*Sorry, but this was not released in 1998. It was released in 1999, because Tuomas Holopainen was asked by their record label "Drakkar Records" in Spring 1999 to write a ballad for the total eclipse of the sun which occured on 11th August 1999. But as others have mentioned, she didn't want to have a full operatic sound for the Nightwish music, so she had to figure out how to find that balance. The colour of her voice is so stunning here, though :)

This one touches my heart everytime, i am Nightwish fan from 2000. Tarja Turunen was pioneer in heavy metal opera ❤ The band now have perfect production and special effects in studio and onstage equipment. Not to compare 25years in building proffesionalism as musicians. ❤
The truth is that there are many "Tarja versions" for this same song. This is the first official video. Then there is the other official video where she sings in a different way (there is a fight on a battlefield), there is another version in the show end of an era. There is another version on her album: metal church. and many others. but between this official video (more lyrical) and the other official video (more contemporary) the difference is noticeable in the way Tarja herself sings.
The one song that made me stuck with Nightwish forever. What a song. The first era gave many bangers. Queen Tarja is so incredible. A diva! A banger song composed from Tuomas Holopainen cause of a rare solar eclipse . ❤❤❤. And we don't forget there was the first team performing that song. Marco in Bass Guitar, Empuu Vuorinen in lead guitar , Jukka Nevalainen on drums and Tuomas Holopainen in keyboards. A song released in 1998 ...go Nightwish!
Tarja was very young when she recorded this and in the beginning of her vocal studies, so that’s probably something that should be noted. But I absolutely understand your opinion. You really should hear more recent version of this with Tarja, maybe live version from the metal church in 2016 or the very different version from 2021 with Steven Seagulls? 😊 that's over twenty years after this music video was released so yes, her voice has changed a lot and gotten even better. But already the 2005 version of this song is very different vocally. Tarja didn’t like her vocals on this original track so she rerecorded them for the 2005 version. Thank you for this reaction!
Tarja does have a classical background but she is not an Opera singer, so there is no point in expecting her to sound like one, especially not when singing metal. Even though Tarja is using a classical approach she wasn't really trying to sound 'operatic' or classical, she was actually trying to take a step aside from the classical technique and sound a little more contemporary, she was always experimenting and adapting her technique, by the time she was still trying to find her voice and to have a more 'frontal placement' cause, as she used to say in interviews, she didn't want to sound like she had a potato in her mouth. She never formaly had contemporary singing lessons tho, and she only felt satisfied with her 'contemporary' technique in 2004, when she recorded the album 'Once'. Today her technique when singing metal is even more adapted, it still has that classical sound, but with her own experimental adjustments. Still, she kept developing her classical technique over the years, she studied german lied singing, to be more specific, and graduated in 2004 at the German music university Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. She still have a vocal coach today. She have sang a few classical concerts over the years where she actually uses 100% of her classical training and sounds completely different to what she sounds like when singing metal. Noche Escandinava from 2018 and Beauty and the Beat concert have some of my favorite performances like 'Song To The Moon', 'Sav Sav Susa Sibelius' or 'Den Forsta Kyseen Sibelius', but of course I don't expect her to be at the same level of actual opera singers that sing these songs for a life, cause Tarja only does that casually, that is not the career she choose.
Very well said! This is something that bothers me all the time regarding reactions to Tarja. On the other hand it bothers me as well that people that say she is a one trick poney because they do nor realize the effort she put to be able to sing metal fast paced lyrics adapting her classic technics to do so. At least until Nightwish appeared you had some classical singing here and there in songs in Therion, Haggard, but not as fronting the bands and not with fast paced lyrics and to ky knowledge, there are not many to rhis day doing this, it is always one thing or the other. I love what she has achieved and overcome not matter what.
