      Shout out from NY, wink wink!! So my coworker had to make a stop in Pennsylvania over the weekend and I asked him if he could stop at the local Home Depot and pick me up multiple bottles of the orange top Weed Stop lol. Sorry to hear about your dog, they are family for sure.

    I am in full agreement with your comment about the fact that these weed killers DON'T show results in 1-2 days! I also agree that these products may need a second dose on the weeds to knock them out. I have had the same experience. Thanks for sharing!

    Sorry for the loss... I don't have any pets myself, but I do remember when my best friend's dog past. I was pretty shook up for months from the fact that he would no longer be there to greet me at the door when I visited.

    Just want to say thanks again for the Spectracide Weed Stop product. I saw this in a previous video that you made, gave it a shot, and over 8 days the weeds along my fence wilted like nobody's business.

      @@LawnAmateur Thanks for the guidance! I went out to Menards a few days ago and bought 6 bottles of the Bioadvanced All-in-One Concentrate weed killer, but it's not really doing much. Used 2 bottles. I'm going right now to return the 4 unused bottles and buying the Spectracide instead.
      They don't have this bag of granules in your video. How do you feel about Bioadvanced Weed & Feed? Does it work the same?

    In Florida with St Augustine grass, we use the purple top spectracide herbicide. We cant use the yellow top.

    Thanks for the tips on using pre-emergent in the Fall. I always see the Bermudagrass guys doing it, but never used it in the Fall on my fescue.

    Just subscribed to your channel, sorry about the fur babies. We had 3 and miss them every day. We lost our first Juniper when we got pregnant with our son, lost our 2nd (Ulysses my shadow) 3 months after my son was born, then Gatsby this past October.     Sorry for your loss. I have never used pre-emergent in the fall and now have been getting what I think is poa annua in my lawn. I guess I will be putting down some pre-emergent this weekend! Thanks again for your channel, I learn a lot here.

    Based on your recommendation, I used the orange top spectracide this summer on my back yard and it did an awesome job. I had been lax in keeping up my backyard so the weeds had gotten a little out of control. Used two applications and used the dish soap like you said. Was very surprised at the results especially for only ten bucks. Thanks!

      Baby Soap or Baby Wash --- Not Dish Soap -- it has Antibacterial & other chemicals
      that ruin the soil thus the grass.

    I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my dog in the year 2017 and I was heartbroken.He was a rat terrier and lived until he was 18 years old. They are family and bring so much happiness into our lives.     Bro I've been there and it definitely isn't something you could ever imagine until it happens. You learn the hard way that they are NOT just dogs!!! Peace and blessing to you... Rest Easy to your best friend!!! BTW I screwed up on the lawn this year. It looks ok just not what I want. Hopefully I can recoup a little the remaining of this year and hit it hard next year.

    Hi. So sorry for your loss! We went through the same thing with our Rotty when my kids were younger. She had cancer and the vet guilt tripped us saying if we cared about her we’d put her through surgery when in reality it was worse for her. Her cancer spread and she was in pain so we had to put her down. It was so heart breaking and the worst feeling ever! RIP to your fur baby! 🙏🥲

    I'm so sorry about your baby. I just lost my fur baby on Feb. 3. He was 11 years old. I also had him since he was a baby, and he was strong until the last day. That same morning, everything was totally fine, he ate breakfast, went to my room, he was playing and in a blind of an aye he just felt down and that was all. I couldn't do anything, his heart fail him. He was a loyal soul, always after us. He was love for all, he was our gentle giant. Always is going to be in our hearts.

      Thank you. They are definitely our babies and the time with them go by so fast. The only thing we can do is provide them with the best possible life as we possibly can. They show us unconditional love at all times no matter the ups or downs. Like you said they are loyal sweet souls. And will be forever missed.     Well it's another year I like those products too last fall I put my winterize down waiting for the forsythia's to turn yellow in jersey thats my starting point I'll be using the same product ground is saturated after a week of rain

      Its almost time to start once those forsythia's bloom its time to get rolling. We definitely got hammered with rain over these last few weeks but thats good because its helping to jump start the lawn. Mine is turning green already

    Im in Houston and I can not find the orange handle Spectracide here, not Home Depot or Walmart....I will look at Ace Hardware & Lowe's next, after that if I'm still unsuccessful I need to find something else. This Dallis grass is the problem after using the Yellow Handle Spectracide.

