
I found this video to be incredibly lovely to watch.
Great work!
I'm pleased to hear 😊
Ty! For this, absolutely fantastic, made my whole day
I have no words! I've seen all your works, but this one beats them all. The assembly of the pieces, the direction of the video and the music make it a unique film, worthy of an Oscar.
Dear Tom, I just dare to say: "keep it up and make us dream". 👍 🔝 😃
Thanks for your kind words 😊

Just viscerally satisfying to witness something tangible and of some intricacy be built

This takes modelling to a level I've never seen before. I'll never complain about 1:72 airfix being difficult again!
Very impressive build and video, thank you!
Damn you RUclips algorithm. I am not a model builder but that was beautiful. Now I want one too.
Oh wow this kit is ca. 700€ but it looks like it has a great build quality.
I'm happy you wasn't that disappointed by the youtube suggestions. Feel free to take a look at my other experiments...
@@TomGrigat I do, thank you =)
That's very interesting dude. I feel stunned to see this legendary fighter's internal materials.
Thank you
The amount of effort is incredible!
Imagine somehow time-warping and showing this video to British aircraft developers in 1935.. hahaha. Outstanding video.
9 minutes of single pictures in time lapse, great work!!!
This is absolutely phenomenal!!
Thank you very much
Para ser sinceros, para ser una escala 1/16 (más bien grande) el nivel de detalle es bastante bajo