@@RitaFMachado Exactly, and I actually think she have shown a lot of constrasting vocals when she want to. She is known for her strong, heavy and dark tone but she can still sound quite light and angelical like she have shown in 'Pie Jesu' live from 2017, but have also delivered very strong and darker vocals in the same song in earlier years and more recently. She can deliver her strongest vocals and showcase deep lows when singing Opera, as she did in 'Den Forsta Kyseen Sibelius' in her 2018's Noche Escandinava concert. She even risked some coloratura arias already, even though it's quite hard for her heavy voice. In metal she have shown the ability to use the belting technique, hitting multiple E5s surprisingly well in 'Slaying the Dreamer' live, a sustained E5 in 'Nymphomaniac Fantasia', not to mention the exquisite chest vocals in 'The Siren', I only wish she would do that more often. I think a perfect showcase of her current 'metal technique' would be her cover of Muse's 'Supremacy', where she showcases a strong, rich and deep lower range in her chest voice, her mixed voice, and her powerful head voice, wich still has that sorta classical sound, but still very different from her Classical/Opera performances. Do I need to mention that she have sang in more than 5 languages? She might not be a 'Jack of all trades' like Floor is, and I don't think it has ever been her goal anyway, but she have that unique quality in her voice that I cannot explain, and to say she isn't versatile is a lie.
At one of the recent Nightwish shows, while Floor was doing this song, toward the end at the line “sleeping weeping" Floor broke and couldn't stop crying on stage and bearly finished the song, but she did and it was beautiful.
I saw the video from last November and was shocked to see Floor like that. I'm absolutely sure that everyone in the audience would have loved to give Floor a comforting hug.
I think that was when she found out she had cancer. Can't imagine having to do be commandeering shows like she does when you are waiting on news of your mortality. She is a true warrior.
I still think that performance of that song is the best ever. Floor really lets her true feelings that she’s actually feeling come out and that raw emotion makes her voice sound so beautiful. She always sing with such emotion, but this is way mote intense than ever before.

When they shot this video Tarja was bitten by mosquitos so badly that she had to go to medical care. One can see them whirling around. Just amazing metal ballad - a legend I could say. Tuomas did the writing yes - when pretty young as they all were back then.
Greetings from Helsinki, Finland. Thx for a very good reaction video. I've been seen Nightwish live about 15 times and my first Nightwish gig was 2001. So i see also Tarja at live. 🙂
Making this video was absolute misery for Tarja. It looks very idyllic, but she (and the entire crew) was getting eaten alive by mosquitos the whole time. And she had her arms and chest bare as well.
Hello. I will be polite and just confirm a few points. What others said about her being young. That she left university to write and tour with the band and did not complete her training in German Lied not Opera until circa 2002. She got better and in the 27 years of her total career to date she never stopped. She still has a vocal coach. She has tackled arias and classical music with live orchestras and choirs see 2014's The Beauty and the Beat for example. She has 9 albums solo and a vast body of work. 3 christmas albums. 1st her solo debut written while still with NW in Finnish (06), then 2 Dark Christmas albums, From Spirits and Ghotsts: A score for a Dark Christmas (16) and her 3rd album this year, Dark Christmas (23) songs chosen by her daughter Naomi (11 sings/piano, loves drums) and her classmates. Tarja chose 12 off of that list. There was Rockin Heels live in Metal Church Wacken (2016) where she did accoustic covers of her favourite 90s metal. Her, her band's paino player and cello player ( they tour with her), and a lady as guest violinist . filmed live the night before the festival. Tickets by invite to under 200 people. And her electronic music album with world class guitarists. Produced with EDM famed Torsten Sterzel of Germany. Filmed on Antugia released over the summer. 10 years in the making. Written an auto biography. Been judge and winning coach The Senior Voice Finland. Live dvds, festivals, toured Europe, South America ( try Act 1 2012 to see how much Argentina loves her. 😊, and last year Best of Living the dream. Her 1st grearest hits album. 2 discs. 1st fan favourite choices. 2nd her favoutites. She even reunited with Marko to sing Phantom of the Opera, once in Switzerland. Once in Finland. They will tour together in the new year in South America. Dates already announced. They love eachother still like friends should. They had made up back in 2017 at a Finnish tv christmas concert. I politely invite you to explore her career. Far surpassed the limits imposed upon her by being part of an ensemble. Structural ones I am willing to leave it at that to avoid drama that has been settled. One fact you should know Floor and Tarja are still good friends after 20 years. In fact Tarja was Floor's idol when she was a teen and Sleeping Sun was her favourite NW song. That is straight from Floor herself. Nightwish, Floor and Tarja have had decades of growth. There sounds have matured. I think Tuomas finally has the folk sound he wanted when he started. Floor has put out her first solo work. Marko is solo. Tarja was simply 1st. And had she had her wish for an amicable split, I think she would have started in 2008. All to say there is much to see and hear before judging or labeling anyone, anything without more information. It will save emberassment or having to correct ourselves later. I speak in general life advice. I would say read the wikii on her to see deatails. You can follow e. a.r. music here for official content and her IG and FB to stay up to date. December is her annual eastern Europe Christmas concert tour. ❤
Stunning song. And love the comparison to "Alegria", a song I was introduced to on this channel- and has become a personal favorite. Always great to hear the different Nightwish eras. Tarja sounds great, in my opinion. Still waiting for this one to be on "the list".
