I love ur videos ur mom is so sweet and I like how u have patient teaching ur mom I’m a beginner too and I’m always watching u and ur mom keep up the good work I will continue to watch y’all good spirit
Your mom is so cute. I wish I had you close by when I was learning to knit. I know exactly how she feels.. I'm in your BiCrafty Bootcamp and learning to read your stitches and learning to fix mistakes has helped me tremendously. Thank you so very much. Blessings. Stay safe and well.
I am a beginner from Chicago I love this tutorial video . I plan to follow you all the steps in knitting you are teaching . I am a retired nurse . Thanks again
These videos are the best! I am an experienced crocheted but have knitting in about 45 years. These videos have been so very helpful, especially the o se about dropped stitches. Your mom is a %great example so I can learn from her.
Love your videos. Thank you so very much. Getting the knitting knack down. Been crocheting for a few years and have tried learning to knit a few times and just placed it back down....until I discovered your fabulous videos. Thank you...for this journey in knitting to go with crochet.... so excited to start and actually complete my first knit item. Loved your videos. You and your mom 🥰😂😊🥰
I learned to crochet first when I was a teenager. Just started to try to learn to knit a few years ago and it is a real "challenge" to me. These videos are a lifesaver to me. Sometimes I forget how to do something and I can review it with you. Love the way you and your Mom are doing it all from scratch. I can really identify with your mother and learning something new.
I have recently started my own custom crochet business, only to find my possibilities are endless if I learn to knit as well. I learned to crochet when I was young, but being left handed made it difficult for my right handed mom and aunt to teach me when I was young. I got tired of seeing all their beautiful completed gifts, and decided to surprise them last Christmas with my own crochet projects. Needless to say, I loved it so much, I turned my living room into a production area haha! Thanks to your videos, I mastered crochet! Naturally, now that I'm ready to learn to knit to expand my little business, I came right to your channel for the "how-to's" - I am so thrilled to see you teaching your mom! I've learned so much from these videos, I made a purple and white striped ribbed scarf for my niece. My mom was so impressed, she asked me to teach her how to knit! So I get to sit with my mama and teach her too! Thank you, and your mom, for opening up this awesome world to me! My 12 year old son is showing interest in crochet and knitting, and I'm looking forward to teaching him, and my daughters as well! Aside from all that, I have a couple questions: For knitting a light weight, soft sweater, in stockinette, something very A-line and simple in shape, yet not heavy, and very soft, (we live in florida so heavy sweaters aren't necessary) what yarn would you recommend, and what size needles? I don't want very open stitches, but I do want light and soft. My niece has asked me to make her this, and im having trouble picking a yarn and needle size. 2. can you please post a finished project from your mom? or share a link to one? My mom and I are cheering her on together and so excited to see her progress!
I have watched like 16 videos trying to learn to knit. I have crocheted for years. I taught my own mom to crochet, but I couldn't figure out knitting for the life if me. I would became the hulk lolbut I found this video series [just finished ten rows of knit, going to watch the next video now, but was letting these run in the background] I am so excited because for the first time I have a search of something that looks pretty. I need to buy bigger needles though, my only ones are 3.5 and its hard to tell which side is what at the moment lol. I love watchibg you and your mom together. Thabk you for this series
Watching your mom working through the beginner issues with knitting has helped me to realize that my progress (and sometimes not) as a beginner knitter is normal. Thanks Marly!
Mom hang in there . I have learned so much over the last two years on a lot with knitting. I think I’m pretty good when you can watch a Russian knit and speak Russian and you do what they did . I only speak English, also I did a dishcloth in Spanish . I’m slow at knitting that’s one thing I just can’t get fast like I see so many doing . But the finished product to me is what counts . And mom when you learn all this then go to socks . Ole my if I didn’t have a time with that little tiny needles and yarn . So how I got it was I love this cotton from hobby lobby . Yes they say don’t use 100% cotton for socks but guess what they worked . And they wear good . Then I moved down to sock yarn . And I made a infant pair . That was fun . My next challenge will me a sweater, yarn is in the mail .yea
Hi Marly! You are a gem...if I ever start knitting I am following your every tutorial! I don't know if you sell your beautiful creations but if by chance you sell your fair aisle Christmas stocking please let me know. I have dreamed of stockings like the one you make!!
I love watching you two! I have decided to learn to knit and these videos are perfect, but I have been so wrapped up watching you I still need to go get needless and yarn!
Started the 2019 [Knitting] Tournament of Stitches Mystery Make-A-Long today (6 March 2019). Came to your RUclips channel to learn how to carry the yarn up. I'm only a few rows away from giving that a go, but thanks in advance for this video. Regards and thanks to your mom, too. :-) (And yes, I have 'smashed' that Like button.)
I am totally loving these videos. You and your mom make me smile. I am learning a great deal and my confidence is raising. You asked for suggestions on what t teach. I would love to learn how to knit socks with dbl point needles.
+Teresa Alber Thanks! If you click on the video icon towards the end of the video for the Fixing Mistakes Video you can see the video early. It isn't officially released yet so you will get an early viewing :-) (I think you will have to watch the video on your computer to click it)
Hi Marly & Mom ! i live down under in a very small town town called RAGLAN on the West Coast of NEW ZEALAND! I have been knitting about a week, & like your MOM there is a lot of Ripping Out involved. Hahahaha. Summer here is fantastic but winters I need an activity to stop me smoking. So , this is it. I have been doing Ok trying my hand at Ballerina Bloom (so cute) legwarmers. I am up to the 2nd M1l & my yarn seems twisted. I need to learn how to reverse knit Mack 6-10 stitches to fix it. I think I accidentally split the yarn & it has gotten a bit caught up.. Can you help? PS: AB FAB TUTORIALS.... i can watch while knitting. Thanks for all your hard work & welcome to LIL OL NZ!
Hi there!! I feel like this is a silly question but you spoke of weaving the string in when you cut it to change colors, I was wondering if you show in any of your videos how you weave in the yarn?
Where is the video made with your mom in which you were using circular needles and huge yarn to make a blanket throw. I'm returning to my knitting bag after probably a year (consumed with my husband's medical needs) BUT I can't figure out where I am or what stitch to start with. Need the original basic instructions to retrace what I learned to lead me to just where I left off. Can you help me find that video?
Question ~ would you cut or carry when doing socks on dpns? (yes, I'm doing the KAL ;) ) On my next pair I'd like to make it similar to your linen and suede stripe ones. #MarlyBird I've never knit in the round before the knit along and I haven't changed colors on my first pair.
Tell your mother she is far from being old. she has beautiful skin and I love her hair color any chance you guys remember what color that was? After all it was only three years ago 😀😀😅
Hi, ladies! Knitting is good for a person's health. I had taken my knitting with me when I went with my husband for his appointment. She asked what I was knitting. I told her that I was knitting an enterlac scarf. She said knitting is good for the mind.
In the changing colors you had your mom the the new color on the existing color....but you never showed how to remove the knot nor did you show how to weave in the ends....Are you going to do a video showing how that is accomplished or does one already exist.??
Removing a knot is the same concept, you would remove the knot, and make sure you’re at the end of a row and rejoin the yarn. As for weaving in ends, there is a video I did with Anne Berk showing how to do that that you can watch if you’re interested.
I love ur videos ur mom is so sweet and I like how u have patient teaching ur mom I’m a beginner too and I’m always watching u and ur mom keep up the good work I will continue to watch y’all good spirit