    When you apply the granules Spectracide did you wait the 48 to 72 hours before applying the Spectracide yellow top hose end?

      No. You only wait when you're trying to use the granules as a post emergent weed killer

    I've been watching your videos, thank you!! I have Bermuda grass, and its coming out of dormancy but only about 25% green. The weeds are thriving - can I use this on the new grass growing in or should I wait till my grass is green fully?

      If the lawn is newly seeded no don't use this but if the lawn is just coming out of dormancy then yes you can spray the weeds.

    What fertilizer do you use in the fall/to winterize your lawn? Is it okay to use that Sta Green 2n1 fertilizer, with humid acid and kelp as a winterizing fertilizer, or do I need a different fertilizer?

      Yes the sta green 2n1 is a good fertilizer to use I'm actually going to release a video explaining what I'm using soon. But the sta green is a good choice

    If I have a lot of weeds, should I use them in the same order? I have seen that some people recommend watering first, as spraying everything you do with the water hose could be done in the opposite order. I would greatly appreciate your advice, thank you.

      You can put down weed and feed only if you're not planning to overseed your lawn. But if you are only dethatching your lawn then yes applying weed and feed is ok.

    How long can you spray before the product is used up at normal water pressure? How can you tell when the product isdone?

      On the side of the bottle there's an indicator that you can look at to see how much product is left in the bottle. This product will cover about 5000sq feet

      Thank you. I put dawn dish washing soap (non antibacterial). It's a surfactant. It helps the weed killer stick on the weeds better. You could use dish washing soap, baby shampoo like (Johnson and Johnson) or buy a dedicated surfactant it all works the same. I hope this helps

    Depending on the weed it might work in a few days, it slows down Crab grass and poa, doing the summer I sprayed every week.

      If you just laid seed down you have to wait 45 days or until you get atleast 3 mows on the new grass before applying these products

    Can you use the granular weed stop bag in this video around September/October when I aerate and overseed my lawn. Will the granular weed stop inhibit grass seed from sprouting? Thanks

      @narmislien no you can't use this during overseed. This will stop your seeds from germinating. Wait until after the grass has been mowed 3 times before applying this

    Question: What if I am applying Weed Stop granule version in summer? My lawn isn't dewy during the morning. Also, if I am applying the granule version, do I need to water my grass after applying?
    I am using Scotts Wizz Spreader. What setting should set in my spreader? I have 5500 sq ft. (backyard, front yard and side yard ). My lawn has lot of brown patches and it's still recovering. I applied Disease Ex few days ago to treat my lawn. Would like to know if I can apply Weed Stop granule version.

      Thank you for your support. If you want to use it as a weed killer, it needs to be applied to a wet lawn but if you want to use it as a pre emergent water it in after to spread it down. You can use this any time of the season. I would try setting 4 to 4 1/2 on the scott Wizz spreader. I hope this information helped.

    In my front yard, I have several plants. There is old mulch there now to but there is alot of weeds. Can i use the spray to kill the weeds? Will the spray kill the plants? Also can I use the other stuff after I use the spray?

      This can possibly kill the plants so spraying the weeds around the plants you have to be careful. Yes you can use the granular after the spray that'll help kill the weeds from germinating again

    I have used the orange top a few times and think it does a good job, but I have found it does very little to the clover in my yard. It turns color a little but doesn't disappear like other weeds eventually do after they die. Have you had clover to deal with and had any luck using the orange top?

      @@LawnAmateur I typically add a little. A few days ago I used Spectracide in a pump spray bottle and also added some Speed Zone. Waiting to see if I get any results. Speed Zone instructions say not to use a surfactant so I didn't. We shall see. Getting a little chilly in Northeast PA these days. If weeds are dormant, will weed killer actually do anything?