There is about 0% chance Tuomas wasn't aware of "Alegria". Great composers start with the great knowledge of what already exists and then build something new on top of that foundation.
This was released all the way back in 1999. As Tarja herself put it, at the time she sounded like she had a "potato in her mouth". Either the 'End of an Era' live version or Tarja's cover together with Steve'n Seagulls make better representations. Particularly the last one is exquisite.
Sleeping Sun is a power ballad and one of four singles by the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish, it was one of two maxi singles released on August 2, 1999, coinciding with the eclipse of August 11, 1999. The original version was starred and sung by Tarja Turunen, and belongs to the Oceanborn album of 1998. Songwriter(s) Tuomas Holopainen Producer(s) Nightwish

Very interesting song and performance showing another side of Tarja. Great guitar too. Always good stuff on Maggie's channel. One thing I really like about Maggie's reactions is that you get so much more than the "yeah, I liked it" that some other reactioners give you. With Maggie, in addition to personal and nuanced reactions, you also get context, comparison, and knowledgeable analysis. Love this place!
Will I have to say, a lackluster reaction to what is a song that gives a highly uplifting deep in the stomach emotional feeling along with the goosebumps, the voice elevation after the guitar solo is just something I've not experienced in any other song I've heard, and I'm almost 70. Estonian lady friend of mine put me onto this track a couple of years ago, I'd never heard of Nightwish before.
she sounds fantastic to me as a non pro but music is enchanting.I can just imagine you doing this-the internet will melt! hope had a great holiday and staying warm.
This song is not about tecnnique, it's about emotion 🙏 My nr. 2 in my top 20 Nightwish songs. Floor is amazing overall and does a good job with this song but does in my opinion not come close to Tarja when it comes to this song.
Oceanborn is a complete work of art, no other non greatest hits album has this many A+ songs on it. This album also has a timeless quality and fits in pretty much no matter what you are feeling. Oceanborn is many peoples all time favorite album for a reason and it stays and remains as years go by.
2:58 in case you didn't know, Alegria was designed and composed to be done in about 20 different styles with a simple repeating melody (which you pointed out is extremely beautiful and catchy) as it was for a Cirque du Soleil touring show that lasted something around 3 years... in 1994! It is really well hidden in the music throughout the show, until the finale when the song from that video is played with a live singer. North America got the original singer from the song with the first tour, so it was awesome :D
ALL hale the REAL TRUE QUEEN 👑 of NIGHTWISH and of ALL FEMALE SYMPHONIC METAL SINGERS!!!, the very beautiful looking and very unique voice of the enchanting TARJA!!!😀👍👍🤘
Tarja sis legendary for a reason, which now is started to be rediscovered by reactors. She has so many gems, from this song to Crownless, Gethsemane. 🤌🏽
To be honest, without Tuomas and Tarja Manny young people (females) would never start singing listening opera or classic. There whare few bands as NW, epica, Lacuna coil, therion. Classic, operatic is a nisch . Love 😘 Beautiful Rene.
