Thanks for the demonstration. A bit of advice, if you haven't already done it, now is the time to throw on some soil and overseed. And you should mow your lawn to a height of 3 inches. I noticed that your lawn was very short. That's why weeds can take over.
Nothing smells better than a killex label. I know that sounds really weird but go ahead peel the label back and have a sniff; it smells like the old Skeletor action figure from the 80s. Really brings me back.
Thanks for that. I do not want to use an herbicide but I just can't get the dandelions under control in my garden so I will try this. There is an organic weed and feed in the US, but it's not available here, but it has to be used before the weeds come up in the spring and I just wasn't onto things that fast! And glad you told about water pressure as I have already spent enough trying to get this yard in better shape! Thanks!
Best review ever, exactly what i needed, same lawn condition i am dealing with right now, thinking to do that but was kinda skeptical but now i can use it coz of you thanks
Thank you for making this video. I'm so excited to have a weed free lawn ! I sprayed yesterday but its expected to rain tonight. I hope it still kills them. If not I will re apply in a couple weeks
Thanks. Just sprayed and hope I get equally good results. Coverage is totally inaccurate. My lawn is about 4,000 sq ft in total and I ran out of Killex after probably 3,000 sq. ft. And I turned down the water pressure but it didnt help much - bottle depletes way too quickly Not even close to advertised 8800 sq. ft!
Ya, but you added way to much product per square foot...... You need to hussle. You could easily get 5000 sq feet, but then you would risk not getting enough product down per square foot. You need to do a test. I rather buy a sprayer and concentrate. 6ml of killex per liter of water, does 50 square feet. Mark off 50 square feet of grass and weeds, and spray down that section till you run out. Now, remember how wet the grass got, and start making big batches. Start spraying all you grass, focasing a tad more on the spots with heavier weed patches. Just remember how wet your lawn was during the test or remember how much time was spent on a certain test section.
Nothing works like killex the 24d in it is the key ingredient. Killex has been my go to for years I rarely have to use it these days as I keep my lawn so thick weeds don't really have a chance. The hose broadcast method is the most efficient weed remedy I've encountered. Just be prepared for your grass to stink for about a week
I’m not an expert on lawn care but what works for me is spraying weeds in my mulch bed with round up at the beginning of spring or whenever the weeds are actively growing. Just be very careful with using round up as even a little over spray will kill your desirable plants (I learned this the hard way)
Do not water for about 2 to 3 days after applying this stuff. Its ok to water after that. Keep in mind that you don't want to use this stuff during a drought when your lawn is going through summer stress.
I have had poor results with weed b gone, and that was with multiple applications. I'm only 3 day in, and I have to say this stuff is WAY more effective!
I have a lawn covered in weeds. I tried out Weed B Gon at first and it worked great, but the major downside is that the product does not go very far. An entire litre of concentrate is matched with 8 litres of water, and that is not very much at all if you need to treat an entire lawn. With Killex the ratio is more like 50 mL of concentrate per 8 litres of water, so the product goes way farther than Weed B Gon. The downside is that Killex is prohibited in a lot of areas in Canada.
Killex has 2,4,D compound in it which you need to kill some types of weeds I had in my case. Weed be gone does not. So far killex has been working better for me. Depends what is required research will tell you. I believe killex is only one with 2,4,D compound in Canada available
I was excited hearing about this weed killer from my sister, but then read up on it, and you even sort of mentioned it -- it's banned in the majority of Canada's provinces. "It is now illegal to sell or use weed killer because the 2,4-D chemical exposure can cause long-term health problems for children and pregnant women, according to the Ontario College of Family Physicians and the Canadian Cancer Society." Not cool and not worth it. This doesn't even mention what the chemical does to worms, which birds then eat, etc. I have magpies in my yard constantly scooping out big worms out of the soil. And unlike what the corporation that makes Killex, Dow AgroSciences LLC, claim the product is safe, "provided that the instructions on their label are followed." You can't tell worms and birds to follow the directions.
@@BO_Riddle Yeah, but that's where if it's harming animals, kids, etc, it's no longer "personal choice" or libertarianism like you want it to be. If it effects other people, it falls into the governments hands to decide. Sorry about that.

Getting a honest review is very helpful. You highlighted both the positive and the negative. That way, I know what to expect. Thank you very much!

It really has a funky smell !

Mow first! Cuts the weed leaves and lets the killex work better faster. Still good to know it works without!

I agree. I shop where I get truth in advertising.

Its 30 plusntax now and it worked amazing for me worth every penny weeds were dying thennext day
Mine didn't leak at all. I certainly didn't get the coverage they advertise, but next time I'll turn down the water flow.
I used this again this year on my front yard and it didn’t leak at all. The one from last year must’ve just been a bad bottle
Would you use around the edge of your yard? I have wood chips around the edge but weeds still coming through. And in spraying in the summer a problem?

Great videos 👍👍👍
How does it look now?
Did you use 1 bottle only?
And the bottle says it covers 800 sqf or 8000?
Great vid
Where did you buy it at 25 CAD? Could you share the link if it was from online?
Bought it from Canadian Tire. I don’t think it’s available online in Canada as it’s banned in some provinces
Lawnsuppliments.ca. it's not cheap but worth it
@@TheCarDetailingChannelin what province are you located?
Came for the weed killer, stayed for the car detailing. 😂
LOL Thanks Victor! My 3 hobbies are bbq , lawn care, and detailing. Had to pick one for RUclips haha
@@TheCarDetailingChannel Points for honesty!
Can this be used around mature trees?
Hi, how has it been holding up? Did the weeds come back?
Thanks for this review! Just sprayed my yard down yesterday. Did you water the grass at all after spraying within the three weeks?

@@onkardhillon91 Apply some fertilizer this fall so your grass can naturally thicken up and repel weeds.
@@TheCarDetailingChannel How soon did you mow after this?
@@TheCarDetailingChannel what fertilizer do u suggest? Any particular brand??
Can you refill those???
When do you use this product; as pre-emergency in spring or after the weeds have grown mid-summer ?
Post emergent while the weeds are actively growing in the spring.
Weeds must be growing
Good video, how often could I use killex and how long before the next treatment.
I would only use this once a year in the spring
It says twice per year max, plus spot treatments as needed.
Can this kill nut sedge?
Before 3:04 after 11:04 seems to work but why does the after have dead grass patches?
It didn't rain for 3 weeks
Cool. Im hoping this works here in BC because as far as i can tell weve banned all the good shit and this is the last remaining working product.
Also fun fact i learned is the active ingredient in killex was one of the two active ingredients in agent orange. Thats pretty metal.
How does this compare vs weed b gone?

I never thought of that part of it
then DON'T use it if you dont like it. You are making some wild assumptions w/o any evidence.
