nice and simple. thanks for the reply. if i recall you do alot of small refrigeration case repairs. i work on systems upto 5tons residential. this system really helps when trying to pull down a system that has traces of freon on a repair.
Great set up! Looks expensive. What's the total for that? I do it the same way I've always done it. Usually I do all my brazing, flush, pressure test and start vacuum pump. Then in the meantime I go finish my install. If you look at my RUclips videos you'll see I pull some pretty deep vacuums.
I have the same setup, only I use a yellow jacket evacuation manifold instead of the tee you have. Great setup they are really worth the money when you see a system evacuate in 5 or 10 minutes. What vacuum pump do you use? I bought the jB platinum7cfm dual stage pump
i had that pump on order last year. and then it never showed up so i grabbed a cheap pump at the supply house which works just fine and is only 3 cfm. i could pull under 500 microns in about 2 min or less and down to 150 micrpns under 4min on a 3ton system with 30ft lineset. the jb platnum has a check valve to protect in the event the pump loses power and your on lunch break lol
This is a pretty good kit :) I think it is overpriced, but that's just my opinion. Probably I will get it someday. Usually when I am pulling a vacuum I am doing the electrical or moving stuff back to the van or doing something else. Anyway, good tools are good tools, no question about it.
I have one 3/8" X 1/4" hose one micron gauge, one appion core tool and a vacuum pump.

Nice set up! How are you liking the Appion kit?
I like that idea with the Testo case , I may have to copy that
Eric M was the originator.
PHC Apprentice ok I'll copy Eric lol
Nice kit. What size is that brass tee on the short hose. Looks like Half inch on the short hose and 3/8 on the ends?

its basically the truetechtools rapid evac kit.
I need to get some decent hoses for vacuuming, still using standard manifold...
i read up that while they dont leak under pressure, they pull air through the hose on a vacuum. thats why i only use vacuum rated hoses.
I hadn't thought of that, it was the flow rate i was more concerned with but that adds to the need for a better set up in my case :-)

time is money. you can always run the pump longer if your trying to push the clock lol
Send you a pm. Hope to hear from you soon! :)