This song really belongs to Tarja. Even here, at the start of her classical singing career, she sounds beautiful. I've also had the great fortune to hear her sing this live a couple of times more recently and both times she sounded nothing short of divine.
Great. This is Nightwish classic. Also one Floors favorite songs. It was released as a maxi single with three other songs on 2 August 1999 to coincide with the total solar eclipse that would occur on 11 August. Funny thig is that Tuomas basically was not very enthusiastic to write is song. Record company order/ask Tuomas write song to this sun eclipse thing- Tuomas was like "i never do this again:). Floor version is sung little different. "at Antwerp on 20 November 2022. During the performance of the famous ballad “Sleeping Sun”, Floor begins to cry and courageously shows her weaknesses, in such a difficult moment of her life. It was the first live show after Floor’s cancer surgery." There is also Nightwish touring crew Crewish cover version It is very "rammstein".
I love the Crewish version. The Rammstein vibes are strong and making for an interesting and fun version of this song. The Crewish guys are great musicians as well and I love both of their albums.
For me, this tune is more powerfully sung and dramatized with the Crusades battle scene version. It becomes so much more emotional and meaningful. The band looked fantastic and acted as Crusaders.. Tarja was an otherworldly goddess figure.
You say you can listen Floor´s version? I cannot. Have you noticed Floor uses in NEMO, Tarja`s improvization-melody-part from Sleeping sun? (The part goes exactly same Tarja used in different song,) So Floor is copycat. @@marklinden2342
This song really put them on the map. And funnily enough Tuomas didn't want to do it at first. They were approached to do a song to mark the solar eclipse and it was supposed to be short for radio play and he thought it was a bit silly. But he went along with it. This might have been the first song I heard by them... or possibly Wishmaster (Fishmaster iykyk)
The you heared before cover was probably by Floor and yes Tuomas composed this but was a bit restricted because it was a request to write something for the solar eclipse back in the day if I remember correctly what I have read about it and what other fans said about it.

There is (of course) a video on RUclips of Floor performing this song. She does a fine job; but, with the choices she made to make the song her own (because why would she want to sing it exactly as Tarja sang it?), she changed some aspects of what made me fall in love with this song in the first place. Tarja's performance speaks to me of serenity, of the bringing of peace. Floor's version has a different vibe to it. Not better or worse, just different.
She's more metal? Tarja is classical and operatical trained. Did you ever heard some classical songs or opera arias performed by Tarja? Probably not... And sorry, but both songs are not similar at all. ;)
@@Boa_Omega Yes, trained in opera, she studied vocal techniques which are using in opera, she could sing in opera, but she chosen different way. And not a few, she was singing many opera arias and classical songs. But I don't understand what you mean by "german lied singing"... Yes, she was studing in Germany, classical and operatic techniques on german university.
@@tamashii6670 lied singing is chamber music for the stage not opera but very close cousins. Think musical theater. But both use classical techniques to project and protect the throat. It is akin to 'inside baseball' talk. For those who are in the trade the differences are important and significant. For us the lay audience is a case of shrugging shoulders and "Huh? What?" Response. Since we will never be singing either it hardly matters but to the trained eye and ear they are different. So approached differently. The Big Brain Singer did a great explanation that Tarja's style did not fit opera exactly. If she were in a competition she would be deducted points for it. But of course she is not trying to be an opera star. And I agree had she wanted to be and studied for it, she would be a great opera star. My only point was to not judge her by a standard that does not apply. When knowing her actual course of study its agreed she did a great job of covering an actual opera piece for a non opera singer.
@@Boa_Omega Where you get such informations, huh? Like lied singing, not opera? I've heard and read in many interviews with her that she was studied vocal techniques for classical music and opera. Damn girl, when are you going to Listen to Floor with Sleeping Sun? Little anecdote... when Floor had cancer and was operated, soon after that she performed with Nightwish again. She sang this I believe in Belgium and after finishing it she left the stage to cry
I have to admit, I'm not as keen on Tarja's version, it's dramatic but lacks that certain something she is normally known for. Floor's live version is better and more expressive but hearing yourself doing this Maggie would be interesting.
