For Fashion Pixies retailers refused to see the product because it was too “dark and scary”
For Monster High the molds were from an unreleased line called “LaTeenez” not My Scene and pieces laying around and it was Garret Sandrr

Sometimes I wish the prototypes could have been the final product!
I've seen a lot of Barbie movie dolls prototype like barbie Genevieve and she's so pretty on her sample.
The Myscene monster high prototype is my personal type and I would love them to release those version aswell
But we all know Mattel need to cut corners for profit.
Prototype dolls and the final product dolls like monster high dolls and Barbie dolls kids would love this for Christmas even for the new generation of collectors doll collectors
Totally agree with you on the Genevieve prototype! I customized my Genevieve to resemble the promo art more and I’m very happy with her now :)
I love the prototypes for the Monster High dolls! I prefer them actually, they remind me of a goth version of MyScene dolls, which is awesome. But, I do think the final product is probably more suited to what they were going for with the brand.
i rlly like both but if the final product gave something refereshing and new to the market
They are too “sultry” looking…. For a line aimed at children…. They had to look cartoony….
Frankie not being green is a huge flop, so I’m glad they didn’t use that look lol, plus the actual dolls we got look way more unique. The prototypes look too similar to barbie and other dolls honestly.. so I’m glad we got what we did, fits the aesthetic

Great video concept today !! Never knew prototype photos existed of these dolls . Thanks for sharing. Side note 😭 its truly a tragedy that mattel has cut corners and the quality of the barbie fashions are poor . I'm sick of the current playline dolls and when it comes to the clothing and hair quality
I'd love a collector's edition of Monster High that uses the prototype style.

fun fact: the monster high doll prototypes weren't actually My scene dolls! they were actually an unreleased doll line called "LatTEENas"

was thinking just this!!! it’s interesting how this pro-type wolf monster high doll was actually named howleen and you can see how the style is a similar fashion to the original howleen we all know and love :)

I'm starting to think you either don't like this channel or maybe just want to inform them better, either way your approach is very passive aggressive especially reading back to your other comments on their videos. As a RUclipsr yourself("hope to have a fun time with each other") maybe you should take on account how to comment something more positively than just acting like you know everything better than anyone else.
@@adelizasilva5486 this wasn't meant to be offensive but realistic, they didn't lie at all. the channel also criticizes different companies and doll lines for the lack of quality or judging specific aspects, but when a person comments on his mistakes, it's wrong? I honestly cannot understand your favoritism.
I would think the plastic sleeves on Barbie would stain the doll if not removed every time you dress her. What do you think?

That's been a really great video, I enjoyed the comparison between what could have been and what we got in the dolls. I was most surprised by Clawdeens change, and I would have liked her outfit too.

That was very interesting to see. I went back and forth because some of the prototypes outfits I liked, but I liked the head sculpts on some of the final ones better, really hard to decide. And I was quite surprised at the Monster High ones! It would have been fun to have them closer to the My Scene dolls, but that's just because I loved that line! ♥️

I kinda prefer the final Monster High dolls but the prototype looks cool too. Prototype outfits are more detailed and their legs look so much better.
The final product of bratz fashion pixes look more like the DVD cover but I would have preferred the prototype

@5:38 my mom had this one! She let me play with it as a kid, and I remember LOVING the neon outfit!
On the last barbie, they definitely decided to do an all-over print on that floral pink dress instead of a border print to save money. You can use more of the fabric when it's an all over, also less waste. Also seems like they cut back on the size of the pattern for the skirt. Can cut more skirts out of one bolt of fabric, but also save on costs. Also please do more prototype videos, they're fascinating and fun.
Oh the Fashion Pixiez prototypes HURT 😭😭 I love the line as-is (and try not to think about the inconsistency from the movie) but the prototypes were perfect..... also super intrigued by the larger dolls!! 🤩
I mostly prefer the prototypes with the exception of movin groovin Barbie. I always loved her outfit I was just never a fan of the pattern/colours. The shape/style I loved though. I played with that doll for hours on end as a kid but I just remember that the whole walking thing didn't work that well. Her shoes double as stamps and she came with ink so she stamped as she walked but it never worked

I prefer the boots from the prototype of Magic of the Rainbow rather than her being barefoot. Other than that, I like the final doll better. Great video as always!

Sensational, I was even divided into some of them! There are definitely positives and negatives on both sides of the coin.
The implementation of the hard plastic really kills Barbie for me. I remember having a large Barbie suitcase with all kinds of outfits and accessories in it. Barbie actually sold outfits and accessories separately for their dolls. Whatever happened to that? The majority of the fun of playing with a Barbie is the ability to change her outfits and accessories. 🤦🏼♀️
Ok!! Very good video, good job! I must say seeing the prototype dance moves barbies blew my mind! I kinda liked the bright prototype outfits better, the boots with the bows are everything!

I love the vibrancy of the prototypes for the Dance Moves Barbies; you'd spot them in a store aisle from like a mile away haha. For the 1999 Holiday Barbie, I honestly can't pick one; they're both gorgeous. Beyond Pink's and Moving Grooving prototypes slayed, imo. Secret Door's, Fairytopia's and Bratz Pixie Magic's prototypes are leagues better as well. As for Monster High, the prototypes strike me too much as just Barbies dressed up for Halloween; the final products are hella unique and striking.
Mattel seems to have downgraded in a lot of these final decisions haha 😅😅
Just imagine what it would be like if we could get our hands on those prototype dolls I personally would go for the prototype Monster High Dolls if I could

Bratz Fairies - Prototype♥ I prefer straight hair, not curly.
Fairytopia - neither really. The prototype doesn't look like wings, it looks like a flower. The stockings are too busy. The hair is shorter, so I prefer the longer hair. The final product is too much, too many stripes. If the shirt were a shirt and not painted on, that's fine, but then the wings needed to be a solid color. IMO
I love the prototypes for Beyond Pink.

The Beyond Pink prototype Barbie is definitely giving Britney, I like it a lot more than the final one personally. Also oh my god, the Starlight Adventure prototype has been added to my grail dolls list. It's really interesting to see these, like seeing concept art for movies. The Magic of the Rainbow prototype's wings look like they were done with Blo Pens, lol

This is so weird but I just found out where the yellow doll dress with unknown origins came from....moving groovin barbie. I don't remember having her but the dress is somehow in my doll pile
Mattel has really released for Dance Moves line Midge instead of Christie in European countries, she has same outfit like Christie. So Midge was used in line as well, just only for European market, not US.

I loved Living Dead Dolls but they pull the same trick. The prototype images for the Scooby Doll and Elvira dolls looked a lot better than what was released.
I'm still ticked that Elvira's high heels were molded instead of removable.

Prototypes are conceptual mock ups that gets developed into final products. The final product usually look drastically different from their prototypes and prototypes are most often not the final product.

the beyond pink treasa dose have one orange flower on her jeans. i personly like the lots of flowers on the prototypes pants but i think that the final product has a nicer top and hair.
