One of the best pop songs ever. I love seeing Brian and Mike interact as if they like each other. I know they've had their ups and downs, but I just love every member of this band: Brian, Mike, Carl, Al, Dennis, Bruce.
@@mumbles215 Uhm...It sounds like a bit of personal to me. I mean, yeah, it's not like Love fucked Wilson's wife of whatever, it was a business issue, but still, a bit of personal.
I noticed at the very start, before the vocals kick in, Brian is zoning out. Carl notices and starts gesturing toward him to move to the mic. Mike is also keeping an eye on Brian and so is Al, who also begins motioning to him to turn toward his mic...and he does at the last second and begins singing right on cue.
Yes, and I am not positive on this, but it sounds like the lead vocal is almost double tracked when Brian is singing the opening verses, and I notice Al is about three or four inches from his mic singing along with Brian and constantly watching Brian, just in case he needs to step in and cover the lead vocal if Brian goes south. So I think the double tracked sound is Al being close to his mic, but not on it.
Hands down the best performance they ever did of this song. It's rare to hear Brian sing in falsetto after the mid--70s, but he was in the best physical shape of his life here despite being under control of Landy.