When this song came out in Finland Nemo song too, those made NW international band. Before that no one other than Finnish knew them. Also Floor version is very different, and Tuomas wrote this song, so not cover.
I've read somewhere (please correct me if I'm wrong) that this was a song that Tuomas didn't want to write/release in this form. The record company asked him to compose a song in the event of either a natural or an astronomical happening of some sort, but it had to be in a certain length (e.g. short and catchy). But, as you already know, Tuomas isn't a writer known for easy listening or short songs, let alone that he's letting someone else decide how to compose a song within fixed margins. Anyway, for once, he did what he was asked (I guess to keep the record company satisfied?) and still came up with a beauty of a song. Again, I might remember or explain this wrong 😅, so please correct me.
Just love this song and video for how beautiful it is. I love Tarja here but there is a another version done where she is older where her voice is a little more refined plus the visual of the battle field makes it more emotional. Both are beautiful tho.

This is the video that introduced me to Nightwish. After this I delved into the videos for I Wish I Had an Angel and others. I was a bit confused as to which singer was which though at the time - around 2009 I think, and for whatever reason didn't really explore their catalogue until a few years ago, during the Floor era. However for me this is the definitive version, as I love the atmospherics and everything about it. As for the vocals... not impressing you???? Beg your pardon?? Um... they're not meant to impress in the sense that she's attempting some vocal gymnastics and failing - she's singing in a manner that perfectly conveys the atmosphere that the composer intended. And the vocals she's attempting could not be more impressive to my ears. OK, lecture here... This is rock. It is not classical music meant to be torn apart by Grand Masters on High in ivory towers over the slightest misstep (she held that note one microsecond too long!!!"). This is rock, actually folk music. Thankfully we had punk in the 1970s to remind us of that. Unfortunately we seem to have forgotten that lesson here in the twenty-first century. Think of rock as a blank space in which the composer and performers are not bound by hard and fast rules and the aforementioned Grand Masters on High, as it was with the arts before the second half of the 19th century.

Si coincido con Steven Seagull año 2021🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
No excuses
Shut up! If you think stinky is better singer go check your ears tone-deaf ah.
'Sleeping sun' relesed 1999 (1998), one of my favorite track by Tarja🇸🇪🇫🇮
@@darpompie4354She had just gone through the surgery before that European leg of the tour.
I still think that performance of that song is the best ever. Floor really lets her true feelings that she’s actually feeling come out and that raw emotion makes her voice sound so beautiful.
She always sing with such emotion, but this is way mote intense than ever before.
@@lekalla She may have had the surgery before that tour but it takes along time before you know if they got all of it. You also never know if or when it's going to come back. You just can't turn off your emotions like that because "I had surgery". When you have a scare about losing your life and having your young child grow up without a mom, it effects you for a long time and for some changes your entire life perspective.
The song wich made me Nightwish fan back in 1999. Also one of the few song wich did last heavy rotation in Finnish radio channels, 1999 it was played like once in every 2 hour, without wearing out. And first song ever to give me chills.
When they shot this video Tarja was bitten by mosquitos so badly that she had to go to medical care. One can see them whirling around. Just amazing metal ballad - a legend I could say. Tuomas did the writing yes - when pretty young as they all were back then.
No excuses
Greetings from Helsinki, Finland. Thx for a very good reaction video. I've been seen Nightwish live about 15 times and my first Nightwish gig was 2001. So i see also Tarja at live. 🙂
The 2005 version is awesome too!! ✌🏼
Please look at her Version live from wacken church!
Seen Nightwish several times live with Tarja in the early 2000's before she was booted. Such a great song!
🥳🫶🙏💐
Songwriter(s) Tuomas Holopainen
Producer(s) Nightwish
*Yes, they added the song to every forthcoming re-release of their 1998 album "Oceanborn". But it was released for the first time on the EP in 1999. They had recorded it in the early Spring 1999* 🔥🔥 🎵🎹🎸🥁🎹🎵💿🔥😈🔥
Since years my phone is waking me up with this song every weekday. I just love the way it start.
