    The 1660 super is still a good gpu as long as you can get it at a decent price. Vram is getting a bit light even for 1080p but thats an issue for many gpu of the last couple of generations. People laughed when the rx 580 hit with 8gb of vram but thats the main reason its still a relevant gpu today.

It's the low end of viable vram at the moment and given the trend of ever more detailed textures its only going to get worse. That forsworn game needs 16gigs for the high textures.

    If you are building a budget gaming rig and don't plan to upgrade then it's worth it but otherwise it has too many compromises, you are tied to the PSU that comes with it cause it's reverse fan , without it the CPU is gonna overheat since there is no airflow on it, and you'll be limited on which GPU you can use cause of size and the 500w PSU limit, CPU wise I won't use anything bigger than a i5 12400, the board VRM's can't handle any more than that

  • @Mrtev215
    @Mrtev215 Год назад

    So I made this built. Except with a 3060 i5 12400 instead of a 1650 an i3 13100. Brought through a their toasty bro affiliate link from new egg. Initially does the PC get hot yes. Nothing that will cause the PC to crash but it will get very warm to the touch. To fix this issue the only thing you have to do is go out and buy 3 USB cooling fans. I bought six of them through Amazon and they're called AC Infinity. Now all 100% admit six was kind of Overkill but I can play Need for Speed Heat a very graphically intensive and CPU intensive game and I only reach Temps in the mid-70s on my GPU and my CPU and motherboard only reaches about 62c... I purchased their set of two 80 mm cooling fans and then some 120 mm fans they also have, and a power adapter that boosts the fan speed. All together all of those fans and that USB power adapter came to about $60 in total these are very cheap fans but they're pretty good quality they don't feel like cheap plastic like they'll fall apart instantly... So if there's anyone who's legitly thinking about making this build maybe for the same reasons that I did because I needed a compact build I don't have a lot of room for a huge Tower. You can definitely make this a very competent gaming desktop. I've literally spent one month testing this PC before I even decided to make this comment because I didn't want these fans to not work or the PC to constantly overheat. And neither one of those things happened so honestly this is a good build can be pretty cheap if you also if you price around the parts onvplaces like eBay and Facebook Marketplace. My entire build excluding the fans and the ssds because I just took those m.2's from my previous gaming laptop. The complete build came out to about $750.

      @@phenom4023 Rtx 3060 single fan pny version
      32 Gb of ram (2x16gb sticks)
      I5 12400. Could save 10-20 bucks if you get the 12400f version because it’s has no built in graphics
      CPU fan I went with the noctua L9i. Very important to remember that it MUST BE the L9i version. Because cpu uses the lga 1700 socket. Also, remember CPU fan can only be 54 mm in height that’s the max clearance if you stick with the stock ATX power supply that comes with the system, but the system is also mountable for a smaller SFX power supply if you’re willing to go that route. I stuck with the standard power supply and have no issues with it.
      My nvme is a old 1TB drive from a gaming laptop I used for years but it’s a Samsung 970 which usually ranges to 90-120 dollars.
      Now, as far as the USB fans go, I’ve bought them off of Amazon. They are branded as AC infinity and what I did was I purchased the dual sets of 120 mm fans and a dual set of 80 mm fans which I use for intake and exhaust. If you mount the fans correctly, you’ll definitely feel the heat coming out of, the exhaust ports where the fan should be properly mounted with some type of 3M, double-sided, sticky tape, unless you’re confident to drill mounting holes into the system which I wasn’t. Both sets of fans are relatively cheap as well. I believe one was $18.99 and the other one was like $21. And the AC adapter to make the fan spin at a higher speed was only like an additional eight dollars so overall the USB fans should maybe run you 60 bucks in a whole total. Now I do wanna give you a heads up that these prices may vary because to my knowledge, I believe the asrock deskmeet is a little more expensive than it was when I bought it through Newegg but it’s only buy like $30. I bought the system and they were selling it for 189$. But as long as you’re willing to shop the used market for your graphics card, you should be fine because everything else in the system was new for the exception of the graphics card and that was because someone was selling a 3060 for 250$ on Facebook marketplace near me so it was too good of a deal to pass up

      @@enz4961 No problemo. Just maybe google something before hand, if you're not entirely sure. This I was sure about, because it's a card I've been wanting to since it's release, and am now only just about able to afford it.

    Pretty neat but a struggle at the same price as a PS5. It will be interesting to see what the new AMD APU processors can achieve in sfx!

      Idk other than ps5 exclusives I'd say this would be more worth it but if you don't like the process of building it and allat yea a ps5, also same about the apu's.

    so, noob question here but,, why isn't there any thermal paste applied between the CPU and the cooler in this build? like @5:20 onwards, just installs the cooler right on.

    ALRGIHT. If I knew this thing existed I might have done that instead of a couple of Optiplex builds. Much as I like my 4790k and Zotac 2060 in a 9020mt, that little box probably offers a better experience with more cores, faster ram, an NVME SSD. Yeah. Very nice!

      Yes and No
      It will fit yes, BUT that PSU is reverse flow, it draws air from the back and blows it on top of the CPU, is the ONLY source of airflow the case has, without it the CPU will overheat, so unless you buy a sfx PSU and open it and reverse the fan (so bye bye warranty on the PSU as soon as you open it and that it's IF the fan can be flipped back) it will hurt more than help.
