59 yrs old and finally understand how to tread water and to stay relaxed! I can almost sleep on my back while floating but couldn’t tread for any length of time, crazy I know. You explained this perfectly! You are a God send! Thank you 💖
That's incredible progress! I'm so thrilled to hear that the video helped you master treading water and find relaxation in the process. It's never too late to learn and improve, and I'm honored to be a part of your swimming journey. Keep up the fantastic work, and if there's anything else you'd like to learn or discuss, feel free to reach out. Happy swimming! 😎🙏 -Coach Mandy
Which of the three method worked for you?
This is EXACTLY what I needed all these years. Thank you!!
Thank you for your support! 🙌🏊♂️🙏
I am new to swimming, started just about a month ago and after watching this video and of course lots of practice I am now able to tread water. Yayy!!!
I find the 3rd demo - sculling with high knees easy, it even gets a lot easier when I relax my head backwards and I am able to switch to a backstroke from that position.
I am a lot water confident, all thanks to you.
Also another treading style is the cycling motion of your legs with the sculling. I mostly do this. But I am gradually moving towards the egg beater, because it will be more energy efficient.
Very useful, I'll put in practice. Thanks 👍
I was trying to thread for over 3 weeks now but wasnt able to do it and today came across this video.
Watched just before going the swim class and practise it and it really worked
Thank you mam.. This is what I need to practice my leg and arms... Good advice coach..

Looking forward to updating you when putting these to practice 💪
Thank you so much coach! I really appreciate it and will practice to be better👊
We're gonna try the eggbeater kick on the shallow pool. I'm taking a swimming lesson but I'm super scared just seeing the deep pool 😂 It's very helpful to know that buoyancy is the same whether it was in a shallow pool or deep pool.
Thank you Coach Monday. Another useful video for beginners like me. I will try these techniques.
Super! Thanks for the tut. God bless you
finally ! Something which requiers less energy and easy, Thanks a lot
Thanks I learn alot from you 😻
I'm a hands on kind of person, otherwise it comes & goes; but u showed a great vid.along with the explanations; I can absolutely see my self in the water and managing to stay afloat. Thank you so much !!!
Thanks a lot. It was crisp and clear.
You make it look super easy. :)

Nice breathstroke Mandy it looks really cool and really great moves even egg beater and sculling so amazing swimmer ma'am
Sculling with high knees I was looking for this technique! Thanks
This is the best video on treading in deep water, I've found on RUclips so far, and I've watched many. Thank you.
i agree 100%,,, i cant count the treading videos i have watched,,, this is super
Very nice video👍🏾
Watching this 6:25 am; 5 mins before leaving to hit the pool. I am gonna try all of this today.
Thank you for your advices always useful!
Thank you.
Your video is very very useful. I'm happy I can sculling for my first try. Trust me, it is not that hard.
Very helpful video. Thanks!
Enjoy your practice Joha 😎🙏🏼
Wow, the high knee method is so effortless when u do it!
Thanks buddy 🤝😊
I will try the sculling technique ,it looks simple
Thanks dear
Excellent Excellent!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you
Thanks a lot for you..
Thank you very much...... :-)
When I learned to tread water, 60 or so years ago, it was taught with the flutter kick. Never could do the old style frog kick, or the newer whip kick, my feet just don't move that way...
I’m on the same boat I can do it with my hands but just using legs I can’t I’m too tall and I have a test next week
Thanks ❤️👍❤️
Greeeeat,thanks
Amazing
💞💞💞💞💞
Thanks to the info now i know why its so hard to stay long when your using technique 1
Thanks
this is exactly what i am looking for ! thanks you for what you shared on breaststroke i can be able to swim that style
Wow awesome 👌👌👌
🙌✅💯🙏
thanks
I'd try to master this in a shallow pulll... Coaches has placed too much emphasis on practicing trading in deep water, probably that's why I'm not getting it yet
I got the sitting position and bouyancy part but I can't can't thread relaxed pass 3 seconds lol
Once I practice and practice in shallow water then I can translate it to deep pool
Thanks
The high knees and sculling seems to be the easiest and can hold for longer
Exelente demostración.para flotar.
¡gracias! 🙌🏼🙏🏼 -Coach Mandy
I wish you could help me out I’m struggling with treading water me personally I like the egg beater best but I still struggle to keep my head above water sigh hope I learn one day
I know hot to swim but i didnt now how to tread verticaly heheh
Me too sigh!
You gotta keep on practicing it gets easy after a week
I find I bairly need to tread if I breath while keeping my lungs mostly full
Try doing the modified breaststroke kick and the progress doing it one by one relax your shoulders...
She floats like a mermaid
I like the egg beater. Must practice that one. Normally i use the last one which you can transition to a longer version on your back for chasing your kids around a shallow pool .