One of those songs I prefer Tarja over any other singer 🧡🧡🧡
My #1 all time Nightwish song.. Now and forever!
Live version from End of an Era is a much better version, in my opinion.
Tarja did a cover of this song with another Finish band Steven Seagulls a completely different tempo its quite good
Will I have to say, a lackluster reaction to what is a song that gives a highly uplifting deep in the stomach emotional feeling along with the goosebumps, the voice elevation after the guitar solo is just something I've not experienced in any other song I've heard, and I'm almost 70.
Estonian lady friend of mine put me onto this track a couple of years ago, I'd never heard of Nightwish before.
she sounds fantastic to me as a non pro but music is enchanting.I can just imagine you doing this-the internet will melt! hope had a great holiday and staying warm.
Siempre es mejor las perfomances en vivo
This song is not about tecnnique, it's about emotion 🙏 My nr. 2 in my top 20 Nightwish songs. Floor is amazing overall and does a good job with this song but does in my opinion not come close to Tarja when it comes to this song.
At this point Tarja was just finding her voice, so young.
Oh how fun! Someone picked up the fantastic Alegria vibes!
Hands down my fav Nightwish song ever and specifically with Tarja singing it.
original theme/ Taria
I can't believe you reacted to this song.
My favorite Nightwish song!
ALL hale the REAL TRUE QUEEN 👑 of NIGHTWISH and of ALL FEMALE SYMPHONIC METAL SINGERS!!!, the very beautiful looking and very unique voice of the enchanting TARJA!!!😀👍👍🤘
I love this song, especially because they're still baby Nightwish at this point!!
Beautiful Maggie Rene
Tarja, the symphonic metal goddess. The Best!
This song really belongs to Tarja. Even here, at the start of her classical singing career, she sounds beautiful. I've also had the great fortune to hear her sing this live a couple of times more recently and both times she sounded nothing short of divine.
I actually like it a lot. it is when she was required to sing 'normally' she didn't quite rise to the challenge
Floor's rendition is stunning.
Always team Tarja 🖤 next Steve 'N' Seagulls - Sleeping Sun with Tarja 🤯🖤💪🏻
If i had to organize a new opera i would try to get toumas to write the music for me... it would become epic.
Want Floor's take on this. Live at Tampere. It's beautiful!
Much more fitting.
This is an early song, before tarja had much training btw. the end of an era live version is better
I prefer this original 1999 version. 🎭🎵😈
For me, this tune is more powerfully sung and dramatized with the Crusades battle scene version. It becomes so much more emotional and meaningful. The band looked fantastic and acted as Crusaders.. Tarja was an otherworldly goddess figure.
I looove this song, floors version is also very great
This version is unbeatable.
…except when Floor sings it
@@marklinden2342😂😂😂floor’ s poppy voice doesn’t work with it
You say you can listen Floor´s version? I cannot. Have you noticed Floor uses in NEMO, Tarja`s improvization-melody-part from Sleeping sun? (The part goes exactly same Tarja used in different song,) So Floor is copycat. @@marklinden2342
If I'm being honest the live version of this song is way, way better, in every way. Especially from End of an Era show.
Floor is Nightwish
Nightwish before Floor is
…….night Wish Floor were singing
Will check back for the next time you feature Floor singing.
:)
You are annoying...does your Family think so too, because i would not be surprised
One of Holopainen's greatest works. One that will endure.
check the Steven Seagull ft. Tarja... 😃😃 same song, some vocalist, Tarja but...
Yes, Alegria is a phantastic Track from Cirque de Soleil 👍🏼 and yes, Floor is phantastic on Sleeping Sun. 😉
The you heared before cover was probably by Floor and yes Tuomas composed this but was a bit restricted because it was a request to write something for the solar eclipse back in the day if I remember correctly what I have read about it and what other fans said about it.
amaising balads....and coment, remember first reaction on maggie, very god...iam desapoint for broken nightwish...mony its very important for many people
I prefer 2005 live version on this.
