Me and my sister had TONS of those magnetic Polly Pockets as well as other Pollies that were rubbery and also had magnets, but this time in their feet so they could stick to playsets and things. I was like 5 when the recall happened and my mom contacted Mattel almost immediately. My mom returned all of the recalled Polly Pockets, and we ended up getting HUNDREDS of dollars to spend on other Mattel products. My mom took us to Toys R' Us and basically let us run wild and pick out whatever the heck we wanted. Hands-down one of my all-time favourite memories from my childhood.

I bought 8 fake dolls 12 years ago when I was on vacation. They are "Funkis" (copies of Bratz and My Scene, hybrid models). At first, they had no peculiar smell. But over the years a smell developed, I found that when I was near them or touched them, it gave me a headache. I kept them because I love them but I cannot display or use them, they are stored in individual bags, together in another bag, in a closet. Some time ago I took them out to take a picture of them and it once again gave me a headache and an unpleasant sensation, I needed to ventilate the room to breathe better.

I don't know if I am "sensitive" or if a lot of people have this kind of feeling, it has also happened to me with some products that I have used, for example some cleaning products (blue gel for the toilets), or glue (Super glue) and even "hypoallergenic" wet wipes which were made to clean the hands ! (Sanytol). It causes an immediate headache sensation with a need for clean air.

Hey op could it be that theres some sort of chemical reaction happening? I know with a specific generation of pullip bodies ( gen 2 i believe) had this issue where the body parts were made of materials that had adverse chemical reactions when those specific body parts came into contact with each other, causing the plastic to begin melting. If theyre like copies/knockoff hybrids it couldve been that it was made with questionable materials and over the time it just deteriorated or theres some reaction happening causing the smell and side effects. If youve had to keep them sealed in order to still keep them it might be a gas or something idk,but id def check with others to see if they experience the same thing, if so they probably need to be sealed in a display if you still wanna keep them.

Wow, I actually had the Skydancer that you showed in the photo growing up. 🤣
I actually feel like a bit of a super Auntie right now. 😊 I officially got my oldest nephew ( he’s 7, soon to be 8) his first doll to start his doll collection. 😊
We went to 2 different Walmarts today, I was trying to find the Rainbow High Winter Break dolls, but sadly, at both stores, I had no luck, so sadly I didn’t get any of those today, but, at the second Walmart, I was looking at the other dolls that were there, and so was my nephew, and as we were looking, he asked if I could get him something, I said yes, and then he asks me. “ Auntie Hannah, would it be weird for a boy to get a doll?” Of course, I tell him it’s absolutely not weird and he could get a doll if he wants too, he smiled so big and he got the doll from the new Spirit movie, it came with the girl and Spirit. He wanted to get Skyler too, ( yes, Rainbow High Skyler) but I couldn’t afford it. ( I wanted to set some money aside for when I do find the Winter Break dolls.) So I told him I’d get him Skyler for his Birthday. 😊 he was so happy, he gave me the biggest hug, and I just felt so happy for him. 😊😊😊💜💜💜

I remember watching the news story with my parents as it came on the TV and my little sister had the set and we all loved it. Right when the Cabbage Patch Snack Time Kid was beginning to be recalled my mother raced out to get one before they were taken off the shelves because she thought that it would be super valuable. So somewhere I have one NIB. It’s probably gone by now, seeing as we’ve moved around and I’ve moved out, to be honest. I remember the news reports and how little girls would have chunks of their hair and even scalp ripped out by these dolls. The on/off switch for the chewing mechanism wasn’t easily accessible. I had a Skydancer as a kid and I never had any issues with it attacking me. And there is that one internet meme of some kid's Skydancer flying into a burning fireplace. But I'm not surprised, as the whole 'flying' gimmick is similar to launching a projectile.

Ooooh my goooosh, I had a Skydancer when I was a kid and it got stuck on the roof of our house and I never saw her again, I was completely heartbroken 💔 I completely forgot about her till now!!!!!! I absolutely loved her and will definitely try to find her on ebay 😂 PS: I lived in Brazil as a child and for sure her name was not Skydancer, so I could NEVER remember how she was called, so THANKS for reminding me of her!!! Love your channel!

It really impresses me that mattel went on with the sparking rollerblade idea. How tf was it approved at first place????

The reason why Sky Dancer's are discontinued by GALOOB or Mattel if I'm correct, is because of eyed Injuries, because of pulling out the string in hard pressure, and they'll fly into the air in unexpected directions

I had not a sky dancer doll , but similar helicopters .... one was a really big one , I think no toy company would make somethig big and dangerous nowadays .

I remember having barbies skates, me and my older brother were in one room, I was playing on the floor in my barbies house, it had a carpet/rug and I put the skates on my fingers and it started flickering, thank god 4 year old me knew how fires started so I showed them to my brother and we just didn’t use them, a few months back we found them again while cleaning my closet and it lit up a few little memories:D

Quick correction: the skates Barbie has the sparks in a little plastic area and the risk of fire is very low. Parents were concerned though so they recalled them

I'm so happy you covered the RollerBlade Barbie Dolls. I had the roller blade Barbie too! my parents wouldn't let me play, or open them because of the "issues". But..... I'm so thankful that my parents kept them figuring they may be valuable someday. Now I'm a doll collector and borderline hoarder.