I’m loving these lessons. Thanks to both of you beautiful ladies for making the easy and fun.

do you have a video teaching how to do stranded? please and ty, much appreciated. I always end up with floats on the right side grrrrrr
Hi there!! I feel like this is a silly question but you spoke of weaving the string in when you cut it to change colors, I was wondering if you show in any of your videos how you weave in the yarn?
I do like you both! Very entertaining! How did you learn to knit Marly?
would you use this method to continue with the same color when the first roll gets close to ending?
Yes :)
Where is the video made with your mom in which you were using circular needles and huge yarn to make a blanket throw. I cut the yarn because I didn’t want floats :)
Do you also do Continental knitting? I'm a crocheter and it's not really that I knit all that well but I do prefer Continental to English.
I am a continental knitter but don't have "classes" like the ones I did with my mom here on youtube for continental. I only have stand alone videos.
Will be watching gymnastics, Marly and Robyn during the Summer (BiCrafty) Games
I noticed that your Mom's yarn was twisting how do you avoid this.
Tell your mother she is far from being old. she has beautiful skin and I love her hair color any chance you guys remember what color that was? After all it was only three years ago 😀😀😅
I will ask her

Increase and decrease in knitting next please you lovely ladies!,

@@MarlyBird this is just excellent for me and what I am looking for in my knitting.