One of the first Nightwish songs I heard, along with ’Nemo’, ‘Wish I Had An Angel’, and ‘The Siren’. The song was inspired by a solar eclipse.
Beeest!!!!
Flor also does an incredible job on this song. Live at least.
This song Floor has said is her favourite classic NW track and Tarja was her idol. Still good friends to this day.
She's more metal? Tarja is classical and operatical trained. Did you ever heard some classical songs or opera arias performed by Tarja? Probably not... And sorry, but both songs are not similar at all. ;)
Not trained in opera. She trained in German Lied singing. She has covered. A few arias. Including Mein Herr Marquis.
I didn't know what "lied singing" is only because english isn't my native language and I didn't know it in english, but I know what you mean now, I know what it is. And no, I still disagree with you, sorry.
@@Boa_OmegaNESSUN DORMA is an ARIA ! ( Sung by Pavarotti). CASTA DIVA is an ARIA! (Sung by Maria Callas). BOTH are operetic musical themes and opera singers can only sing them. They demend lyrical skills.Tarja is an opera singer a mezzo soprano who has finished successfully her studies, we know when and where...
one of my life's songs
Damn girl, when are you going to Listen to Floor with Sleeping Sun?
Little anecdote... when Floor had cancer and was operated, soon after that she performed with Nightwish again. She sang this I believe in Belgium and after finishing it she left the stage to cry
For a video of Floor singing this song... please check out her 2016 performance with Nightwish. Great reaction Maggie! 👏🏻👏🏻
I love Tarja's voice ❤
The best time of Nightwish, For me when Nightwish was Nightwish, I'm not disparaging Floor, but Tarja gave Nightwish its characteristic
I have to admit, I'm not as keen on Tarja's version, it's dramatic but lacks that certain something she is normally known for. Floor's live version is better and more expressive but hearing yourself doing this Maggie would be interesting.
Well done. And Tuomas is the genius. Floors versions are waiting on you.
I never liked Tarjas album version of Sleeping Sun. But I love her singing it live on stage. It is totally different then imo.
Go listening live versio from Tarja, that is out of this planet! Love it!
I love this song! It's one of my favorite Nightwish songs! I definitely would absolutely love Maggie to cover this! Plzzzz Maggie!💖🥺💖
You are so sweet my dear!! 🪷😊❤️ Thank you so much for this and for your lovely gift!! Have a wonderful weekend! 🥳🫶🎶
When this song came out in Finland Nemo song too, those made NW international band. Before that no one other than Finnish knew them.
Also Floor version is very different, and Tuomas wrote this song, so not cover.
Tarja did this song in a church, it was stunning. No one can sing it. Better
Tarja is symphonic rock, floor is metal rock
Tuomas wrote both the music and lyrics of "Sleeping Sun"
Just love this song and video for how beautiful it is. I love Tarja here but there is a another version done where she is older where her voice is a little more refined plus the visual of the battle field makes it more emotional. Both are beautiful tho.
Hello dear reactor, this too is Tuomas' creation. He is our metal Mozart 🤘And your reactions are lovely as always. That guitar riff...hits, Emppu ❤ I was at their live concert 17th June 2023 and I am telling you - if you ever have a chance seeing them live, go! I never ever forget my trip to that live show. I took several pictures and videos there but nothing compares that experience and feeling what I had seeing them live and beautiful songs. Believe me, you need to see them live.
THANKS for some TARJAWISH !!!!!!!!!!!!
Been flipping out over TARJA'S new DARK CHRISTMAS album videos- only 12 to choose from !!!!!!!!!!!!!
💙💙💙💙💜💜💜💜🖤🖤🖤🖤
Listen to the End of an Era live version 👍👍👍
It’s a beautiful song. All three Nightwish singers do a good job of it, but I prefer Floor singing it live.
You should check out her song phantom of the opera
Nightwish Army south Brittany France reporting.
I love Floor, but this song will always be Tarya's.
Now go listen to hear it performed live.
Recommend you to watch this same song with the three Nightwish singers
