I’m starting French Horn this week actually. I play several instruments, but this will be my first brass instrument, and when I tried it out recently I was so impressed the beauty of the instrument that I immediately signed up to learn it. Very much excited!
I mean, my high school music teacher did always tell us the rest of the band was there to support the French horn section...lol
That teacher is doing the lord’s work.

My all time favorite scene in Star Wars
I constantly listen to this, I love the French horn sound. It has the most beautiful sound to come from a wind instrument. John Williams was a brilliant composer, one of the best soundtrack composers of all time. Whenever I want to feel uplifted and relaxed at the same time, I pull up this video. Thank you so much for your amazing ability to play the French Horn.

Must be using the B-flat trigger. Gives him a whole extra Perfect 4th to play with. Either that, or he's using a Descant Horn, where the F side is tuned 1 octave higher than on a normal double-horn.

to be honest if you just slam down the first valve and shoot for the stars its a piece of cake.

Absolutely love these videos. As a young horn player it is super inspiring to hear how amazing horn can be at an advanced level. My one question is: Was this all done in one take or did you piece together the songs and transitions? Obviously you layered the parts on top of one another. But did you play each straight through?
As a former trumpet player who switched to horn, i am very impressed at how amazing the tone quality is. My tone always sounds to brassy and sounds like a trumpet...

Going home or else it's going to make me cry....😢) I wish E.T. Could have just stayed with me them

Well I've been playing for 25 years now ( I started at 8 and I'm now 33 ! )
It took me years to be really comfortable in the high register, but the more you play and practice, the easier it'll get ;)
For me it was all about playing a lot in many different genres, always trying and pushing my limits !
Also don't be afraid to play things which aren't part of the traditional "horn repertoire", it's a good way to develop your technique :)

Is it possible that you could make this arrangements sheet music available for purchase? If it already is, I was not able to find it on your website.
I've been trying to have it published for years but since I used music from more than 20 movies all managed by different companies it turned out to be pretty difficult ( not to say impossible ) to make it happen..
So I've taken the decision to publish selected pieces from it, the first one being Somewhere In My Memory from Home Alone. It's now available for horn duet and quartet, as a full-length version based on the segment from this medley!

This is brilliant, especially the sheet music as a guide! I was wondering, were you possibly thinking about a tribute to the horn music of James Horner and Jerry Goldsmith? Just as in Star Wars their Star Trek music is very horn orientated and there are many other pieces they wrote which would make a great addition to a tribute as well.
Love it so far, you really are a talented player, I have seldomly heard such fluidity in difficult transitions. Amazing composition as well. Thank you!
