      Why? Please, don't get offended, I am honestly curious. From my perspective, if I know a character -> then I know the pronunciation. If I don't know a character -> then I have to check it in a dictionary anyway (since then English subtitles are not a word for word translation)(because no good translation is like that).

    Thank you for sharing your thoughts. The Chinese culture is so different. In China young people are so future oriented, they have much more expectations for the future and much more pressure. And the point about "it is not only you too who are marry, it is your families too" - that is the rocket science for me.

    6:11 "came to their senses" feels a bit too strong for xiang kai, as there is a slightly negative connotation to the term "to come to one's senses". Perhaps "accepted the situation" is more suitable. Thank you.

    Very interesting subject. Makes me think of my family and the life choices my mother and stepfather had to do on their ways through life.
    I'm curious what you would say about my comment, but I doubt it will be read ^__^'''
    So, even though I am a guy I also think that before even just finding a girlfriend I should first get myself at least a house/flat of my own. At least if we are talking about serious intentions. And if not - then what's the point of all of this headache connected with relationships?
    But then again, even though I have quite a stable work and my sphere of work implies that I can always find where to work with little effort and I love to do house chores (like cleaning and so on), I am not motivated enough (if at all) about life in general and don't have any ideas about future (remember those criterias you have mentioned "he must be motivated and have plans for the suture" lol). So yeah.
    Sometimes it is up to a woman to make a man become motivated, no matter how hardworking he is and how many of the values (family and life in general) the two of them share. Remember how it is said "behind every great man stands a great woman". :)

    有些外国男人只想与谈恋爱的方式来学中文,没打算认真结婚,没考虑未来。真的结婚了,如果搬到外国也会有很多挑战。尤其是现在很多西方国家排华,要交当地好的朋友教你,工作比较难,只能找海外华侨。当地语言沟通,文化差异问题,受到歧视 。以后生了孩子,学校没读中文,还要监督小孩读别的语言, 不容易。如果夫妻感情恶化,有了孩子要离婚更麻烦!! 父母亲留在中国老了没人照顾。要好好考虑。

    Here’s a situation That happened several years ago that still confuses me. I stopped over in Beijing for about three days On my way to Tokyo. normally stay in American branded five stars hotels as you get great values in China. I’m sitting in the business lounge resting and having a beer. On two separate occasions, two 20ish fairly attractive women on hotel staff Asked me if I wanted to go out see the sights and one even mentioned marriage. I’m average looking ABC in my 50s. The tour guide I hired to show me the forbidden city told me they want an American husband so they can get a green card. They think you’re rich if you stay in American branded five stars. I do not understand how Chinese women can think about marriage without even getting to know the guy? Can somebody explain this to me. It’s like courtship is about two weeks from the time you first meet. Luckily, I had a cold and was in no mood to go on dates with young women. Otherwise, I would’ve wound up with a Chinese wife in her 20s. 😂

    • @EverydayChinese
      @EverydayChinese  4 года назад +1

      It depends. Not every young Chinese woman would like to date an American guy they don't know. I think only a few. ---Crystal

      Could be we’re seeing Different segments of the female population. I’m in the hotels and the tourist areas. Everybody warned Me to be careful about Chinese women. Not only the scammers In the Tea houses, etc. but also the women who want to get married to a foreigners. Even my tour guide warned me about it. Your segment must be the everyday nice girls Who are calmer and less aggressive. True?

    • @Hirokuro_Asura
      @Hirokuro_Asura 4 года назад +1

      I am pretty sure you can find this type of women anywhere, even in US or EU. Doesn't have to anything to do with them being Chinese, it is just one of the types of females that are out there. Just like you can find both dicent men and faithless pigs type men in any country. People are same everywhere by large count.
      Also they might have been just curious about getting to know a foreigner and making friends (yeah, I know, childish, but I still have some little bit of faith in humanity lol).
      But in general yeah, sounds quite suspicious.

    • @slashlakers2320
      @slashlakers2320 4 года назад

      also, why a car would be so important, living in a big city like shenzhen, where I would assume public transport is first class level

    • @Hirokuro_Asura
      @Hirokuro_Asura 4 года назад +1

      I think car was mentioned in terms of having home/a house far from a "good school" because this part of dialogue was near it (since not all schools have same ratings, even though it always depends on pupils to study well more than on school. Nevertheless a good teacher is also important).
      If your house is located near "good school" a car is not a must (districts built around facilities like schools and hospitals etc) but if far - a car is a solution for the getting to school and then to work fast. As for picking the child up from school - many schools (esp younger grades) have options for kids to stay in school until late evening with teachers - so called prolonged day. Not sure how often it is a thing these days or in China, but it used to be a thing before.

    • @Hirokuro_Asura
      @Hirokuro_Asura 4 года назад

      As for the "losing home" I'd assume that a good man would leave the house to the kids and wife (if the children were to stay with mother f.e.). Back at his time my stepfather did just that. He basically left to nowhere leaving everything to his kids and a (former) wife who actually was the one to blame for the familys' falling apart. But being a still quite young man who knew what to do with his skills he managed to find himself where to stay and so on, though for the short time he stayed with his mother until he found himself a house for rent. I suppose having high family values this is quite normal/typical way of thigs going after divorce for chinese ppl.

    一月十二日: 我很开心, 想和你们分享我好的新信息! 就是我和老公几乎离婚了! 🎉
    我们只要等待五月才能结束, 我也还需要找一位律师代表自己了!✌️
    哦, 房价差不多是5百万元一平方米的话, 那谁能买呢? 😯

    對我韓國人的立場來講,我實在太不喜歡韓國和中國結婚文化了,為什麼女方不想要和男方一起負擔賣家房子的費用呢?不是那個文化覺得應該要有改善的問題了嗎?不是妳們都覺得實在太自私了嗎?

      现在也有很多夫妻是共同出钱买房的。视频里也提到,可能双方父母都出钱帮孩子买房。另外,即便首付是男方出的,婚后也一般都是夫妻一起还贷款,这也是一起负担买房的费用。
