    Norman, you are a wonderful role mottle for knitters and knitters to be. I have a saying I introduce new knitters to whether or not I’m teaching them or we are just knitting together. It has become my one rule when anyone is learning something new. “Don’t say anything about yourself that you wouldn’t say about your best friend.” It is amazing how that little rule changes the atmosphere of learning something new. You reminded me of that when you make comments about how long it took you to learn a knitting technique or if you felt a little difference between the pattern and your knitting. Somethings are worth the time and energy to get the knitting perfect and others you don’t worry about. I foster bottle baby puppies. I sometimes have time to make a puppy a sweater. That puppy isn’t going to notice a jig in a stripe. All they care about is being warm, well feed and as close to me as possible.
    Keep being you. I always learn something beneficial and you make me happy to be a knitter.

    You have the best knitter’s techniques resource I’ve found on RUclips. Thank you Norman; you’re an excellent teacher doing beautifully produced instruction videos!
    Can anyone recommend a good resource regarding flat knitting of stripes. I’m knitting a child’s striped sweater in 4 colours, but I don’t know what to do on the edges where the yarn has to travel up the side for many rows.

    • @NimbleNeedles
      @NimbleNeedles  2 года назад +2

      i m planning to do a video on that..but don't know when yet.
      If it's seamed, you can just hide the floats in the seam and you don't really need a special technique. If it isn't and the stripes are not too big, you can catch the non-active colors every second row. If the stripes are bigger, I would cut the yarn and weave in. childrens sweaters wille xperience quiet a lot of wear and tear plus end up in the washing machine often.
