Steve, Brian and Law are not mid, I think everyone is hoping on Main Man's train of thoughts, and copy pastes his tier list which mostly depends of his mood. In that list Lars is A and Brian is B tier. The only one mid tier here is Jun. Doing good work with her is hard, but she has a lot of tools, she is not far behind.

Yes. The level of play has clearly elevated. The first day of Evo Japan was so bad i peaced out. This tournament's first day had slayer vs slayer standoff matches.

It's hard to play like that. That's why only 2 law mains can place higher in tournament. Where are other laws? I mean it's very hard to play like double and malgu.
The tournament organizers ranked Double so low as a seed, that the projections had him meet and lose to Kalak at a very early round lol. They made it unfairly difficult for Double (ignoring his TWT points) but it backfired as he beat the best EU players and ended winning the whole thing with style.

Seeding system as a whole ensures that more successful players are less likely to face a tough opponent early on. Double was not seeded accordingly with his TWT points or general performance. He was given the scrub treatment lol.
@@echo8168 Yeah it's dumb. Out of all participants, Double was the 5th highest TWT ranked player before the tournament (2nd now). He was seeded 34th in the tournament, lower than Kalak and 32 others. This led to Joka, the two-time Mixup champion, to fall in losers prematurely. Double had it tough systematically, whereas Joka had to be the unlucky guy to face the wolf in the sheep's guise lol. Granted seeding takes into account other factors than TWT points, but 34th was just too low for Double. Organizers and commentators underestimated him..

Honestly it depends on my mood and what im doing for the video length to matter as second screen content. I think splitting them in pieces first than releasing it like this might make sense. I usually prefer the shorter vids when im watching on the phone and the longer one when im sitting down in my computer. Hope that helps!
I think this tournament showed that Dragunov is just fine, he does high damage as he shoud, but his biggest strength which is opression, can also be his downfall. Just look what happens if Drag gets too comfortable, he gets can canned. Steves b1, Laws d2 3, Yoshis flash. Theres plenty solutions to shut him down and make him scared, forcing him to eat more pressure himself. I really dont see a problem with him. Just like JDCR said, he is very strong, but in this game his weakness is that he HAS to go in.
Drag is super strong and popular, but every top tournament players know the matchup. Only scrub laws will use d+23 because it's launch punishable. You don't see top law players use d+23.

i much prefer long, split up, with full speed gameplay and maybe analysis AFTER so i can watch the matches with your commentary and if I feel like seeing the slow-mo analysis, I can watch it then. Don't want to watch the full match without your commentary before for context, you're the reason I'm watching at all
I'll be honest I don't think I've looked at a tier list past the top 5 and so I basically have no idea what a mid tier character is, the characters on the thumbnail are also hard characters for me to beat if I let them establish offence.

Hi @PhiDX, sorry for change the subject of the video, but could you or anyone here explain why the numbers for the spring kick on block change so much? I saw a variation from -12 to -19, including the numbers in the middle of these. Thanks man, great content !!
It depends on spacing. For example, if you get a knockdown and you're in your opponent's face and they spring kick, you'll have all day to launch them because it'll be like -20. But if they land further away from you and immediately spring kick and you block it, but it's toward the end of the hit because you're farther away, you'll have to do your simple -10 or -12 punish. In other words, blocking it in their face is a free launch because you've already recovered from block stun and they're still in the air, and blocking it further away is a smaller punish because they've already almost hit the ground when you recover from block stun. Hope this helped

I dont think the long format of these videos is good. The reason (at least for me) is because I have to actively be watching Tekken to understand what's going on and these longer type of videos. I tend to watch in the background while I do something else and that just doesn't work with Tekken.
I would love to see that too. I doubt we will see a Lee anytime soon though. Lee just can't play small Tekken he's so reactionary whereas high level play is mostly small Tekken. But would love to see how top players pilot him though. 😃
I think Lee has some of the best small Tekken in the game. You just have to apply his options to their specific use cases which can be demanding in the execution departement and exhausting for your mind while your opponent cycles their 3 best options. That is not a Lee problem though.

There is no mid-tier in Tekken 8! Almost every character has a gimmick in T8, if used effectively can win you the tournament.