The one I always wanted to learn is this atleast
Parabéns...😊
i love her, so i subscribed
Thank you! 🙏🏼😎
Brilliant
🙏🏼🙌🏼 Thank you for the support Margaret. Enjoy your practice and Happy New Year! 🏊🏻♀️🎉 Best, Coach Mandy
I swim 😆 but i never learned how to treading on water. I will try this . I am 31.
For the third method, can you still breathe normally or you have to hold your breath?
One thing I never see mentioned is egg beater is really hard on your knees because of the circular motion, if you have knee issues maybe avoid also hard on the groin!
Trying to do the breast stroke kick in pools that are 4'-6" or 5' and constantly have issues. My arms always give out before my 2 limit test requirement and although it may be mental, I just can't get it to work...
Which style is best for the beginners
Hi-which is the best style for bigners?
Thx for this. It seems really interesting and I'm definitely going to try it. My concern is that, as my understanding is that women are more buoyant, - - and flexible - then men, will this work for men?
Wow your awesome....
Excellent video! Thanks for the great lesson
Awesome Jaskaran, enjoy your practice and thank you for you support! -Coach Mandy
mandy, an underwater camera would be a Big help to visualize the strokes.
love ur voice
Hi
I try with high knees with sculling but always sink can’t hold head up the water
I tried this today. So excited.
But I only was able to do "BREASTSTROKE KICK" successfully. Also tried "EGG BEATER" & "SCULLING" but FAILED
the last technique is not clear to me at which level the arms should be places? align at the hip?
Hi, first of all thank you for sharing, and my questions is ...What do you think is the safest/appropriate/more convenient style for to use in open water?
Hi Luciano - great question! If you are wearing a full wetsuit, there is not much need to tread other than lightly sculling (as show in this video) because your buoyancy is pretty stable and keeps you level on the surface. However, if you are wearing no wetsuit, a light/relaxed egg beater is the most efficient to keep you stable without burning too much O2. The key is to stay very relaxed when in open water to shut of the fight or flight response. 🙌✅ -Coach Mandy
@@SWIMVICE Hi Mandy ... Thank you very much for your quick and precise response, especially when do you say in open water staying relaxed. Again, thank you so much Mandy
this is egg beater style is the technique water polo players are using to stay afloat, correct? The one that develops their legs?
Trying the third method but for some reason not working. Not sure if I am doing something wrong.
Please dear I can I do this because anytime I do it I go down the water, what is the problem
hey, should i hold my breath while diving
how do i practice this on dry land ?
A quote from your website
"Treading water is not just about mastering physical techniques; it’s a delicate dance of coordination, buoyancy, and most importantly, relaxation."
Slow down, and relax, all that has to be out of the water is your mouth.
Do you breathe freely while doing it or do you take like, deep breaths?
In egg beater, does the legs make circular pattern parallel to the ground or perpendicular to the ground?
Great question - the circular pattern would be parallel to the ground. ✅ -Coach Mandy
I am 39 yo now but I don’t know how to swim and floating I hope you can help me with this
I’ve come to realize I do the third style so easily, but once I try to add some leg movements in the mix, I start to sink! I can’t wait till I’m a better swimmer!
You'll get there! Keep practicing 🙌😎 Best, Coach Mandy
if you're gonna use leg movements, make sure you are kicking SIDEWAYS and not kick straight down. Being upright and kicking straight down makes you sink.
Yes! Learned that lesson!!
How deep should the water be in order to practice treading? Thank you
lol obviously u should be at a depth where u won't die if u can't catch the side of the pool. Jokes aside, the depth where water is at ur neck while your foot touches the floor in tiptoe position. And stay close to side of pool. If ur fully out of breath and start sinking ,don't panic and go down and push the floor and burst out like a fkin dolphin and breathe as much as possible. Happy drowning !!!
👍👍👍
That high knee one is cool!
🙌😄
@unclejamesx does it actually works
@@SWIMVICE does it actually works?
I have been trying to do the egg beater for years. Can not dang do it without also sculling. I don’t know if I am not flexible enough or what? My left leg wants to do it but my right leg will not give enough pressure and I sink.
Haturnuhun means thank you .
My thighs getting pain if I do vertical kick. I do breast stroke while swimming but while treading makes me difficult
Hey, quick question, Should i hold my breath while doing this ?
yes
No. You just breath normal.
beautiful voice
Do I need to hold my breath or can I breathe normally
Thank you very much I enjoy your class but I cant do the egg .... it's very difficult for me I have 57 years old and I m from Algeria
Egg beater is the most advanced skill for treading water. I would prioritize relaxation and floating first. The breaststroke kick skill is easier to achieve until you get your balance right. Remember, relaxation is key! Enjoy your practice Assia! -Coach Mandy
How deep is the water I have a test next week and this is one of the exams but with hands under the armpit
Yes, this pool is between 3 to 5 feet.
Me that i know how to swim like freestyle or butterfly or what kind of style i know but i dont know how to float like water treading lmao i hate myself lacking with that
